You dont mention where you got the new one!!! I have the same problem on my 2001 Taco and this is helping me so much you have no idea!! Thank you!! Subscribed!
Hey I got as far as removing the old seatbelt and realized this video does not show you replacing the housing unit for the buckle itself. Do I need to remove the entire seat? to get to the female seatbelt buckle piece? (the piece where the tab that you pull over and across your body and click the belt buckle into and has a larger red button to push to unlock yourself out of the seat belt. Hope this questions makes sense and you or the community can assist me. I have riding around dirty without a seatbelt for going on the 3rd day now.
Great question, it needs to be disconnected because they are both a part of the supplemental restraint system (SRS) and messing with the seatbelts may mess with the airbag system causing its to deploy or disable. For example, I had a customer who got into an accident the seatbelts locked up to keep them in their seats but the accident didn’t trip the airbags to deploy but now BOTH her seatbelt and airbags are disabled and the vehicle in unsafe to drive and it most likely needs to go to the dealership to get it reset. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
If you don’t disconnect the battery you could get shocked, the seatbelt actually has electrical components to it! You wait 20 minutes to wait for the electricity to disarm throughout the vehicle. Thanks for always watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Hey Roy, what part number is this seatbelt? I’ve been looking online for it and I cannot find it. We have the same exact one and I’d like to know where you ordered it from.
I’d highly recommend sticking to the dealer for this one, there’s a lot of electrical components connected to the ECU that (highly) might not be compatible if you get an aftermarket part. thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I got mine at the dealer, but the first one I called was little more than yours. The second one I called "Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA" was only $164.00 Not sure why the big difference from dealers, but there it is. Good Luck.
I have just replaced the driver-side seatbelt on my 1999 Toyota Prerunner per your procedures. Worked wonderfully! Thanks for posting this video!
Excellent step by step instructions. I was able to replace my seatbelt without any hiccups. Thanks!
Glad I could help and thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Sir, i have a question why you need to remove the battery connector?

Why did you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery? Why did you have to wait 20 minutes? Very interesting video!!
