But two weeks after the test, the mental health support worker found out she was, in fact, HIV positive. ‘I was shaking, I started crying. I was in shock. What I knew about HIV is that people will die of AIDS. I thought I had just a few months to live.’

She’s not wrong. But this is a series of medications that must continue for your entire life for that moment on. This is not one small pill you take a day and can forget to take it once a week because you got tired etc. you can die from opportunistic infections with high risk CD4 and platlet levels. That’s the only punishment, you have to take this medication until you pass away.

If you been taking your medications daily and you have good results like good viral and good cd4 than if you miss a day it’s not serious doctors even say just make sure you take your next pill as soon as possible. KillstreakBeats you are right to your opinion. I work in the field, I’ve been extensively trained in sexually transmitted infections as they now call it and I see patients on a day to day basis. It is better to have HIV than HCV or HepC unknowingly but if you don’t take your medications as prescribed, you risk your platelet levels dropping and that’s when the flu ends up killing you, your organs shut down or you risk an infection to a severe degree.
There are not reported cases of patients living with HIV not taking anti-virals after a decade and living. Alkaline diets are purposes for cancer patients who are ridding their bodies of toxins and holistic properties meant to change abnormal cells.
