- Vincent van Gogh is known commonly to not have had a successful career during his life; one of the first tortured artists. But did he only have one buyer for his art while he was alive? To understand why this belief has persisted for over a century, we should go back to the time he was alive, looking at his peers, the art market, and even his paintings, the remarkable ones and the less so.

I didn’t watch the video yet but this is me testing my knowledge: Vincent was on the yo and coming before he died, Theo and his wife were really getting Vincent’s name out there, and if he lived just a bit longer, he would’ve lived to see success
