How I miss singing with my little community choir in Suffolk. Thank you Reading Phoenix Choir for bringing back such lovely memories of a song in our repertoire.

Really lovely, but why does this recording cut off the last, absolutely brilliant and totally Chilcott, final chord?

Beautiful singing, nice setting, lovely to listen to.
A pity that English speakers et al perpetuate the impossible translation of 'roads rising to meet one'. It's a nonsense. Even in Ireland roads do not rise to meet one! Besides, who wants to be condemned to walk permanently uphill. A correct translation would be 'may your road through life be successful'. Sounds a bit more like a blessing, would one not think?

+David Monks It's a poem, with a text written centuries ago. It's not supposed to be literal. Figurative language, what?
