    Thanks Joey,
    I have been watching your videos for a long time. I had a jebaco pump that i was using for your 5-gallon bucket video. I eventually switched to a used fx6 for that tank. I am changing filtration in my community 40 breeder and added a 20 tall tank as a sump that i had lying around. the drilling was so easy after watching this i even did it with fish inside drained to 25 percent. I added 2 3/4 bulkheads staggered one higher than the other and it worked absolutely perfectly, so much that i added my hang on back filter as a redundant filter.

    Bad ass Joey making it look easy!! I'm too chicken to even try. I just now have the confidence to re-seal a tank. It's nice to know if I really needed to these videos are here to refer back to.

    I’ve drilled a few tanks before after watching your vids. This was a great video. Instead of you saying you’ve done videos before and actually doing a new one is great. Your last acrylic tank video has some different info then what you had in the other ones and inspired me to get back to work on my 500 gallon acrylic tank.

    Do you have to worry about the glass dust getting into the system? Will the tiny glass particles hurt the fish?

      @@krabrangoonies1071 Its harmless. it doesn't get in the tank, but if it did... its so little that you dont see it. Plus.... its basically fine sand.

      No. it wont do anything.

      Glass dust would be very similar to sand and sand doesn't necessarily harm the fish,i believe it would be a different case if there were glass shards

    Another tip if you're on your own is to get a plastic water bottle and put a pin hole near the bottom, fill with water to cool the hole saw and adjust the water flow by tightening or loosening the cap, set it up near the hole on a bucket or whatever you have at hand, works a treat!!

    3:12 talk about no pressure Joey
    No pressure at all, if yea pust to hard, that might shatter the tank, no pressure 🤣

    Was thinking doing this on a 40 gallon breeder. For a rear overflow.
    Will this cause weakness ?
    Want to drill rear top center or top corner.

      If I remember correctly, you can get some polarized film or polarized sun glasses and you could see a wavy pattern on the glass.

    What’s the smallest tank size (thinnest glass) you can drill effectively. I’ve cracked 10g tanks damn near every time. Don’t know if it’s worth trying on my 20s.

    • @thekingofdiy
      @thekingofdiy  Рік тому +4

      any thickness is fine. Thin glass will crack with too much pressure, speed or not enough water.
