This Subzero is what you get when casting is done FLAWLESSLY. Joe Taslim is nothing short of impressive.
Scorpion's actor is also a true Samurai, but the film didn't take full advantage Of him.

It’s like he’s waited hundreds of years for this opportunity and is gleefully taking it regardless of his chances. He pulls the sword out when he could’ve used the spear again, later he shows his face when Sub’s down, all these choices to savor the moment.

A lot of people seem to overlook something really beautiful about this fight. Scorpion uses the fires of hell to save the lives of two innocent people.
I would have preferred if Cole and his garbage family had died in this scene. They ruined what could have been a great fight and a good movie.
I was scared they were gonna do my boi dirty, but Subzero fought to the death like an absolute G

I finally see a person who knows the truth. Most of the people think it is kuai Liang( the sub zero that everybody knows). But here it is Bi han when he had the warrior name sub zero and not revived by Quan chi, when bi han was revived, that is when he became NOOB or NOOB SAIBOT.

The way how MK9 shows it, is when Quan chi shows scorpion through magic images that Bi Han is killing scorpion's family, but all that IS NOT REAL, IT NEVER HAPPENED. Quanchi was the real assassin that killed scorpion's family.
Scorpion was the only one that was able to hurt sub zero in this movie. I love that detail

Gotta give Sub Zero credit for taking both of them on and holding his own pretty well instead of just running away
2:27 , him throwing off the blue armor to have a black suit underneath is great foreshadowing to him becoming Noob Saibot in the sequel
Another example could be his voice with the mask sounding like Sean Chiplock’s voice as Noob in MK11, but your example is the most valid.

Regardless of how you feel about the rest of the film, this scene alone makes it all worth it.
Literally this fight and the opening one set in the past are the only saving graces of this film.

Sub-zero held his ground strong!!! This is one of the few fight scenes I've witnessed where the villain doesn't give up, he straight up gives it his all until he's done for, much respect to Sub-zero for going all out until the end!!! He held his own there for awhile...
Sub zero wasnt give up when he died trying to defeat Mad Dog in The Raid Berandal. So he wont be surrender without dying in here either.

I honestly love the character designs in this film. It’s a mixture of some new stuff while keeping them iconic. Especially these two and it’s cool to see outfits that are more accurate to their heritage. Not to mention fighting styles.

Hanzo Hasashi died and Scorpion was born: a cruel monster who will never stop until he gets what he wants. having the bloodline plot kind of ruined him because he completely changed from exacting vengeance to saving a family he didn't even meet. Had we seen him more in the movie, or had any other development, this fight would've been well earned.

I wish we had more battle scenes with these two and instead of making coal the main character we follow why not Scorpion. I kind of also wished they did some cool stuff like how in the 1995 version with all the landscape and all the structures and stuff to make it more Mystical really. For a first time director I think this is really good but there can be improvements in a sequel if they plan too like it made alright I guess for a post pandemic film but yeah.

Noob's true power is his ability to job for any and everyone. In the games, he's never won a fight on screen and gets routinely embarrassed by B and C tier characters. But at least he looks cool.
@@robertb.warren4749 in the og timeline he did, but in the new one he doesn't because Ed Boon likes to make Bi Hans characters embarrassing since he thinks scorpion is way cooler than Bi Han's sub-zero/ Noob saibot and what better way to do it than make him lose every fight. That's the only thing I kinda criticize Ed Boon for, it's his favoritism of scorpion over some characters, I like mk9 but it seemed like scorpion killing Bi Han's sub-zero was the main story of that game until chapter 8 even when scorpion wasn't there. 😂

So it's a great fight but I think Young's inclusion actually diminishes it. It should have been pure Sub Zero vs Scorpion.

Well yea, his healing fluctuates to whatever the writer wants, but this movie was generally more grounded. And either way he didn't want to suffer enough wounds to where he would lose and not get his revenge.

Fans of Mortal Kombat this was the epic moment of a long awaited reboot from the 90's version which l still love today! Great visuals and Scorpion's saying GET OVER HERE was the most beloved scene ever!

I'm in love with sub zero. I hope they have a sequel from this movie where Bi Haun's younger brother becomes sub zero but realizes his elder was fighting for the wrong side. I know it's been done before but I didn't like it. They could make it extremely better.

Not Sub-zero, the real Sub-zero is Kuai-Liang, he has been in every mk game since mortal kombat 2
I really hope both Sub Zero and Scorpion are in any sequels that are made.
Well this subzero can come back as Noob Saibot but this is the thing:
- Scorpion is now alive as a revenant in the Netherrealm and he killed Sub-Zero and earned a new dragon marking making Scorpion eligible for the Tournament.
- Bi Han making a comeback as Noob means he would have to kill another chosen fighter to participate.
This entire “Dragon Marking” subplot was a nice addition to the lore but it’s very confusing trying to piece the earning and placement of the marking.
Both are confirmed for MK2 ^_^

@@wikipediaH well because after hanzo comes back, I don't know if he still had is marking so I assumed it disappeared and was passed onto his daughter and the further bloodline and when he killed sub-zero he got the marking back but he might still have his marking and Bi Han can come back as Noob with his marking still intact
I want to see a mortal Kombat movie that follows the two of them on their official journeys. Showing us their rivalry, and Hanzo’s reasoning for hating Sub Zero. They didn’t have to make a new plot for the movie, they have a good amount of source material to make the original story of Scorpion, and his hate towards Sub zero into its own movie!
