- Here is another kayak review brought to you by Frontier Outdoors. This is an amazing little boat. It is super fast, stable, very spacious. This kayak was obviously very well thought out, once you paddle this kayak you can see how well all of the features of the kayak work together.
In my opinion for the price this is an excellent kayak with high end features I would expect from a more expensive kayak. It is a rudder ready/power pole ready. The Kaku boasts two dry storage hatches, both have bags underneath to hold belongings that can be pulled out to access the hull, my things were completely dry at the end of the day despite the rain and the hatches are very easy to open and close. The aluminum tracks that hold the foot rests are very steady and feel very nice when you really bear down on them while paddling. Also as I stated in the video the Kaku boasts 4 top loading yak attack gear tracks!

Chuck Boots Bad Fishing Thanks man. Its a great kayak especially for the price. I've been busy pre fishing for tournaments lately and haven't brought the camera along but am hoping to have a new video up next week.
you didnt mention stability, which is the primary reason im trying to upgrade, thought?
Jeff Earl I can't speak about standing stability because I haven't personally tried that yet. However I know alot of people stand and fish from their Wahoo regularly. When the weather gets warmer I will definitely give it a shot, I'm clumsy and don't want to go swimming in 50 degree water haha.
As far as sitting down stability, the Wahoo does excellent. That is the reason the kayak doesn't have a low seating position, with the stability of it there is no reason to have to position the seat lower.
I have a Wahoo and love it. I stand in mine without any issue and I'm still new at it. I took it out last week on a very windy day and had no problem cutting right through the chop.
Jimmy It definitely handles chop well, by far the most dry kayak I have ever paddled.
How does this kayak paddle and track
ReelinTension its one of the easiest and fastest paddling kayaks that I have been in. It tracks pretty straight also. Would be an awesome big water or ocean kayak for sure.
What size paddle are you using with it? I'm buying one within the next week and I'm trying to decide between a 250 and 260cm

I am sold on this kayak except for the fact that it has no high seat position to utilize while fishing. While you were fishing did you find yourself wishing you could put the seat up higher?
JP 1242 While it doesnt have a high position, the seat sits higher than most kayaks in the "low position", to me the height wasnt a problem. I would definitely demo before you buy, the Nucanoe Flint is out now this year at the same price point of the wahoo, but is more of a river kayak, while the wahoo would perform better in bigger water and the ocean.
NeverDunnFishing I think it’s gonna come down between the wahoo 10.5 and the SS107 from bonafide when it comes out.
JP 1242 I cant speak for the 10ft bonafide since they aren't out yet but the ss127 was amazing when i demoed the prototype last year
NeverDunnFishing How did the speed of the SS 127 compare to that wahoo?
JP 1242 The speed of the wahoo vs ss127 was very noticeable but the stability of the wahoo isn't able to come close to the ss127. After this video I did stand in the wahoo, and can't say I felt super comfortable standing in it.
how stable is this kaku compared to nucanoe frontier 12 which i have ?

The Off Grid Prepper Its not going to be anywhere near as stable as a frontier 12 as far as standing goes. I would recommend maybe purchasing a peddle drive system for your Frontier when it becomes available, instead of buying a new kayak. just wondering the wahoo how stable was it and did you try standing in it ? and how was the stability standing
I personally never stood in the Wahoo, out of the couple months I fished out of it. However, there is a local guy who has a wahoo who stands in his regularly. He is a big boy, so I would say for most people it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks for watching and commenting!
