Thank you so much! Someone ninja'd the books from the Order Hall, but after I did the Broken Isles books they were back. Thankfully, it's been long enough since Legion launched that I didn't have to compete for Hearthglen Church books. This is one of the best artifact appearances in the game, and I'm happy to have it thanks to your guide!
Its an awesome guide, realllyy thanks for the help, it made it way easier. SIDENOTE HERE: you have to take all the books in 1 week, otherwise it will bug out. In this case, you have to talk to the guy, and start it all over again. I highly recommend to take the world drop first and pick up the others after you already have that. This way you know exactly when you will do the quest and you wont have to do it 2 times if u accidently reset it. I really hope i could help you out and you wont sit on a bookshelf pointlessly for 5 hours just like i did now.
Note for anybody super behind on the times and is doing this now, like me: they've updated it so that after the week has passed, you need to talk to the dwarf again, but it doesn't reset the annals that you've already collected.
I'd half completed this before I got bored, when I decided to pick it up again, I couldn't remember how far I'd got so figured I'd start from the beginning and see where the first lootable book was, to my surprise the first few books I remember getting had respawned and I was able to loot them again. So when I had 12 (skipping the last 4 books in this guide) I figured I'd try my luck and hand it in #denied wouldn't complete til I'd done all. Thanks for the guide, it made it a breeze :)

Just a note - it's does appear you need to speak to the dwarf on the bench first. The other books did not appear for me until I had gone through his dialog. Thanks for the video.

Kinu Holy one is really nice but my Priest is an alt and is not exalted yet :( Hyrja only drops the thing when you get exalted sadly. I am just collecting every hidden artifact since Blizz said if you collect them during Legion they will be transmog sets which you cant get later on haha!

Can anyone help? I was able to find the book from the Archivist Inkforge, but when I went to the other 2 locations in the class hall noted in this video (the one near Huvess the Duskwhisperer and Meridelle Lightspark), the book was nowhere to be found. I was able to locate the one Dalaran in the Violet Citadel though.
Thanx for the information just looted Holy Priest Hidden from Hyrja so I decided to hunt discipline Hidden since Shadow which is my MS wasn't dropping since EN released, meanwhile i joined LFR and got Shadow Hidden too, what a day xD
Thank you for the note about being at Knowledge level 4. All the information I could find up to this point just said, "Go collect the books, easy peasy, durpadee durp." I was so lost, wondering why I couldn't collect any books. I still have a couple days to go for my level 4 knowledge. lol
Just a heads up. If you are on the priest class quest that brings you to new hearthglen and phases you into an area where all the mobs at 110. You will NOT be able to get the last book, it does not appear in the 110 phase. You must not be on that quest and be in the phase that the mobs are lvl 70/71 to see the last book. Don't ask me how I figured this out... >.>

currently preparing my priest for bfa (planning on rerolling priest). Im stuck on the 12th book... simply doesnt spawn. ive been camping it for hours all by myself (no other priests) and it doesnt show up... im mad (
Thank you for this, I'm sure #12 is the most difficult one to get because cross realm(for me anyways) didn't work. I had to camp it with about 7 other priests.
Lovely guide, found the first 11 with ease.. now waiting for the last one to spawn, the one hour timer seems off tho. been standing here for nearly 2 hours now :) And have realmhopped to like 50 groups in that time, no luck so far :p
i did this at one shot and i finished the 2 solo low dungeons and did a full Kara run as a bonus for farming some mogs and it took me like 3 hours or less to get all the books and thank you for your awesome guide.
The problem with this quest is, some if not most of the books don't show up at all. Waited for 4 hours at one spot and the book never spawned, so this is pretty bullshit if you ask me
this is cool , but i think ill get the mage tower artifact instead. that thing is amazing! i think ill get this hidden appearance via my shadow hidden artifact pvp kills.
How typical, Archivist Inkforge is 'Unknown' for me. He just sits there on his bench, not even making sound when I click on him. Can't even start a conversation with him so I hit a brick wall pretty much instantly. Maybe better luck next time.

Here what happened to me. Yesterday when i get AK4 i was start to quest talked to Archivist Inkforge and than i collected 12 tome today. Then when try to talk to Archivist Inkforge nothing happen. no any dialog. same as you guys. Then again saw this forum and start to search for 13 book again. I found 2 extra book inside the Temple but they are not stack and everytime i found a book i try to talk the NPC but nothing happen again. so i think its bugged and now i will try to collect all 12 book again maybe it will work. Ok here is the problem solved. The reason of why some of us need to collect more than 12 Tome ,cuz some of them bugged. I did look again all the book and some of them not here . so i keep looking again other book and finnaly i loot it again some of the book. Finally i had 15 book. so some time some of the books are bugged , even you loot them at the end of the collect 12 book if you get nothing from NPC Archivist Inkforge . Go loot all the book with same row you did before. I finnaly looted 15 book and go visited again NPC Archivist Inkforge than finally he talk to me and give me the Skin. Good Luck guys.
Your guides are awesome! The only constructive criticism that I have is that bailing on a timed run instance (VH ) is kind of a jerk move to do as a healer, you know? Other than that, thank you for all the information, It is appreciated!
You aren't doing violet hold xD But okay - I bailed on Blackrook Hold, but to be fair getting another healer/tank nowadays takes 1min since it places you in the first spot in Q :)
Finally got my Priest to 110, she is number 12... I am trying to find these darn books but some are not there! Is there a dozen times or something? I have 2 of the 12, might skip ahead and see if any of the others are there.
Hi, I took all the books, I'm 12 in the backpack, but when I talk to the inktforge npc nothing happens. I am AK4. Please Kinu, help me. I opened a ticket and the GM can do nothing to help me. Just reported that more people are having this problem.
Are the dropped books not 100%. so far I can't get any npc's to drop the book. I've got 6 others but I've been killing Chief bitterbrine for 2 hours with no luck

Pretty sad. Just picked up the first book from Inkforge, ran over to the second location and there's no book...or one in the third location. :(

that is, because nobody knew you'd need it. In beta it was available straight away (sort of).
Make sure you enter old kara next to the summon stone and not the new one uptop

I think you are brought into this phase when you do the quest for one of your artifact weapons, think it was shadow :)
If you are on the companion quest to rescue the Mariella the Heretic from the Onslaught it sets the instance.

I sent a ticket and they said they know about the bug and the QA team is working on it but they don't know when the fix will roll out.

You might be right. I only did this right after reaching my AK, and they were all there, but I can imagine they are shared with other priests.

I solved the issue by collecting another book again and giving to the npc. Sorry my bad english.
