For grades nine and ten, Ken attended a private all-boys school in Newmarket, Ontario called Pickering College. However, for grade eleven, Ken attended Woburn Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Ontario before his family moved to Richmond Hill. Ken has stated his "weenie" stopped growing around this time. After the move, he went on to graduate from Bayview Secondary School.

Just seem weird that you really wanted that tray to do your review. When he has a 4 million views video of the exact same MRE you're reviewing and the tray is the branding of is channel. I guess it's just a coincidence . @@KBDProductionsTV
Hey KBD, welcome to the world of MREs. Understanding they are a tool and not a necessity is key. They are used for those long missions, intense training and exercises, and a tool for immediate energy. MREs purpose is to fill calories. They are sopost to last long. They are sopost to be “tolerable” My favorite MRE to this day is Chicken Noodle Soup or Meatballs in Marinara. Favorite sides are chocolate pudding or the cobbler with a crushed up cookie to put in it. They don’t make them anymore but ranger bars are amazing, granola bar dipped in chocolate. Favorite drink is grape lemonade. And favorite spread is a tie between hazelnut spread or jalapeño cheese. Some tips for next time. Heat your main and spread in hot water to ensure it all gets heated throughout. I personally use a jetboil regularly. Next mix your whole spread with the main course. So put all the cheese with all your main and mix it. Another thing a lot of us carry is our own hot sauce. It’s essential for getting those calories down with some flavor especially since most the time it’s cold. My bottle of choice is Cholula smoked chipotle. Next is my alternative to an MRE. I usually just pack 2 packs per day of ramen. I prefer SHIN black. But red on occasion. I cook it in my jetboil and it’s alot lighter than MREs.
Hey Ken.. I used to watch you when I was 12… about 12 years ago! Today I was at my moms house (who just recently got diagnosed with cancer and needs a lot of help doing things) feeding the dog when I heard her watching your videos in the background! I didn’t even know you still made videos and I learned that my mom watches them all the time and they cheer her up! I thought it was so cool when I heard how much she loves watching! Like mother like daughter!! If you could say hi to Bonnie ever in a video I’m sure it would make her sooo happy! Glad to know you’re still telling us if we need to GO OUT AND GET IT NOW!🎉😊
Love this video ❤ Love seeing you run around & grab what you need for camping, just like we all do.. its so real & my kids & I love jiffy pop!!! This was one of my favorite episodes & the road trip music 🎶 yesss!!!
The first thing Ken does at the campground is sit down, pop open a Step 2, then lights his wood stove with a propane torch. Ken must have been camping with Steve!
I couldn't read all of the comments, but I think there's a trick where you rub the outside of the pot with dish soap before cooking over fire. It makes cleaning later a breeze. Great vid!
Need to get yourself a water bladder. Shouldn't boil bottled water. They filter it too much. Normal water with chloride etc. Boils to a better taste. Another enjoyable video. Mic worked great. MRE top tip. Put the cinnamon bun in the flameless heater too, on the other side of the pad. And knead the cheese before consuming.
MREs are weird, it isn't the age that does them in, it's usually how they get stored. Sometimes how you store them affects the taste of them, haven't done any hard research to conclude this but using an educated guess, I figure that might be why the flavor was off? Hrmmm. But usually the burrito bowl is one of my personal favorites! :)
Rub dish soap on the outside of your pots before putting them over the open wood fire. The soap will stop the black soot from welding to the pot. with the "Pre Soap", the soot will wash right off. Old campers trick!
i’d stock up on salt n pepper packets lot of those mre according to how their made re-runs etc are not supposed to expire. the meals are pre cooked dehydrated as is pulled all the moisture out no seasonings. those meals regardless all taste bad but when your starving needing the calories etc you’ll eat anything. but as a taste test they need to figure out how to get to tasting like a home cooked meal 🥘 with no expiration date no tinny taste 👅 have to shop Ken or ask Paul to do taste tests to improve it etc.
Ah the good ole MRE. The jalapeño cheese is gold…and a ton of calories 😂. The best day was opening one up and finding twizzlers, skittles, or m&ms. The worst day was opening up a MRE that was sitting in the Africa heat and had tuna and mayo in it. The Tabasco used to come in small glass bottles but people were throwing them in the heater packs and they’d explode 😂
MRE's are good up to 20 years. I am a Army veteran and have had many of MRE's over the years I severed. Personally I like the frank and beans and a couple of other MRE's.
Ain’t Really a Marine Yet? Just kidding brother, glad to see a fellow vet here support the Domik Nation! I remember the old school Cold War guys complaining about C-rations, saying how lucky we are to have MRE’s. Hoorah!
MRE should still be edible 10 yrs when you purchased them stored in room temperature, the expiration date is more for how the food will definitively lose its flavor
I've eaten MREs that are 20 years old and they were perfectly good they're not anyting tasty to begin they're just high Cal last you when you're in the battlefield to keep you alive a little bit that's it I've pretty much eaten every variety of MRE there is for the US military
Hi Ken! I love these kinds of adventure videos. I do enjoy some of the MREs, you need to know which ones to get. I really like the Chili Macaroni MRE, and the Chicken Pesto Pasta. It is also great when you get the Lemon-Lime Electrolyte Drink Powder. I take MREs on long hikes.
Thanks Ken for showing us around canadian natur parks ❤ food looks solala 😅 but you have chips in case of getting too hungry, and beer of course. You have made everything right, honey 😊
when i was in, i enjoyed most of them, but one. it was the one with eggs. ewww.. the spag with tabasco sauce was good. The MRE bread was ok, if it was heated.. We also had coco, and coffee with dehydrated fruit. the peanut butter and crackers' was good. It has been a few moons, but i can remember the one i didn't like and the 2 or 3 that was good, and the rest was ok.
Hey Ken, I noticed that you lean your bike against the van. Another option that I think works better is to place your bike tire in the wheel well of your vehicle. The vehicle tire & wheel well will hold your bike without fear of it falling. (I too pedal a Specialized)
i’d would get definitely a swiss army knife. i got the basic it would be nice to have the larger one with more tools. but i guess sold out but you don’t realize you use it more than one would think. the scissors are real sharp for packets of stuff says tear here but didn’t get pre torn. the knife can be used for cleaning the flashlight 🔦 spring for batteries in case they leaked. clean the corrosion off. IF Swiss Army knife company would send their larger model that has more tools. i’d appreciate it. than you. i do have a big buck knife i have used it that’s more of a open a 📦 here their. the wood/ brass work too nice to use all the time.
My favorite MRE was a tie between the spaghetti with meat sauce, and the beef stew. The spaghetti MRE came with this amazing blueberry cobbler dessert. (U.S Army 2012-2015).
Thanks again to Courtney and Darrell for the MRE’s ❤

Never seen ANYONE build and eat a burrito bite by bite? I guess that’s the Canadian in you 😊
It was a bit hard to watch. No one would make or eat a burrito that way.
why would you cool the water to then boil it?
Why do you want the same tray that Steve1989MREInfo is using? At least give him a shout out.
Okay, but many people use these trays

Please put the stove on the ground, Ken! If you knock it over while it's on the table, you'll get burnt by boiling hot water!
Just a question, why were you making one bite tacos at a time instead of just making a whole taco at once? You could of used more filling that way.
Looked very relaxing, makes me wanna go camping! Haha nice video!
Awesome! Thank you!
It's beer o clock somewhere
I would have to be starving to eat that

Did she say 47.46 to park your van overnight? Ouch that is stiff.
That goes to maintenence, utilities, security, park ranger, site taxes.. not simply a parking spot.
17:37-17:39
"Throw your paper in the garbage"
Proceeds to throw it in the fire
7272 means packaged 2017 on the 272nd day of that year
from my under standing the mre is what you get should last all day. but could be worng
Salvation Army or Army Surplus stores would probably have those trays for cheap.
Mmmkay, let's get this out onto a plate.
Might be a dumb question but could you have saved money and slept in the van in the parking lot?
Did seem expensive 🤔
