I don't know if anyone feels the same, but, when you're alone, being the only survivor alive makes the game really scary
And that's why I don't play last man or earth or anything like that lol

but why would they make it so you only survive it if you're jumping? nobody would think to do that particular thing to avoid it

Actually, jumping while strafing is what I do in l4d when a tank throws something at me.

L4S2 is a game that requires real mastery to speedrun. Much more so than most other games.
It's satisfying to hear someone truly skilled talk about it because it makes you consider just how great this game's design really is.
I'm not as good in speedrunning but in the Cola section, I throw the bile straight up in the air before opening the door, that air time is enough to give infected some time to spawn, and by the time it drops, I'm already halfway into the market, giving me more time to leave with the bile taking effect. I think it's more efficient so I'd like to share that with someone competent in speedrunning (something I'm not)

It’s been 3 years, and I’m going to be brutally honest here, I’ve watch this video at least 40+ times… And I just don’t get tired of it.
I’m not a speed runner or whatever, but damn I like to see a good speed run gameplay and a good explanation of it. This video actually made me follow Waifu, along with Dante Ravioli’s collaboration.

damn. it takes about 54 minutes to casually complete one campaign. you did all of them in that time. 4x faster than a casual.
It actually was taking 25-35 minutes for me while playing with bots. But it depends on maps I guess and that was a long time ago when I was playing.
An average team takes 30 minutes to complete a campaign

@@nmotschidontwannagivemyrea8932 ik i go with randos and they're all pretty fast, on normal, it takes maybe on average 25 minutes.

This is pretty neat. My four man crew and I optimized our campaigns to about 50 min each.
The panic event for the roller coaster is skipable. Just harder on newer versions
Update: On the new "The Last Stand" update, they have completely removed it. You can no longer do it from the original way.

A new patch re-added the skip into the game, now you can skip the coaster on all modes except versus

Yes, I love commentated speedruns so much. I just got done playing all the way through Left 4 dead 2 for the first time this past week and one of my favorite things to do with any game I've just beaten is find a speedrun for it. So luckily I just had this randomly recommended to me

I'm very new to speedrunning this game, so I don't claim to know more than you, but as someone who's primarily speedrun Chapters 1 and 2, I get biles on the second level of chapter 1. It's isn't super common, but there's a few places where throwables spawn that you can get one at and on top of that, once in a blue moon, the commons in the hazmat suits will drop one.
PS. Thank you so much, this tutorial has been invaluable for learning to speedrun this game.

i don't know if you'll respond to this or not or maybe you explained this in the video, but in the beginning you bhop by just jumping and pressing A and D but you can also bhop by holding ctrl while doing that, is there a reason as to why one method may be preferred over the other or does it not matter in the end?
holding controll does what is known as a croutch hop, croutch hops are way harder than normal hops because if you miss it by even less than a tick you lose all of your speed, it is usefull for measuing your jumps over gaps but is the same speed.
@@WaifuRuns okay yeah thanks that makes sense, i just always would crouch hop because of how i would bhop in versus as the infected. but just to make sure im getting this right, it doesn't matter what you do because you gain the same speed but it matters for speed because you lose all of your speed when being slightly off in crouch hopping compared to the traditional bhopping
