Thanks a lot for the great info. I was taking PPI for almost 7 years, and only got rid of them early this year. Just booked my first dexa scan to check it out.
What if a woman had to have bone removed and replaced by metal? As a child, I had Fibrous Dysplasia of the skull. The Neurologist removed a significant part of the back of my skull. I have a steel plate. Will this skew DEXA scan results? Does human bone , cranial bone grow back over the plate? Thanks!
Cynthia this is great ! Thanks I def need this at 56!
Thanks for this very timely discussion! Sharing with loved ones!
Thank you!!
Great coverage here, thank you for addressing this growing concern. May I ask your opinion on the drug Prolia for osteoporosis? Thank you again

I recommend her discussing this with her physician team!
DEXA scans, for bone mineral density, do not scan your whole body. Generally they scan only your lumbar spine and one hip.
It’s called diatomaceous earth (from diatoms) not dichotomous earth! 😂
Apart from that, great conversation
Thank you!
