- Hi all,
All product links are further down 😊 ⬇️.
Here is a video of me trying the Let's Resin Interference powders for a gemstone effect, I also tried a matte finish by sanding the resin after demolding for an un-polished look. I think these ones turned out incredible! And yes, Interference powder work great! Not as many colors to choose from compared to the nail powders I have recently shown but they are a good option and good amounts for the price!

Matte UV gel top coat works a treat, it gives that finish , it's quick, less work and no need to kill a mould for that purpose x
I so need some! Thank you 😊
@@daniel..cooper Don't spend a fortune, just get a Wish special, sometimes the poor quality produces a better result 😜
@@MsTJPink thank you 😊 🙏
I have tried that in the past and it does work. I used it on a keychain someone wanted customized. It was quite beautiful.
I love the matte uv gel top coat for so many crafts, makes polymer look like suede great effect! Love it on Resin too
I used to make "sea glass" by pouring the resin like normal before sanding it with my hand held drill by using the sanding head. Though these days my focus has shifted to birthstone "druzy" type jewelry, which has been an interesting challenge so far 😅. These turned out absolutely beautiful, as always. If I could make a request, could you experiment with some different ways to make Opal type gems? Maybe using mylar and the nail powders?
Thank you 😊 Sure, opals will be on my list for a while as will try a few variations to get it right 😊
I LOVE IT . . . YOU SAID WE CAN REPLICATE THAT . . . . THAT PART . . . GET'EM TEACH
I like the blue - matte or shiny works. It depends on the customer. Its what sells that counts.
You could lightly sand the mold and have a designated matte mold I have sanded pieces to make them matte I think deshining the mold if you have two would be easier
Good thinking Toni, but the speed I get through molds, mine go dull pretty fast from all the experiments 😂🥰. Also, there's no going back once done 😉
I love a frosted look, Daniel! Always have. I like the blue best, then the green and pink! 💕😊
Absolutely gorgeous but that green & blue color stones are STUNNING !!! And if you combine the two you might get aquamarine (my birthstone) …😂😂😂 Love moonstone too btw. Thanks fue sharing all these beauties. 🩵💚🩵💚🩵
Thanks Jackie, I must try mixing them soon 😊😊😊
@@daniel..cooper That’s gonna be awesome !!!! Can’t wait to reclaim my old She Shed (my late father’s workshop in my backyard 😂). Was being used as storage but I’ll make it work somehow, so I can start my resin experiments 🤪 & other crafts I want to try. The Gods must definitely crazy but I’m willing to give it a go. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@jackiepena1541 yay, that will be awesome! Hope you get it sorted soon 😊😊😊😊
Beautiful 😍 they are very different gilding flakes. They definitely shine much brighter than the normal gilding flakes you find.
I prefer the shiny as it really lets the sparkle through.
It definitely does 😊😊
Steel wool is also great to make a matte finish. Learned that from a Nunn Design tutorial. Makes for a very satisfying tactile feel.
Great tip! Thank you 😊
Actually that IS my cup of tea! :) I think the green is my fave. Nice work Daniel
Thanks Lee 😊 I think it's going to be a close draw between the two 😂
I like to use several different powders in my molds at once. I think they look more realistic that way.
I need to try the sanding and see them close up without the light. But, I think I will love both. I agree with you on the UV resin…it has changed my world getting ready for a craft fair and cranking them out quickly and for a little of nothing. Tank you!
I like the blue but not sure yet if I like the matte finish. Would probably look a little different in person. The idea one person had of making the mold matte makes sense. Thanks for sharing Daniel. You always come up with great ideas 😀
Thank you Carolyn 😊
What a great idea Daniel and that green just blew my mind. So my cup of coffee ( I don’t like tea ) 😂❤
Thank you 😊 Coffee it is 😊🥰
You make a great point about the jewelry vs larger pieces. I make a lot of wire-wrapped jewelry, and have just started with the resin cabachons. People are loving them! I sell to a lot of metaphysical people, the rainbow foils and the swirls go over very well indeed. These matte "gems" are lovely ❤
Thank you 😊 Yes, resin jewelry is so popular, each piece can be very unique and personalised 😊
So amazing and beautiful. I think the blue is stunning.
Don’t know wich one is my favourite because I like them all 😁 thanks Daniel for sharing another great idea 🥰
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks so much 😊
This is definitely a interesting video. I am not sure whether i prefer the matte or shiny finish. Good point on the pyramid and larger molds using so much resin and powders. I love making, or I should say trying to make, the different pieces you show in your videos. 😂 Thank you again for inspiring us to try new things.❤❤❤
How could I miss this beaut. Just tuning in. I cannot wait to see what you do TEACH!!
Thanks Sharan 😊
I enjoy both matte and polished looking. I think the matte looks more "real", but the polished stones look so real when you take the time to do things like form the little bubbles and use different powders to make them look like pearl, moonstone, jade, whatever.
Thanks Naudia 😊
Amazing! Excited to try this soon. I love the shine Finnish. The blue hue is gorgeous
I really like this technique. It is elegant. It reminds me a little bit of a LunaSoft cabochon that you see in beading magazines. That effect does not even try for a natural stone appearance, rather it has an “otherworldly” feel to it. The luminance is amazing. Your technique has some of the same essence while introducing the tiny little inclusions you might see in a natural gemstone. Very nice look and I love that you show how you would use these pieces. Great ideas!
Thanks 😊
Cool, I think they look natural .
Thank you so kindly Daniel. I like them all. I like the matt effect it would depend on what im wearing, and probably what time of year it is to wear the matt effect. Take great care and keep creating and smiling ❤
Thanks as always Dale 😊
Reminds me of sea glass too
Inspirational as usual
Thank you 😊 Yes, that has given me a few ideas 😊🥰
Wow, very interesting experiment. Love how these look! I love the violet!
Thanks Linda, yes, the violet is a good strong color 😊😊
Love it. You could lightly sand them to look matte
I did 😊
Love the matt effect. Moonstone is my absolute favourite, and so the blue is perfect! ❤
Very cool techniques. ❤ that blue and I’m not a blue person. The pink is pretty as is the purple. I like both matte and shiney.
Thanks as always 😊
I love seaglass and I love these, what a great idea. You are so inventive. Thank you 😺
Thank you! 😊
Oh it's really ...different ! But I like them ! My fav is the blue 😊
Thanks as always Dorianne 😊
I ❤ the matte finish!
Those are pretty cool! I like the matte effect. It looks frosted, and I like that. Blue and purple are my favorite colors, so those are my favorites.
Thanks LisaJean 😊
Those are soo cool! Antique looking. 💥💥💥
Thanks so much Deb 😊
I love all of them sanded. The blue and green are my fav. May have to try this on a larger scale.
That blue is gorgeous!!!!
Thanks Laura 😊 It's a stunning color isn't it 😊
Love the matte and the shiny both!!!! Great job!!! I've been using mainly UV lately....mainly cause I don't wanna spend money on epoxy lol....but i agree...so much u can do with the cabachon mold....I use it all the time!!!
Thanks so much!! Yes, uv is so good 😊😊
It looked like it had a light in it. Looks great. Thanks.
Green matte is my choice. Though they are all very pretty. 😊
Love the green matte. ❤
Thanks Pamela 😊
Another awesome video. I love the look thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!! 😊
These are gorgeous love the blue
Thanks Jayne 😊
I like the color of the matt. But of course i love shine
Matte top coat would work too. It will have a sea glass look.
Great tip! Thank you 😊
. . . . Grubby. Cute 😀😀😀
Absolutely beautiful, love your work. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks Daniel, very interesting experiment. I like it ❤
Thanks Maddie 😊
I love the moon stone blue, it’s stunning. Thanks for sharing. I am off to find that mould, I want to have a go 😊
Thank you 😊
I like both finishes and my favorite colors are the blue and green. 😍
Have you tried mixing the interference powders? 🤔 If you mix the blue and the green you might be able to get lovely shades of blue-green depending on the ratio of each color. Like, for example, take three different little empty containers and mix equal amounts of each color in one, do a second with two parts blue and one part green and the third with two parts green and one part blue. Use a tiny measuring scoop to get precise amounts so you can replicate colors if wanted/needed and make sure to mix well so the color is even. If you have/get more empty containers you can play with mixing the other colors too. Might be fun to mix one part gold, three parts blue and one part green or something like that. Even more fun to mix 2 parts purple and one part blue to maybe get a more royal purple shade or different amounts of pink and blue with or without the purple to get different shades of purple completely. Don't know if it will work since you might just get sparks of each color instead of one solid color but in theory it should given the way the eye sees colors and either way the effect could be cool. Experiments are fun! 😁👍
I haven't tried yet but yes, definitely needs to be done 😊😊😊
@@daniel..cooper Yay! Sounds like fun. I look forward to seeing the results. 😁👍
I prefer it shiny
Blue❤
I think I'd need to do the experiment myself, as it probably looks different in person, but thanks for the demo. I agree that the smaller items would have a larger profit margin.
For a large item, I might like to try a Galaxy or Aurora Borealis paperweight since they look so cool. Otherwise, there are so many smaller items that would bring a better profit. Thanks for your tutorials Daniel!
It really does look so much better in person 😊. I'm not saying I won't make big things as I'm the same, would love to make things thike that too! I will still see thousand of small pieces though 😂
These are gorgeous!
Really like the matt finish. Very different 🤩
Thanks Carol 😊 I definitely had a sea glass vibe from some of them too, has given me a few more ideas 😊
@@daniel..cooper can't wait to see them 🙂
Very nice Daniel 👌 😊
Thanks Tracey 😊
Really pretty Dan! ❤🎉
Thanks Mary 😊
Love them all 👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
I love shiny things ….but this is stunning!!! I love anything to do with the northern lights effect….. thank you for sharing with us once again!!!
Thank you so much! 😊 Glad you like them 😊
Nice work again Daniel. Because I’m a tight arse,😂I started using interference colours instead of buying the nail powders. They work really well.
Yay, if it works, why not use them 😊😊
@@daniel..cooper absolutely.😎
You can get some uv nail varnish that is Matt that you could put on after. Just a thought.
Thanks Anna, yes, this has been mentioned, will definitely get some 😊😊
Really love the matte❤❤
Yay 😊 So glad I'm not the only one 😂
I tried to replicate some of the things you did (opal effect) using the interference powders. I really liked my results.
Yay, congratulations 😊😊😊😊
So simple yet so sophisticated. Love them
Thanks so much 😊
I love the look!!
Thank you as always 😊😊😊
Imitations aren’t my cup of tea but these are really pretty
Thank you so much 😊
Like them both.. but if push came to shove, I'd go with the gloss.
Thank you 😊 I'm tipped more to the matte at the moment 😂
Love these!!
Thanks as always Rhoda 😊
@@daniel..cooper you are welcome I enjoy your videos!!
try playing with wet n dry papers, 800 to 1200 grit wet paper will give you and beautiful matty finish ,, love them daniel
Thank you so much, a couple of viewers have mentioned a mat UV gel, I may try that 1st 😊😊😊
i wonder if there is a matting agent you can use in resin,,,,as there are many in automotive two pack paints
@@adssmedo7376 possibly, I'm sure we can find something to work 😊
Mattify by artistry epoxy is phenomenal for things like this it’s made for resin so will not harm your project also cuts down on sanding
Awesome, thank you 😊 Is it an additive you mix in?
@@daniel..cooper no it’s like a polishing compound. You add a bit of the stuff then rub for a few mins with steel wool then wash off. It removes the shine better then most things I’ve used with way less time and elbow grease
L like the matte finish. I think the colors come through better.
Yay, thank you 😊
Love it, you did make me lol when you said 'if you happen to search on etsy' 😂😂
How different do they look in gloss and matt? I hoped you were going to show the difference lol xx
I truly love these...that pink looks peachy and its beautiful...i love the green and blue...i guess I love them all 😂..love the matt or shiny. If you don't have a matt mold you can order a matt nail polish topcoat...im assuming that would work..
I think I'll have a go, I'm sure I've got interference powder somewhere 😊 I may do one normal shiny and one matte. Thanks for something different, snd i havrnt got to buy anythibg. My card thanks you 👍
Very welcome Pat 😊 Have fun creating 😊 Thank you 😊
Bar keepers friend works great to Mattify
I'm mad at you for "stealing" my idea! Lol. I knew it was just a matter of time others would get the same idea with these powders.
Stealing your idea? Where from? 😂
They sell a product called Mattify.. comes with a green scrubbie & an abrasive gel. Also I wonder if we could spray the shiny molds with a matte clear spray paint a little bit before adding the resin 🤔
Thanks for sharing 🌹💯💯
Thank you, another mentioned this. I think a spray would work great, I will test and see what works 😊
I don't know if this is helpful or not, but if you look through nail art uv gel polishes there is a gel polish that creates a mat surface. It's called a Mat Top Coat.
I love your videos, I've learned a lot playing around. Made some really cool stuff. My daughter keeps stealing from my stash of pendants. Your work is beautiful! My mother and aunts used to pick up all kinds of moon stones from the beach in LA a long time ago.. Now they cost a fortune?
Thank you 😊 I'm not sure if the stones cost a fortune buy the listing I saw was expensive 😂
Interference powders are fun so are duochromes and multichromes Lets resin has some of those to. I've watched a few of your videos and the ones i've seen you are using black mica to make the black backing just so you know charcoal powder is dead cheap and you can put that in your medicine cabinet to.
Thank you 😊 Yes, I keep meaning to try the charcoal out, thanks for the reminder 😊 😀
Beautiful work ! Where did you get the issue for the bottonhole please ? Thanks.
I'm not really keen on the matte effect, but I think that's just me. Maybe I do have a little bit of the magpie in me after all lol I prefer the shiny, for this.
I'm not usually keen but these definitely grew on me 😊
Sadly, the prices on Etsy are higher than others because Etsy takes a huge cut from the sell. I sold something for 30 dollars (US), and got to keep 20 after all their fees! And that was after the buyer paid for the shipping....
So true, exactly the reason why I quit my Etsy!
I didn’t like the matte but I think it’s growing on me 😂
It definitely grows, I wasn't keen at first but the more I looked at the test piece in different lights, I knew I had to film 😊
Hi Daniel, have you ever tried these resin creations and added a jewellery connection ring or made a hole before curing it?
Hi Brenda, I haven't yet, sorry
Thank you for getting back to me. 😊
I'm curious if you've seen any videos from a channel called: Louise Singleton Creations. She does some really cool stuff with UV resin in water and iron powder and magnets. If you have heard of her, you should check her out. Even if it's not your thing, it's pretty cool.
Cool, no, I will check her out, thank you 😊😊
What if you brush some clear matte nail gel polish or matte nail top coat? Would that work?
How do you do it 3rd dimension next just WOW again 😮 dunno what else to say cept they're, as usual, way beyond my imagination.
WOW 😮😮😮
Thanks as always Morag 😊
Your welcome only the truth mate
Is interference powder different from ordinary mica powder
Can you mix the interference powders and/or make them a little patchy to create even more natural colour variations?
Sure can 😊
Undecided as to liking the matte. Gel matte top coat would work and less work too
Thank you Lyn 😊 Yes, will try a matte top coat soon, sounds so much easier 😊
What type of glue would you use to affix to the setting?
E6000 😊😊
I like both, but lean more towards the shiny TEACH
Looking for some advice. I’ve been researching I’ve resin and I’ve read that it turns yellow
All resin will eventually. Best to follow the key aftercare of keeping out direct sunlight.
Hi , if is posible i need your help 🙏🙏🙏🙏. When i tried ti use a dark colors with my uv resin its impossible to dry or its a dessaster , how dry your pieces ? Thanks a lot and im sorry for my poor english 😢
The uv light is struggling to cure through the dark colors. Colors in uv resin need to be translucent.
Yhanks a lot
I don't understand the "interference" part... is it the same as chameleon powders?
Kind of, I think chameleon powders are more solid.
@@daniel..cooper ahhhh, thanks!
Hi Daniel, Hey, Can a UV lamp have TOO much wattage?
Kind of, it can cure the resin too fast which will cause very uneven surfaces and can get too hot. A way around this would be to place the lamp further away.
@@daniel..cooper TYVM!!!
Sorry, But do you have a wattage recommendation?
@@SandyBaubleLove 36W 😊😊😊

🥰🥰🥰
Sort of looks like a moonstone but real moonstones are so inexpensive it wouldn’t be worth making fakes.
True but this is art 😊
I prefer the shiny. Sorry.😔
Don't apologise 😊😊😊 I want honest opinions 😊😊
