I like how you can’t take a truck down the roads but a tractor and loaded drill is perfectly fine 😅
Hi Mike, I've personally haulage lots of the older 20ft containers full of beans that came from Canada into UK ports & delivered them to various baked beans factories. We British love baked beans, baked beans are good for the heart & the more you eat the more you'll fart!🤣
Pfffft...😂
Great video as usual Mike.
Agree with you 100% that emails and phones dont go together. 😂😂😂
God bless from Australia.
Congratulations on 200k subscribers. Great UA-cam channel. Alway enjoy all your interesting videos.
I can already see the people asking Mike if he’s getting the new 9rx 830 haha
Haha just wait ,next video every other comment is about it
I always appreciate the learning vids. I had no idea how it works and now I have a clue. Thanks for educating us Mike.
I used to work for Canada Malting. We had 2 facilities (Vancouver and Montreal) where we would use a blower to blow the malt into bagged c-cans. For larger shipments that went overseas, we would send malt via trains to Vancouver and Thunder Bay for bulk loading directly into holds of ships. It was usually offloaded from the ship holds at the destination port with clamshell buckets.
I get a bazillion emails as well. Mine is sorted by contact that keeps me from overlooking or deleting something important certain folders get archived monthly. I’m sure you are aware of this. Just a very efficient suggestion.
Awesome! Have a good friend in Quill Lake.
Hi Mike. In the UK mostly we don't get paid until 28 days later. Money paid direct into your bank and results are emailed. One of our merchants is 25th of the month after delivery.
Great video Mike
Alot of good Info mike, thanks for sharing,
Did you hear about the 900,000 bushel bin collapse in Indiana there last week I think, trippy farmer has video of it, the video of it collapsing is insane, completely full of corn too, it's just gave way, something failed, crazy footage
Yeah I saw it on his channel crazy
@@Mygirlfriend3141 insane amount of corn, probably could hear it a mile away
Love the videos Mike!
Congratulations on 200k. Subs
Interesting sir the perils of suppling us non farmers with edibles i really hadnt thought about comodities and who gets stuck in big market fluctions thanks mike
My father hauled bulk canola and we put plastic up in a 53’ Reefer Trailer with load-locks and in California, they would lift the trailer and truck way in the air and it flows out. I think it was already pressed for oil at Cambra Foods and this was the leftovers.
Looking at Quill Lake weather this morning doesn’t look very nice. Snow, wind, rather nippy. Always worried about your check when we had a dairy. Check was a month or more late after delivery. Thanks for the information on marketing.
We'll have winter for another month and half in this part of the world. Remember it can always get too 🥶 cold but it can never get too hot
realy good Mike
From Ga,we buy 50 lb bags of hard winter wheat for bread.
Either Canadian, or Montana.
Would be interesting to know how many terminals it goes through before being brown bagged for us.
That ol bird shit covered tractor buggin ya😂😂👍.
When I saw the video title "fly by nighters" I thought it was going to be a video of Mike blasting those birds at night lol.
Go get'em Mike!
Mike what u think about jd new 830 hp tractor..something u think u could use ?
Good subject Mike, thanks for sharing. Are there any farmer-owned cooperative grain buyers?
I used to haul to a “fly by nighter” hauled 70-100 loads of Ddg into them and was amazing paid well but holy cow was it a shot hole… but man their checks were always good loading sea cans and loaded them onto trains and went to Houston to get shipped to china
I had never heard of lentils until I started following you. Now I see that lentils are a popular food in India.👍
I used to work for that company
Central Alberta here just got a dump snow over night. Hope it comes your way. Looks like you need it
We're still getting it
@@Mygirlfriend3141 yup. Most snow we’ve had all winter

Do you get a lot of ground moisture from the snow, or do you find it runs off because the ground is still frozen as it melts?
I know the guy that washed your trailer 😂
For your peas if you haven’t before you should look into belle pulse in duck lake sk I’ve hauled from your area to them before
Morning
Magnifique camion et les remorque et les cilo à céréales et bien grand 😂😮😅😊
It’s like u drag the drought wherever u go. Lol
It's a special skill I have 😆🤷🏼♂️
@@mikemitchell2554 we should start a resort.
no snow Mike do you predict a dry growing season coming up?
its time too demo the new 830hp john deer quad track now!
We had farmers not get their money from a local elevator due to embezzlement. The manager stole money for many years. He lived the high life on the farmers money. I heard one farmer was out over a million dollars. The manager is in prison now, but the farmers will get pennies on the dollar at best.
After I got taken in hindsight I always sell to three different elavotor I don’t care what the name is ,and the one that went bankrupt every one that got paid within 60 days before had to bring the money back it’s called clawback you learn a lot
Mike, I see John Deere came out with the new RX series 710, 770, 830 HP, are you going after Deere to get you a demo? I would really like your review after running the new Stieger 715 and then the new John Deere 9RX. Just saying....
Hey Mike have you seen the new John Deere 9RX 830? They don’t have DEF anymore!
👍
I bet the snow came in the last 24 hrs haha.
I sell organic wheat in Utah and the place we take it doesn’t pay us for 30 days. Feels like an eternity
Hey, what is a sea can? I’m from Australia we don’t use that term. Cheers mate 👍
Shipping containers the 20 foot to 45 foot long containers you see on ships trains and trucks
Yes we do sea can is a universal name worldwide. A 20 foot or 40 foot steel box made to haul cargo and can be securely loaded onto ships, trucks, rail.
For me getting the paper statement that’s actually big enough to read is a trust but verify situation.
Now most of these stations are probably very automated but where I am some of them aren’t. Those that aren’t are just manual data entry and mistakes happen from time to time.
Ask me how I know 🤦🏻♂
I was in the situation a year ago had liens recorded at sect of state office the federal govt gave the money to the big bank and screwed the farmer
Is that a colony where you had your truck washed.
Yes
Hey mike have you seen John Deere has answered your question as for tractors
🤔 What question? I have not no

Yeah he did

Been some smaller specialty elevators that have gane bankrupt.
Bad deal for farmers.
Mike, what is your opinion of the AF11 Case combine
Red new holland
Red CR11😂😂
Oi 💪💪💪💪👏👏👍
Mike, the reason they have two ways to tell time is because people 30 and under can't tell time with a clock. Schools in the United States rather teach a man can woman are a cat. I remember in 1980's and 90's farmers lost their farms because they had corn and beans stored at grain elevators that were in trouble.
Funniest most trumpian comment for the day..Keep on wining L.FAO
@GhostRider-dp2tc so you have trp derangement syndrome lol
I'm retired now but when I started working an old timer coworker told me.....every time you get a couple of bucks saved up there is always a bill for three
My guess is you woke up to more snow this morning especially if you are at Northern farm due to the Alberta Clipper that is passing through western Canada 🥶💨❄️❄️💨🥶
Cold out here in Alberta
Mikey hot the big time at 200K!!! WooHoo. I'm shocked these so called fly by nighters don't have to carry mandatory insurance to keep the farmer healthy on their deliveries. That's ridiculous IMO
This weather in February isn't unusual, people just don't remember past years.
It’s 60°F’s and 70°F’s in the upper Midwest and snow we haven’t had that all winter and the flowers are growing… this isn’t normal.
We’ve had a few winters like this in northern Alberta as well through the years. Remember one winter supervising logging operations, we didn’t hardly get below -6 celcius all winter. Made it hard to freeze in roads. Think it was 2001, cause we had bought a new loader tractor and never plugged it in once to feed that first winter. There were a few in the eighties as well when I was a kid. Cows grazed on pasture half of the winter a couple years.
@@crandonborth In the 70's they said we were heading into a ice age, they stopped saying Global warming and started saying climate change because the climate is always changing, that's normal.
Bro - check the snow levels in the mountains - they are a fraction of a dry year (e.g., 2001). All the irrigation districts in Alberta are advising farmers to plan for very low water levels.
Last year winter lasted longer. This year we hardly had winter. Weather always changes.
Everybody wants their money including you. 😊
Cheques in 21st century... 😳🤣😁🤔
Much prefer them and hard copy invoices 👌
👋🏼😎
It no good getting a cheque in England as they have closed all bank branches you would have to post it to the bank to pay in more time and possibility of it getting lost😒😒
That new Case 715 looks like a little tractor compared to the new 9R 830 Deere. Time to demo one and pull that 100 drill up those slopes!
Hi Mike! Why isn't it possible for farmers to directly sell their grain to those who the terminals sell it to?
I guess those buyers want to buy huge amounts of grain at once, like shiploads or trainloads. And then there is logistics. Filling a ship in harbour has limited time frame, which only big companies can operate in.
Farming and international bulk logistics aren't really similar businesses. Different people are required. Very large farms still won't have a salesman able to make a grain sale to Egypt or Malaysia.
Your lack of snow is concerning. Do you rely for heavy snow ❄️ to provide your crops with adequate moisture to start the growing process ?
Snow helps keep the water table up and/or the dugouts full for the cattle guys. But I have never lost a crop due to lack of snow. We rely on the spring/summer rains
Hi Mike. Any comment on the cereal oats pesticide issue that US environmentalists are blaming Canadian farmers for?
Great question, I don't know alot about it because I don't grow oats. But I am pretty the chemical in question "Chlormequat" which is used as a plant growth regulator... Which means that the farmer uses it to stunt the growth so that he's not harvesting 5ft tall straw for example and by doing so it can put the nutrients into seed production vs straw production.
@@mikemitchell2554Thanks. Go Oilers Go!
Why do they ban lorry's on some roads ?????
The roads thaw out and the weight of the trucks cause a lot of damage to them,
Nice to see you don,t have the ridiculous US style grain legs, elevating grain 100ft up to let it fall down again, the logic of those things beats me
On our irrigated farm in South Texas, we don't waste water washing vehicles, tractors, or equipment unless absolutely necessary. Water grows our crops, food, and animals and each year it is diminishing not because of climate change but because of extreme immigration. Hell, Mexico City is about out of water. 22+ million people and no water.
Sounds like typical business practices except you get paid within 10 days? GC work sometimes would go 120 days before payment. All subs on a project would generally finance a project. No bank needed for some like walmart and the like. And then, some projects would bail on payment all together. And then ask you to bid their next project. Farming sounds like a better bet than building for sure.
I wish you well young man. The economy is getting to that iffy point for many. Say your prayers.
I hate waiting on getting paid for my crops but growing lentils it seems to be a necessary evil. That being said, the longest I’ve waited on a cheque is 6 months and it was no specialty outfit. Cargill.
Wow! That's crazy, nearing old wheat board days 😆.. Thank goodness that joke of a board is gone!
Pretty rediculous when the biggest company in the world takes the longest to pay you. 😂
@@Ole_CornPop yes, and frustrating when they are earning interest holding money that isn’t theirs.
