- The American Express Hilton Honors Surpass credit card is a mid tier hotel credit card with a $95 annual fee. There is currently a great welcome offer available and the Surpass in general offers a ton of value to the card holder. In this video I give a detailed review on the Surpass to help you decide if it is worth the fee or not.

Love my Hilton Surpass. I'm a Hilton loyalist at their mid tier properties and average about 1-2 stays per month between personal and work travel, and this card is perfect for some extra perks with manageable annual fee. The Surpass makes a lot more sense for me over the Aspire since I don't really stay at high-end Hilton properties.
Love Hilton cards! The Gold status the card provides is great! 80% points boost, dining credits, upgrades and those 10 priority pass visits can be quite valuable! Great catch all card for the 1st $15k spend every year! Great video and information! ✌️
I got this card just for the lounge access. I only travel twice a year. 10 lounge access is all my wife and I need for $95.
Going into this video I was hoping you'd convince me of the power of this card because, without any direct credits to offset the annual fee, I've been skeptical of this card. I see how folks could get a lot of value out of it now though! I think the only reason I'd add it is to farm the welcome bonus/upgrade offers, but that's just me. Great video Mark!
@@MrBankRelationsMr Bank would you put the Business card surpass in the same category
As the Honor card
During “C” this card worked for me. Ended up getting to Diamond status since I was traveling a crap load and I always booked at grander inns. Still use this card even though I don’t travel anymore. Thought about the aspire but since I’m not traveling anymore it won’t make sense to me. Great video 🤙🏼
I got this card in early July 2023. Main reason I went for it was the 10-visit Priority Pass. This was the least cost for lounge access. If I ever end up traveling enough for me to visit a lounge more than 10x a year, then I will consider the Venture X or the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
I have that card and the 10 passes they give you I think is more than enough and Hilton status I have always have good experience with them during my stays
With the current elevated welcome offer, I think the Hilton Surpass card is worth it for at least the first year. In fact, I am planning to apply for this card before the July 19 deadline, because I can justify the $95 annual fee with the free night included in the welcome offer. After year one, I will probably downgrade it to the NAF Hilton Honors card. Without that free night, I don’t think the Surpass card is worth the annual fee and it’s unfortunate that this is one of the few cards that has an annual fee that does not have an annual free night certificate. I have the IHG One Rewards Premier card and I don’t plan on downgrading it because it does give me the free night certificate with the $99 annual fee.
I love the Hilton Surpass Card and have Diamond status.Once I reach 15k spend I am thinking about upgrading to the Aspire to get the free Certificate.

I got the No annual fee version. SUB is historically better than the Surpass with 80,000 bonus points + free night for $1000 spend. My limit was another $10,000.
Mark I’ve asked this question on doing a compare on Hilton Business card & personal side
I have the Honor card so thkn about the next step Hilton is my choice of stay when I travel
The aspire card is to expensive right now
picked this up when they had the elevated offer and the free night cert. Couldn't pass it up especially when I got around pop up jail. eventually will upgrade it to the Aspire card.
Do you prefer the Marriott Boundless over the Hilton Surpass card? I'm torn about which one to get...
Mark how does the Hilton honor card compare to the surpass or the Business Hilton .
How often to Amex upgrades cards ??
Surpass was a bust for me. Got it last year for a 130k-150k sub and free night and upgraded it after year 1 to a second aspire.
Just got the hilton business card with the 150k sub and ima cancel after year 1 maybe 2
👍🏻
Can I use the 10 complimentary priority passes for me plus a guest?
Yes....I use the passes for myself and my wife when we travel.
Amex turned me down this week. With a “too many bank card” reason 😪😪😪 I was really hoping to dip my feet into the Amex eco system with this card. Being under 5/24 and a score over 800 I thought it would be a “for sure” approval. Any tips on how I can start building a relationship with Amex??
Once you’re in the door the way to do it is spend a lot with them. Thousands every month. Then they start approving you for anything and giving you insane limits proportional to your reported income.
You might still end up in pop up jail from time to time but that’s unavoidable especially in this economy where banks have been failing recently.
You alive breh?
Yeah I’m alive!
Hey man, how's it going. I've been following/commenting on your videos for a few years - under my @americanomondays UA-cam channel name. I finally made my first credit card-style video - and I'm re-launching my old channel. I actually shot it earlier this year before they made all of the changes on the card last week. AH!!! I'll do an update, but I commented on one of your videos I shot a while back and wanted to say hey and let you know. Thanks, man, Jeff.
