I have to tell everyone this because it blew my mind. In the late 80's I first followed the directions on the freeze dried peaches and pears in my MRE. Lo and behold after following said directions there appeared right before my eyes actual peaches and pears! The dehydrated foods in these things DO recover and are quite tasty. Bringing back some of the pleasant memories of my ancient past, lol. Another great upload.
The story this time, goes to show why accidents happen with headphones and ear earbuds now adays. Funny story , bringing back memories and sharing them is always welcome :) great video you and ace make a great team for this !
I really love your channel ❤️ all your stories of when you were active duty. Yours and Steve1989 are the best MRE channels. Thank you for your service!
Me Ancient, thank you for another great video and your service. I love when you share you stories from the service. I give your videos a thumbs up before they even start because I know how good they are going to be. Could you please provide me with a link to purchase this MRE for myself from the website or vendor you obtained it from? Thanks again!
Much appreciated, Matt. I googled, MRE for sale and found it on Amazon, I think. Although with this particular meal, I cannot be certain what vendor I purchased it from. There are many available out there. Good luck and TFW!
I always preferred the freeze dried fruit still freeze dried. Though I did add water once in awhile. In two weeks I’m going to be in Idaho and will try Garibaldis thanks to this video!
Those First Strike Chocolate Energy Bars are awesome, they were always in the Cheese Tortellini menu back when I was in basic in 2013. That must be a new menu, I don’t remember this one.
That chicken stew looked really good, too bad there wasn't a little pouch of grated parmesan cheese in the MRE to sprinkle on top of the chicken!! God bless guys, really enjoying these videos!! :)
I remember the freeze dried fruit. it wasn't that great. I never served but my dad did and he would bring home mre's every now and then. that was back when they were new. Thank you for your service. I tried to join the marines but bee allergies kept me out.
Great Sea Story about the truck. Did they ever recover it? The Frigate I served aboard had a young LT.JG hit a whale that stained the bow blood red. We called him Capt. Ahab after that. The whale strike messed up the sonar dome on the bottom of the bow. The young officer was the OOD (Officer of the deck) when he zapped the cetacean.
Were you on the USS Ainsworth, FF-1090? In Nov. 1982, we were just heading across the Atlanticfor deployment, and hit a whale. We had to put into Brooklyn Navy Yard's drydock to replace our sonar dome. I was an ET. We ended up staying there during Christmas.
You get creative wherever you find yourself. Even though the peanut butter packet was like JB Weld, i usually kept a pack or three in my pocket. The cheese packet was coveted and loved by the local catfish
If you can find a chicken and rice from the 90s I always crushed my crackers and put them plus the Tabasco and cheese spread in the heated chicken and rice and mixed it all together
Robert, I earned meritorious PFC, LCPL, and CPL by 20 months. Then I stalled out. Got into a little trouble in Beirut. I was a 2621, Manual morse intercept operator. No longer something USMC trains for. TFW
his videos have thousands of views and only a small percentage actually like the videos. if you really support veterans, THEN LIKE THIS MANS VIDEOS not hard at all
Did you know that you could put the meal package into the sleeve next to the warmer instead to placing it inside the chemical heater? This will keep your meal package dry, and the carton pocket is wide enough to keep more than one package.
If that stew is Mexican then I'm German... And I'm probably the furthest thing from German. It does look interesting though and your reviews are always exciting to watch!
I liked the old 80's fruit is was like eating styrofoam if you didn't add the water. Now I even miss the oatmeal bar that looked and felt like pressed particle board.
you know last night I made dirty rice if you know what that is....I had this shaker of creol seasoning and I put it in there....you putting the pepper on this reminded me of that......got it tooo hot..wife couldnt hardly eat it.....LOL
I agree with the other comments. Look up military surplus in your area. I found one close to me that I never knew was there Hubs was in air force and lost the furry liner thing from his long heavy coat he had from military (it zips in and out and his poofed on one of our many moves) They had tons of them and you could buy cases (12 assorted meals) or pay more and get specific meals.
The pacing on this reminded me of Project Farm. Not a bad thing at all. Also, PSA: don't watch project farm videos, they're awesome, informative and highly addictive! Haha
I was Airforce 1976-1980, then Navy 1980-1986. Never had MREs, but did have C-rats a couple times. Once during fire fighting training. Never got the smoke smell out of my Navy sweater!
The only thing I liked about mine, was the First Strike energy bar. Everything else fell short. Mine came with the banana pumpkin spice mango. Totally disgusting
As a vegetarian MRE the elbow Macaroni in Tomato Sauce was a pleasant surprise. But I boiled the Macaroni pouch on the stove, which helped heat things Evenly. As a non vegetarian myself, I would actually trade for this one.
Ther is a younger fella. Probably not a vet that does more testing. Some very very very old.. Seems his favorite are the cigarette lol. I mean back to the early 1900's. I enjoy your channel more. But they way he acts over vjntgs stale smokes is a riot. Making my want to break into my 90's mre's I have.. Must add water. I'll save them..
I don't smoke the old cigarettes. I have a father, a few uncles and a brother who died of lung cancer. They all smoked. Not interested, other than for the historicity of them. From that aspect, they are pretty cool. TFW, John!

Thank you for helping me live my life the way I do.
Yeah the fruit rehydrated better than the beef or pork hockey pucks that's for sure
The freeze dried meat was a little different…….TFW!
Out of all the MRA channels I’ve watched this is the most absolute wholesome channel I’ve ever seen
Hope you have watched Steve1989 aswell, both are great
right?
Please dont stop these!!! I really really enjoy em! It reminds me of my cousin. He's a marine in Japan right now!
Two videos in a week from the man, the myth, the legend! Love this as always!
I appreciate that you are not ashamed to say grace before you eat. 💕💕
I don't think there is anything shameful in thanking the ONE who provides our food, for sure. TFW!
@@MeAncient Amen! 💖
I have this MRE here at the house. I'm really looking forward to it now. To bad it has no coffee.
Nice review and story.

The MRE videos are getting better and better keep up the good work👍
Lol, I've got a PTSD, and often can't eat for days. But you make such a tasty videos, so I am hungry now. Kek) Thank you!
As always I love your videos! 🥰 Thanks for posting!
Add salt to the water it makes the heater react better so it’s hotter if you put multiple things in the heater it will heat up all of em
I love watching these videos. I will say with the packs of gum I think since the plastic around it is red it means cinnamon. Green would be spearmint.
Love this content:) Love your sons videos too. Big fan of y’all!

Mremountain sells many mres from many countries.
Great review....had a few MRE'S during the 90's when I was serving.....enjoyed you on your boys' channels , now enjoying your channel.
Welcome aboard! Thank you, Seth. And TFW!
I had one of these about two weeks ago and it's probably one of the best mre's I've ever had
Me love you 😘 and Cookie Monster says hello to you and salutes u for serving our country
You are welcome and TFW, Natsuki!
Strange, that the label is in French also. Do we export these things to the Canadian Forces?
I always preferred the freeze dried fruit still freeze dried. Though I did add water once in awhile. In two weeks I’m going to be in Idaho and will try Garibaldis thanks to this video!
I really love you man I get bullied every day and when I hear your voice I feel happy 😁 keep up the good work 👏
I love watching only two of you guys do MRE reviews. You And Steve 1989 MRE. Great reviews
Mexican chicken stew is my favorite MRE menu to watch videos on because it looks so good tbh :o
It was pretty good. TFW
C-rations had the wet fruit as well. Canned peaches in some and pears in others. Usually the better part of a C-rat.
Wow you actually got a cherry!
Congratulations lol :)
Love the story.
Great vid :)
Thanks again, Christine!
We ate this same one today! Was outstanding!
Those First Strike Chocolate Energy Bars are awesome, they were always in the Cheese Tortellini menu back when I was in basic in 2013. That must be a new menu, I don’t remember this one.
I always loved opening those MREs myself also..... It was like Christmas every time.....😁👍
Yes, like getting a package from someone with no birthday or celebration day near.
That chicken stew looked really good, too bad there wasn't a little pouch of grated parmesan cheese in the MRE to sprinkle on top of the chicken!! God bless guys, really enjoying these videos!! :)

That fruit mix reminds me of the fruit salad my grandpa makes. It's good stuff.
Lydia, indeed it is. TFW!
Bf MREs K rations had fruit cocktail and peaches oh were they good
someone, give grandfather a measuring cup so that he accurately measures the water for pouring sublimates and powders ....
Eh??
one of the best MREs , you should really add cheese spreads to the heater however and if theres room , the chocolate drink so it mixes better.
The MRE looked yummy and the story was funny, thanks me ancient🙂
This guy reminds me so much of my grandfather.
My favorite was the dehydrated pork patty. I ate it just like it was in all its dried goodness.
Great video, love the story.
YOU FOUND ONE!!!!!! So awesome!!! Great videos keep em coming.
Cheese spread with jalapeños = nectar of the gods!
Good, but not as good as peanut butter. That's my go to. TFW

Just subscribed to you. Ever thought to do an MRE collaboration with either or both Steve1989MRE or Nathan MRE in some future?
SEMPER FI my brother love the stories & content much love from East St Louis Illinois
How do soldiers get to eat their MREs whilst under fire or in combat? Could you go 2, 3, 4 days without managing to eat them? 🤘🎖
Great vid and story, I am sure Jerome misses you..
Seems like you were rushing. Take your time we enjoy you and these uploads
Those trays are sold on Amazon
looking tasty 4 sure! Italian army food choices weren't that bad considering the poor quality
Would these MREs be good for a all day hunting trip and where do you get them ?? Thanks ! Love your videos !!
The MREs are great for that. You can find them on Amazon, but in my opinion you'll get better prices by heading to an Army surplus store near you.
Yep, Amazon prices are sky high! And often they are outdated.
I agree with the other comments.

I can see myself crumbling the crackers onto the stew
This looks like a good meal I had the pizza crackers before they are good I eat them all the time
The cheese pouches are produded by Welcome in Wisconsin
