Chris, you are one of my top favorite Hikers, I love your laugh and goofiness along with your photography and talents! More scary stories and history please!!
Chris cooks better in high country outback than I do in a fully loaded suburban kitchen. Still my new favorite channel to binge watch. Keep the equipment reviews and spooky stories coming !!
How you can sit there all alone in the dark creepy woods, by a fire casting frightening shadows all about, and tell of unearthly howls and weird footprints and unknown creatures huffing & stomping outside your tent, is beyond me! I'd scare myself to death! I'm sure I'd end up throwing my sleeping bag into the boat and paddling out to the middle of the lake to sleep, and just hope I could keep visions of underwater cryptids from tormenting me all night. Glad you're up to it though, because I enjoy these videos so much.
Great stuff, Chris! One thing I appreciate about your channel is that you focus on the important things: getting out in nature and having a good time. It’s easy to get discouraged watching other UA-camrs because they focus on having the best, most expensive, ultralight gear. Not you. You have nice gear, but you find what works for you, which is normally quality and budget-friendly. I look forward to each video. Keep up the good work, my friend.
I just love everything about your videos, you have a kind soul, I enjoy witnessing. Also, the magical moments & beauty of nature. Learning about camping & outdoor tips... It really gets me excited to go out and try it myself :) And not to mention you are quite creative and skilled with the camera! Last but def not least... the bigfoot stories. I am a believer in bigfoot, and absolutely love getting spooked by the fire, and letting my imagination run wild! Looking forward to many more videos, Thanks for being you! Keep Hiking!
What's up Chris, just a helpful hint , take your lint from your dryer, save in in a bag then take it with you, it's great for fire starter, burns very hot and fast, one more, a candle wick in a block of lard makes a great long lasting candle 👍 stay safe Chris....
@@basecampchris I love how that little peninsula was such a perfect and magical spot . So I guess the small footprint in your story was probably a toddler Sasquatch ... ? Do you think you have ever come across any dog man or werewolves ?
@@basecampchris the photographs are great but one of the things I hate about cell phone photographs is it just seems they flatten out whatever you're looking at and make it less dramatic unless dimensional ... Hard to explain other than to simply say that it will make some of the most dramatic landscapes seam less so .
I'm actually a graphic artist myself, and I would love to buy your merchandise. I always watch your show and I love hearing about Bigfoot. I'm a true fan and believe in Bigfoot. Keep doing what you do and I will keep b watching. Stay safe.
Awesome spot you found There Chris!, I appreciate the effort on filming, carring the camera gear, putting the video together. As always a great job, thanks again for sharing and Let us scape to those cool Places through your videos. Saludos from México, keep hiking!
I Loved camping here in Alaska. Love Watching your Videos especially the Campfire.Your encounters are good also.I have seen Bigfoot, so dont camp in tents anymore since my husband passed. Thanks again Chris.
That was a fantastic video, Chris. I really enjoyed it. Lots of variety - fire-making skills, equipment recommendations, photography, wildlife, and the talk of Bigfoot. Thank you so much for another entertaining video. Keep hiking!
Hey Chris, wheres the beer of the day? ;)..I just found your blogs /videos. I love the suspense the creepy stories especially at night at your base camp. Keep them coming. Also wheres your girlfriend is she afraid to go out in the woods like I do?😏🤣..too many REAL freaky stories have been told of the paranormal in the woods..not only squatchs..but ghosts. And aliens. Also devil like beings, and tall men. Yikes! I'm glad you're there and not me.. you're laughter and guts are a hoot.
This video is awesome. Reminds me of the lakes I’ve fished. Tried your recipe for potato soup. It was very good. The hash browns are a excellent choice to sub the potatoes. It was a game changer. Thanks for telling me! KEEP HIKING
Chris, I would love to buy a hat! This was an awesome video and very relaxing! I really love watching your videos after along, so relaxing! You exude happiness and a very positive energy, love it!
Been just too hot here in Florida for camping, so im camping vicariously through your videos. I love the cooking.. Great channel and you deserve more subscribers 👍
Chris, excellent video...just one suggestion from someone who kayak camps a lot, wrap your pack in a trash bag and tie it off before putting it on the back of your kayak. No matter how hard you try most times due to paddling just get water setting in the dished out area where your pack is sitting causing things to get wet. I use pack liners and waterproof stuff sacks so I'm not real concerned about stuff getting wet inside my pack, but have had super wet shoulder straps and hip belts that can be a bit uncomfortable when its cooler weather👍
Yes a good call...the water finds a way to get in ...as well as the pack falling off into the lake...Yikes! I had some tie off but I need something super secure. Thank you!
Hello Chris we hope your well and keeping safe . we also hope you are having a great weekend so far ? what a way to enjoy the wilderness. to put up camp where ever you can in this glorious world is such an awesome thing to do and BOY oh BOY what a great adventure . we are so glad we fell onto your channel . may you have many more great and wonderful adventures along your way . Kindest Regards Sarah and Glenn
Enjoyed viewing this particular video. When covid-19 hit, that really put a hold for me on outdoor stuff, due to health. Your programs are therapeutic, educational, and fun to watch. Thanks! Slowing I am looking at your collection of adventures. 👍
This is I think the best video you did. The spot is enchanting, the pictures you took were GORGEOUS, the soup you made looked delicious. Everything about the video is fantastic ❤
Chris- I really enjoy your channel. You have a great mix of trips and reviews and everything is from a perspective that I can relate to. Makes me look forward to retirement in a few years when I’ll have time to enjoy that slow pace and get out and explore. Gregg
Oh dear. I am afraid if I saw barefoot prints that big I would go back from where I once came, especially if I was camping alone. Haha! Those looked very bigfootish! Lol. Thanks for sharing your backpack/kayak camp! :)
Funny, I have been asking the locals about Yowies, here in Australia and locally in northern Nsw there have been many sightings. Aboriginal call them Brown Jacks. What a beautiful lake, and camping spot. Enjoy your videos Chris and your logo is fun and inviting.
You bet! My wife , kids and I all got kayaks in the spring and love them, excited to expand on kayaking by using them for overnight trips up north in MN
Awesome adventure! Loved your stories! I too have heard strange sounds by the campfire at Wrights Lake in the Eldorado national forest. Keep on hiking!
Another fabulous post!! Incredible you said you haven't done the kayak backpacking before but you strapped that backpack to the kayak like a pro. Amazing photos you took too. Really neat how the lake and trees look blue in the morning. Keep hiking - from Colorado!
Great video! I enjoy it. I have not been there. Looks a lot like what I see when I paddle in the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota. Thanks a lot for the soup recipe.
I love your videos. They radiate such peace and appreciation of the quiet beauty we often miss rushing around day to day. I also love you showing what you use during your trip--my husband and I want to start kayak camping and seeing what you consider valuable to take is really helpful!
Thank you Wendy! Yes, its a fun way to go...one of the main things is to make sure your gear is totally secure on the kayak...and dry bags for other important gear ( example: electronics ). I'm still working on the best method that works for me.
@@basecampchris thanks for the advice! I’m looking forward to seeing more advice, gear, and adventures!!!! You enjoy your life and this beautiful planet and it shows! 🌎
Wonderful vid Chris I would have been suspious when I saw those tracks. Wow lol next time catch some smallmouth bass and pike those waters got to be full of them. I definitely would have been fishing some. Thanks again and as you say keep hiking!
Hey Chris, great video so far, watching you cook right now lol. I see you sometimes like to cook real food in the wilderness, you should check out the ultra cook kit by firebox stove. Excellent piece of kit! I love mine.
Great video Chris, beautiful area…found your channel recently and been watching your videos for a week now, keep’em coming 👍 especially enjoy listening to the scary stories 😊
Oh yeah, started kayak camping last year & love it! Super nice spot you found there with the fire pit and that point to chill & enjoy the morning sunrise with some coffee...stress level -100. Good morning pic's too!
