The Race Against Time is a loosely programmatic concert band work depicting the hectic and fast-paced nature of life in the 21st century. In this highly original and well-crafted work, you will hear moments of stress, ambition, determination, willpower, burnout, breakthrough, and accomplishment in a cycle that modern life takes us through constantly. Many of the sections in this piece are short-lived, mirroring the ephemeral nature of each stage in the cycle. This piece ultimately serves as a reminder to sometimes stop “running the race”, and to find a healthy balance between working hard and enjoying life.
