@JSS NY22 I’m sorry, but whatever mix is that of Ashkenazis, they look nothing like Mizrahis. We recognize you well as part of our region, but we’re extremely repulsive towards that European cocktail, we totally fail to correlate. Plus, you completely missed out the fact that Yemen was never really an Arabic country. Before Islam, they spoke their own language (Himyari or Old Saba’i).
@JSS NY22 Levantine people got significant admixture with south Europeans due to many historical overlaps and this explains the similarities between them and the other Mediterranean Europeans. After all, aren’t we all are mixed? :) However, I’m talking about the general phenotype of Mizrahis, they look totally Middle Eastern like the rest of our crowd. I never said Ashkenazis are all blonde Russians, but their overall looks different than the rest of the Middle East. Its fact well recognized, there were even cultural challenges between them and the Mizrahis, similar to that between a German and a Spaniard. I’m denying that Ashkenazis do carry some semitic blood of course but the admixture with Europeans plus the converts did contribute a lot to the contrast that resulted in this perception. You might still disagree or I might be wrong. Either ways, I’m happy to see a Syrian Jew. I’m from Dubai, ethnically I’m Persian though my maternal grandfather is Arab. I’m happy to finally see my country normalize relations with Israel, it’s about time we accept this reality and coexist together.
@JSS NY22 I’m sorry to hear of your family challenges, I can feel the pain of separation between people, their relatives and homelands. The Palestinian people have been manipulated so badly by their own politicians who are extremely corrupt and got no vision other than filling their own pockets with money from the gulf countries and EU. Hamas is horrible, they are sacrificing innocents lives for a loss battle. A mouse can never fight a lion. In the principles of Islam, protecting an innocent soul is more important than any mosque because the mosque is just stone after all. But clearly Hamas got a mutated version and only people are suffering. Right wing Israeli politicians can be extremely arrogant, brutal and disrespectfully unreasonable. Again, the good people in Israel are suffering and living in isolation from their surrounding. I can assure you, once the political agenda is extracted out, our people will easily and nicely mingle with each other. I plan to visit Israel with my family and try to make friends there if I could :)

Ofra Haza is the best Middle Eastern singer the twentieth century has produced hands down! Her songs touch my heart to such an extent that I (sometimes) find myself crying uncontrollably. I'm a Lebanese practicing Shi'i Muslim by the way.

what do the numbers mean in your transcription?
They represent the letters which do not exist in other languages. So Arabs use numbers to represent them. The letter "ayn" becomes 3, the letter "haa" becomes 7 etc.

As mentioned, I did not look carefully but my first impression is both Women are absolutely stunning in their Beauty (referring to their music and soul, of course). I've tried to put all the bits of translations posted here and my own together:, feel free to correct me, I only speak some Hebrew:
The first and third parts are in Arabic. The middle part is Hebrew.
My guess is that this is a traditional song in Arabic, with lyrics in Hebrew added later.
At the beginning, MC speaks in Hebrew, and says,
"...texts that spoke of difficulties between him and her, between her and him, between him and her parents, etc."
Then he says, probably translating from Arabic:
"Shabda'aba Kadaiki the merciful, I will trust in you and call you my god. Come, help me to find my love."
[First part of song is in Arabic, which I don't know. I copied these lines from other postings, thanks!]
" I will start exalting you oh merciful (lord)
Oh the one whom I beg, Oh You who's holy and high

1:13, Hebrew verses begin:

(the last words are tricky, probably archaic or Arabic, I'll try: )
'... a message of home and redemption.'"
Chorus:
"Come to me, to the sea, come to me
Kiss both my eyes, come to me."
(It uses the particle "na" which makes it more polite, like: "Please come to me, won't you kiss both my eyes?"
Then the male backup singer playfully crouches to the female backup singer and mouths, "Come," which she declines.
Then at 2:18 Arabic again

Mr,Mustache my guess is because this is an Arab Hebrew song and Ofra is Yemeni Jewish, the Hebrew parts are influenced by Arabic and not standard Hebrew
