If Joe Bonamassa could write he'd be as big as John Mayer. It's just that most of his songs come across as an excuse to play a solo. Not that he's not awesome because he clearly is. I'm just saying I think that might be the reason he's not a household name outside of the wold of guitar nerds like myself.
Just saw you at the Portland Theater in Portland Oregon and the sound was awful. All that could be heard was bass and drums above everything else at a ridiculous volume. This seems to be the general trend at professional shows these days. Basically, $150 + for noise.
Joe and his band make such good soulful music. A gifted guitarist and band. Such a pleasure to listen to their music
