Started homeschooling my son when he was in the 1st grade. Public school taught him that he will never learn because he can't sit still or keep his hands to himself. It opened my eyes that nothing has changed in 30 years since I was the adhd student. I still regret to this day I ever sent him to public school.
I've tutored children in my home whose parents want them to sit perfectly still in the chair during the session. But, it's one-on-one. They 're not distracting anyone else. I don't care if they stand next to the table as long as they're focused. I would encourage you to read uplifting books about adhd strengths. My son is in 6th grade now, and I'm always thinking what he's good at so that I know some career choices he might like. You are blessed that you were able to homeschool.
