Unfortunately, Black Cat does not work anymore. Instead of farming at 420 speed, farm at 400, depth strider 3 while holding W. If you do not want to hold W, farm at 298 speed, but this will have less efficient lane swaps.
note that he uses depth strider 2 and not depth strider 3 on his boots. You can also press the W key while farming with depth strider 3 for the same effect

I would argue holding forwards (binding it to space aswell for ease) is better because now the only buttons youre alternating are left and right plus the added facts that'll youll remain close enough to break the melons without deviation.

Which with depth strider 2 on soul sand the number was equal to using depth strider 3 on soul sand but with holding W while holding A/D. The speeds multiplicative factor was the same for both. And i also timed using both methods and got the same result in time from one end to the other.

With the new pest update, I find it's better to use wooden trapdoors instead of iron as they tend to get stuck in them, making it impossible to kill them
to anyone watching, if you choose to make this farm going north to south then you will have to place the ladders manually since the builder ruler breaks with ladders goin in that direction.

If anyone is having problems with getting stuck even after adding trapdoors i fixed it by making my boots deps 3, using 411 speed and holding down W all the time so u hug the block infront. (This also makes so u switch to next lane without having to press down W in the end)

And here you go, its set perfecter then youd probably ever achieve by doing it manaully since you always have something like yaw: 0,000344 or smth and you can also in mid-farm easy set it perfect again if you forgot to view lock and messed up your position.

Additional Note you don't need water for melons or pumpkins once the stock is fully grown so the melon or pumpkin will keep producing so this design will remove the problem with bouncing the players enter and exiting water. if you wanna do even more effective farm future proof design you will want to remove water *(BUBBLES) and if they ever do any updates where soul sand adds the bubbles back this will prevent the player from just bouncing around. so just use sponges, I don't know if this decreases the tick rate of growth but they still grow w/o water. When I’m farming I notice that when I’m running to the left it starts to miss blocks unless I turn a bit to the right and when I’m running to the right I have to turn a bit to the left to be at -0.0 or else it missed more than half of the pumpkins, anyone else have this issue and find a fox that doesn’t require me using my mouse?
Assuming you use the 155 speed 3 melon design (drop as your saying its almost instant) you have to Swap between stacks as 3 is not infinite. This you dont you take 0.5s to get between lanes and carry on farming.@@PFcreationsTTV

No, This farm is built for 420 speed and the corners make it so that you are traveling faster because you are running on layers of snow instead of soul sand.

You can also use depth strider 3 with speed capped at 297 for almost the same effect if you don't have the black cat pet
ds3 holding w with 400 speed also works

place a layer of any block at the very top of your plots, the pests will spawn on the layer instead of your farm

if your on ironman you can do it with 3 plots just make 6 rows insted of 4 im garden level 10 and it worked great

You can also just have a cactus cutter in your inventory to get to speed 420

there's a tiny chance you get stuck in a normal block because the character model has to step up quickly

12 rows is all that is needed for garden 10 and above. you could also place 12 more for a pumpkin farm and still have room left over for that plot

you have a higher speed thus less downtime between the rows. Also you are farming 3 melons/pumpkins at the same time.

wondering why you can't just do a speed of 140 and use no black cat and no soul sand..
cause when you switch lane you're on a regular block and so you switch at 420 speed instead of 140 reducing the down time
