I guess a good idea if somebody doesn't have the space for the larger model. I've been waiting forever to see if they'd do a 2 player Sega cab minus Revenge of Death Adder and a bunch of new Sega arcade titles, but I think that's just a pipe dream at this point.
When I see this all that comes to mind is reskinned Casinocade.

It should have been $399 for the skinny-ass design that it is... I mean, the 2-player design is a good idea, but it's not a great look (Deluxe tends to have that problem), and the XL version is only $100 more than this. I think it'll be getting a discount pretty quickly.
Arcade1up should have went into the add on upgrade business and they may have came out much better financially

I personally like the different choices of NBA Jam that we have. Shapes and sizes for everyone, I own the NBA Jam 4-player Deluxe Edition and love it. The only negative that I see with this particular release is the price, it should be $349- $399. The more the merrier. We can also buy a 50 lbs bag of sand from the hardware store to help with the wobble 😂

They probably only have these 3 Jam games licensed
iirc Detroit Love had a great tip about that on SGRD about a year or two ago. He suggested putting a bag of gravel in the bottom of the cab to weigh it down a bit.
Honestly on the one hand this is positive because people have been asking for 2-player versions of these games. On the other hand, it's another game they've released before. It's cool for people who don't already own the cabinet and want it, but at this point it only fuels speculation that they can't get new titles, now that John D's no longer with the company.

It’s a rehash that’s coming a bit late, but even though I am only interested in the 4-player models I am stoked for members of the community who have been asking for 2-player models of previous releases. More options for the community is always a good thing, but these should hit at launch and not years later.

They could’ve did the USB port for controllers like they’ve done on the countercades and partycades before. I think that would’ve been a cool addition for this. Otherwise, it’s a more appropriate form factor. They’re at least listening, I guess?

What's the weight of the Casino cade? What's the size of the MDF in that one vs. standard A1Up cab?

Yeah, this is not what everybody wanted. Pretty sure everyone just wanted a regular sized deluxe cab with two player control deck. Just make it an option on four player cabs.

I'd definitely pick this up if I had the space. I live in an apartment and already own 4 cabs. I probably could squeeze in a 5th but then I'd probably be divorced lmao.

Hard pass for me as I'm not really a NBA Jam guy anyway, but it's cool they offered a 2 player version though. I don't like the new cab dimensions though and I fear they're using cheaper MDF also which would certainly shave weight. I hope all cabs going forward aren't going to be like this.

Not a fan of that extra piece for stability at the bottom, the weight is a little concerning I agree 💯. Did they start using 1/4" MDF 🤔 😅 will have to wait for an unboxing/review of the cab to find out.

If this is their future, I'm out. I wouldn't buy this form factor even if it was my favorite game. BUT this would be a great budget line for people who don't want to pay the extra price for a DELUXE cabinet... this is far from being a deluxe cab 😅
Pass on this, XL or Bust moving forward for me. If they’re going to rehash titles put an XL version out, and I’ll replace my 3/4 and Deluxes. And I agree that P-dubs $399 is the sweet spot for a Deluxe.
I hate to say this, but I think that the XL cabinets are one the back burner and deluxe is all what you will get. You could have had a lot of XL being launched by now, but they stopped after two I think it is. All talk of them going bankrupt and the chances of them releasing more machines are on the slim side.
With smaller form factor and less components $399 would’ve been better
@@marknorville4192 Agree, they may not last long enough to put out more XL’s. Like many, I have numerous 3/4, Deluxes, and the Pacman XL. The XL IMO is the sweet spot. Looks closer to the real thing, and 19” BOE is a great size.
@@pyrettablaze7098 The bad thing about these machines though, a lot of them have the same games on them. I brought the deluxe pac man and returned it, it was nice but disappointing. Mappy is a useless game, and horizontal games on a vertical is a massive no in my eyes.
@@marknorville4192 Agree the only change on a rehash is form factor. For me, I prefer the experience in addition to the gameplay. The XL lineup is closer to feeling like the real machine than the Deluxe or 3/4. I would have bought the Shaq XL if it had the BOE monitor. But Shaq’s current price point Non BOE isn’t worth it IMO,.
I totally agree vertical games on a horizontal monitor unless 32” and above is a no go for me. I actually put a Raspberry Pi into my Pacman XL that just has 4 way veritical games on it. Turned out great, and the 19” vertical is a great experience
Skinnier, less sticks and buttons, no lit buttons for the same damn price! Get the deluxe and have 99livesarcade make you a boss deck.

No I don’t like it, if this company wants to survive we need to get some new games and not rehashing this old shit. If they don’t come out with a new game I am done with them.
These are 5 inches less deep than MK2 DLX, and 6 inches less deep than the SF II DLX. All they did was add that bar to try to make up for it and make the cab using less money.. They look awful this skinny, give me a break. Look at the overall size of Pac XL for $599 (or MK & SF DLXs depth at same pricepoint), they're playing people for fools.
Oh, and the 6-7 pounds this one lost isn't a good idea either as you've stated. I wouldn't mind a 2-player, but may consider the DLX with a 2-player deck add-on.

You know with the recent announcement of Marvel vs Capcom collection coming to Switch, PS5/Steam or so I'm hoping a NBA Jam collection can make it back to consoles too. All these games and maybe NBA Showtime or even the NBA Jam 2010. I don't see why they can't do it. I sure rather pay 50 bucks for a collection then for some overpriced junk that's going to end up going the route of Guitar Hero and Rock Band taking up clutter in your home in a few years. The Cowabunga Collection was huge too.

“Casino-Jam” is a lean towards the toy world and further away from replica. If you embrace the “Toy” association, this is easier to swallow. Still a really ugly, cheap toy though.

Nope, pretty much done at this point as its just crap at this point that never gets used anymore. I bought the very first NBA jam edition as I preordered it in 2020 as my third cab after MK2 and TMNT, but now since I have bought almost 15 and none of them get used anymore the resell value to buyers is potentially very small. No one wants these things since they just take up space at this point for something else as a pool table or just nicer furniture. They were fun and cool at first, but no one cares about them anymore as they are just toys. Arcade1up will fail because how many NBA jam cabinets do you need out there? The game back in the 90s itself was just for the time period.
Depends on who you are I guess. I have a ton of these from 1up, Atgames, Unico, custom 3/4 scale I have modded, real arcades. It hasn’t really rubbed off yet. I host parties once a month at least and people come over and play. Last time we had 30 people here. Heck even my neighbors give me a call and ask to come over with their kids. I do think 1up will fail cause of the lack of variety more than anything else, like you said, everyone who wanted an NBA jam has one, but the love for arcades will continue.
@@GalagaGuy88 I understand your argument, but no one comes over for these games at all. Its not like it once was back in the day where they were actually arcade games and you had to pay at the bowling alley or a pool hall. Getting together with friends always resulted in just playing cards. I love the lights flickering of having a small arcade, but it actually doesn't mean anything to anyone else. Everyone I know doesn't care anymore other than the initial "cool look" factor. I dont even play them anymore, and I paid a lot of money for them.
