Again Jack your talent for harmonizing the most natural elements into the home landscape is what allows you to shine. You sir do it with such ease! Thank you
Hi my awesome friend thank you so much for sharing that awesome garden video with us today I can’t wait to see what you do hugs and kisses from Grandma Sandy
What an awesome job on this space. I love your work. So glad Laura from Garden Answers introduced you to me. So many great ideas. Thanks for the inspiration.
Wow What a beautiful project. From the site to the individual plant selections. Even the moss covered tree branch is such a "Jack Barnwell" touch. Well done. I look forward to seeing a tour of this project later in the season.
I have a woods property so seeing all your woodland garden design is so inspiring. Kudos to whoever shoots, edits and picks the sound tracks for your videos. Top notch
As a native plant nerd, I really appreciated your walk in the woods! The lady's slippers are just gorgeous. The stone stairs - as usual with your projects - look like they've been there forever. :)
These videos are very inspiring as well as educational. Love learning about woodland design as I’m developing a woodland garden outside Nashville. Looking forward to a visit to MacKinac sometime soon.
Love this so much! I live and work in Seattle, doing yard restorations for properties about to hit the market. That usually leads to the second part of my work, upkeep and installation of gardens at the homeowner's new property. I chuckled when you went into the woods looking for mosses. I yelled at the tv, "he got that idea from me!" Those stone steps are fire!
Loved this. The flagstone and big rocks you always use are just stunning and really bring something special to your garden spaces. thanks for the tour! Keep em coming!
There aren't enough words to describe the beauty that you and your team create. Just amazing. I have a question though. With all the slopes and that steep embankment, won't you lose a lot of the mulch when it rains ?
Love the Pagoda Dogwood and that's the perfect place for it! The staircase...incredible! The treasures you found worked perfectly too! Thanks for the before pictures amazing transformation! Cheers!
I’ve loved watching this project from the get go! I moved from a lifetime in Southern California (zone9-10) to Wisconsin (zone 4-5) 3 yrs ago. It’s been quite a learning curve! I sure do appreciate the fact that you are knowledgeable in both growing zones, and I love watching the fruits of your projects! Thanks again Jack!
Jack I have to say you are truly inspiring!!! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous projects and I can see the passion you have for what you do and it transpires in the works of art you create. 🌷
Oh Jack this is beautiful. Love all the natural things you added. Perfect spots for all the gorgeous plants & shrubs you added. Will you show us an update of this in a month or so? That would be a delight to see. Great job.
It’s gorgeous Jack and crew! Still LOVE that light system Jack, was happy to see the night shot looks just as I expected 🙂! The drone shots were GREAT! Gives a perspective that helps to visualize all your design. Hey Jack, how do you keep those flats of plants from developing fungus knats. I have always had to fight them off before I get them in the ground. Try to plant as quickly as possible once I bring them home. It is still a problem when things are in pots outside. This is in Seacoast NH....
My favorite project thus far. Loved your plant selection. It brought life to the hardscape without stealing its thunder. The Pagoda Dogwood was the ideal tree for this project. I also got excited to see that you used pachysandra as a ground cover. I think it’s such a beautiful plant and so under used due to its invasive reputation. Well done!
Love this project Jack, it looks awesome! I live in Washington and especially appreciate the northern Michigan videos since the scenery is similar, keep up the good work and have a great summer!
Hi Jack, l ve been e following your vidéos recently, Here on You tube. I love gardening, l have à small garden that l take care of personally. I live in nothern Italy. It you were Here, l would call you to design it. You are really veri good. I like what you show and thé finished work. Super ! You live on a beautiful place where there is à lot of Green ! Fantastic and good, you understand de that you do it with passion. Congratulations and good work. Hi Jack. Daniela Naida. Udine- Italy
Was waiting for this update❤️. I think the stone staircase is gorgeous as it blended well with its surrounding rocks/boulders and trees. It looked natural😍
I have been learning so much from your videos. It would be helpful if you tell the light conditions of each property. That way the viewer will know if a particular plant will work in their growing conditions. Also back ground music can get a little loud. Sometimes it’s hard to hear what your saying. Lover’s Leap video is a good example of the audio issue.
I love it that you go to the woods to add natural elements. In the off-season, do you sketch out a plan with planting beds measured and located in relationship to the home? And, how do you estimate how much to purchase for planting?
Master level to be sure, I was surprised you didn't relocate some ladies slippers into the design. Thanks for posting and looking forward to the next one.
@@JackBarnwellDesign I was shocked that I was able to get trillium corms from a plant seller in TN, they are not protected there. Good to know you can get lady slippers too.
Amazing! I've been looking forward to seeing this property once it's planted. I love ferns and moss so it's right up my alley! What a dream to live in this place!
Hey Jack. It's great to see the finished project. Thanks for bringing us along. I don't think you could hide your enthusiasm/passion if you tried. You had great drone footage and it was really cool seeing the paph growing in nature. You in the forest = a kid in a candy store. Can't wait for the next project!
Amazing! We toured Mackinac in August, 2021 and saw that the Grand Hotel needs your design help by the Somewhere In Time location. There is only a dangerous bank and “at your own risk” sign to get up or down. They need an epic stone staircase like this from the Grand Hotel down to the water to the Somewhere In Time location.
The way Jack manhandled the plants cracked me up. When we were helping our parents plant in the spring there was NONE of that! Plants were handled as if they were the most delicate fine china. I cleary remember dropping a 4" annual, still in it's nursery can... the gasp of horror from Mom! You would have thought I dropped a new born baby. PS, the plant was fine.
I love the nature woodland been there forever feel of this project. I will be seeking out the Pagoda Dogwood. I have just the spot of one. Thanks for your inspiration
Absolutely gorgeous design! I especially love the Pagoda Dogwood! I want to plant one in my landscape but I am not quite sure where. How much sun can they take?
Goodness, it turned out so lush and beautiful! a I can only imagine it will get even better over time. I thought in the beginning you had mentioned your brother was going to make a handrail for the lower staircase. Was that on a different project? The one you showed on the island awhile ago was amazing.
Do you plan for deer? Some of the plants are expensive deer food. I have a home in northern Michigan and the deer eat the daylilies, hydrangeas, black eyed Susan‘s and almost anything that flowers. Can you suggest plants that are deer resistant?
How much does something like this cost, with the large rock steps, and boulders and landscape plants, lighting, besides the underground sprinkling? You should be a realtor around the UP because I am sure your landscaping business can make any house sale saleable and high-ended expensive.
I love this place. You made it look so natural. Great job as always.
There’s talent and there’s Jack Barnwell TALENT!
Some people have a lot of money. Can't even imagine what that world is like. Jack your work is beautiful.
Again Jack your talent for harmonizing the most natural elements into the home landscape is what allows you to shine. You sir do it with such ease! Thank you
Thanks!
Definitely want to see more video's from your work and ideas. Love your work

Wow, wow, wow!!! It is absolutely gorgeous! I love the way the plantings will look so natural and that they've always been there. Wonderful job.

Moss on wood wins me everytime.

I think lady slippers might be a protected wildflower…
They are protected, but we can get bulbs wholesale and will be planting some in~~~

Thanks for sharing the process. It looks great! Did they decide against the custom wood banister? I'd been looking forward to that detail ☺
Absolutely gorgeous design! I especially love the Pagoda Dogwood! I want to plant one in my landscape but I am not quite sure where. How much sun can they take?
Que belleza.... me encanta !!!💖
Going to be at the Iroquois starting June 20, no video of this years planting? Looking forward to seeing it and hitting the Carriage House.

We have lady slippers in Colorado!
Absolutely amazing!
Jack love your show, I live not far from Mackinaw where do you shop for your proven winners ?
How much does a project like that cost?
Love... as usual. How much to sketch out an “impossible to look nice” front planting bed? I know you have lots of spare time on your hands. 😉
