I was there, thank God himself and thank God I was Born & Bred in Wigan alongside 'my brother', Richard. The music goes through a phase transition/phase at about 7mins 44 seconds. PURE FUCKING GENIUS, BE TOLD.
As a musician, I love when bands change a song and expand upon it in a very creative way. Is this the same as the album? No, but that is also what makes it interesting. McCabe is one of my fave guitarists ever. A real mind expander he is. Quite amazing how that sampled sound floats underneath the trucking rhythm section at half speed. Brilliant band.
The verve are my favourite band of all time and I hate I wasn't old enough to go this gig and see this song live!! Nick McCabe on guitar in this is insane!! I listen to this song before I go out on match day!! Would of loved seen them in the early 90s for a storm in heaven!!
I was 14 years old at the concert McCabe had a pack of Stella on his amp at one point wind slightly blowing his hair and him smashing it on the guitar !!!!!
I was there..squeezed up at the front on the right hand side...still the best moment Ive had at a gig - the energy from Come on was soo incredible, plus didnt really drink at all during the day, so just vibed from the power of the song and them.....7.42 is the absolute best and Pete Salisbury's drumming is just great, its a like a heart attack!
nick mcabe is owning that axe fuckin hell thats how its done!!! in capitals WHAT A SONG if i werent goin to bed id start drinkin and kissin the sky!!!! bastard oh well tomorrow it is then COME ON!!!
It was called The Verve 96-98 it was like a documentary with intetviews and live footage.Worth a look if ye could find it.I had it for vcr back in the day.
What a discovery! I totally missed this band in the 90's. They had the makings of something real special. What a shame this group isn't still making music together.
Fuck yeah, this is what its all about, COME ON NOW! Let's have it, take the moment and run with it, never forget the good times where everything was so simple, all that mattered was did you have enough money for a weekend session, did you get your end away, did that bird give you a blag number!!!!! Night clubs and house parties, Uni mates and hot knives, COME ON NOW, This was our time, never forget!!!!!!!
i wish i could remember more of this day but i was so stoned i spent a lot of the time on the floor in giggling fits, i do remember a food fight in the queue to get in and beck was top as the support act and "dont buy vauxhall cars" from ahscroft - legend, i hate vauxhall cars!
NICK McCABE of THE VERVE will play a special set on THURSDAY, the 2nd of APRIL in MANCHESTER!!! Don't miss NICK McCABE at MARQUEE CLUB @ NIGHT & DAY CAFE with Damo Suzuki of legendary CAN, Mark Heaney on Drums and Jeff Wootton on Bass !!! Tickets are limited... x

Sara Bannistermott lol sorry :( Just that the album version had the awesome vocals (Ashcroft screaming "Come OOOOOOON !" ) and the live version had the awesome drumming and guitar, and this has neither :(

I was there , a day of pure magic for us Wiganers and people who came from around the world
2:30 always gives me goosebumps. Nothing beats a Les Paul blaring through most likely a stack of Marshall amps.
The best from The Velve
The last legendary gig of the 20th Century
Shoegazer 93 agree. All downhill after this.
