excellent interpretation. helpful to me as a student. she sees and expresses herself in terms that happen to have elements of her faith, but yet, the poem itself is not necessarily about her faith - aspects of her faith come through- are probably also more recognizable for those of similar faith. Door poem indeed :)
Thank you. I agree, in poetry, ambiguity like this broadens the possible readings and increases the chance that a reader will find a way to find something in it that resonates for them. It can also allow a poem to speak beyond the era in which it's written. I find the same with song lyrics; which are poetry too, of course 😊
Thanks again for this interesting video. Just read that the Tractarians who I had never heard of before got their name from the publications called tracts which they began in 1833.
Hi sir, I've been really enjoying these videos. They have been incredibly useful in helping me prepare for my A level (OCR) exam that is coming up. Is there any chance you would be able to do a video on Goblin Market? Your analysis of the poems is far superior to any other youtube channels and I would love to see a Goblin Market video.
I'm really pleased to hear you've found these videos useful - your request has reminded me that I must make one for Goblin Market! I have started preparing one, hopefully it will be ready in time to be of use to you.
This was the best explanation and analysis I could find on youtube for this poem. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!

You're welcome 🙂

That's right. They were also quite enthusiastic about poetry as a form of religious devotion...
Great vid!
Glad you liked it 👍

شلون نحفضها
Not sure it can be lowered... but maybe how high it feels is a matter of attitude. Some days steep, others easy 😌
My teacher is teaching this in class rn
Hopefully, your teacher and my video can help you approach the poem in different ways. All the best!
