Is it? Under-appreciated I mean. I always thought it was a very popular game, at least when it came out. It's not as vividly remembered as other titles from the fifth generation, I guess.
Yup. IMO the best Zelda game almost nobody has played. The puzzles can be devilishly difficult in a casual run. Tons of hidden secrets in the game, as well.
Absolutely fantastic run! Also I can't believe I actually beat this game as a kid. I have fond memories of it, but didn't recall it being this hard. Props to the runner.
Alundra, wonderful game, have fond memories about it....like dying over and over again in the sand dungeon or end up crying because i couldnt do the puzzles in the werewolf dream XD Extremly good run! and... happy birthday soloman ;D
"Small sequence break," when you were, "supposed," to go to the mine? I didn't even realize that you were supposed to go there. Every time I've played through the game I went straight to the Mayor's house. ... oops.
It's very similar to top-down view Zelda games. Except with harder puzzles, and a serious and emotionally gripping story. I highly recommend playing it if you're into these types of games. I personally think this game is better than any 2D Zelda game.
If you're interested, it's only $10 on PS3, well worth it. Also look into Landstalker on the Genesis, it's made by the same team behind this and pretty similar, except isometric and full of stupidly hard jumps.
What's so funny about Alundra is, despite being a Japanese version, it's harder than the Western version. Normally, Japanese or Korean games are much harder, even in most JP/KR MMORPG the exp rates are increased for Westerners..... :-P Fun fact. melzas is an extraterrestrial being, that pretends to be a god.
Run Start: 6:10
I was glued to the entire thing. Fantastic run, lads. Alundra is such a great. under-appreciated game.
Just got done watching your golden sun video. Good stuff brother

This run is sooooo good waouw !! epicness
Alundra is one of my favorite PS1 games.
The art in this game is really great! I have this game on my PSP as a PSOne Classic and it is brutally difficult!

i loved playing this game. i got stuck when time stopped in the final dungeon and never beat it.
This game brings back good memories for me. HARD AS HECK though when playing casually.
I still love the fact that the strongest weapon in the game can only be attained by sucking. XD
Hope im not to late to wish soloman happy birthday!!

@1:54:39

I don't think Landstalker is quite as puzzle focused though and has a bigger focus on platforming. But it does have quite a few similarities.
Remembered this game from my youth. Boy, was I crazy! Great speed run, even if it's hardly speedy(5:30 is typical for an old-school RPG).
I beat this game when I was a child without a guide. I don't know how........ Persistence I guess lol
i was a kid when i started playing this game and i was stuck on the dungeon in 2:33

eat your heart out dark souls
I would have enjoyed this game more if I'd played the Japanese version. The NPCs are far too chatty on English.
