A little tip for all here: it won't hurt to leave some apples out in the garden, a lot of birds eat apples! I don't have an apple tree but whenever a store bought apple goes wrinkly/bad I put it on my balcony and the birds LOVE it! Completely gone, except for the seeds, within a few days. Same for a lot of other fruits btw. And if they don't you can always compost it anyways.
In the contryside they won't be too crazy about them since there is plenty of food around usually, but in the city they might really benefit! Also around here lots of animals eat directly from the compost heap.

Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda) is great to clean and disinfect the bathroom, from the toilet to the bath tub and wash basin. However, for the floor, use a little bit of vinegar mixed with hot water. Baking soda is also great for blood stains in underwear and clothes, as long as they are white or towels and bed sheets. It has a mild bleaching quality so be careful with expensive clothes. You can use it with both hot and cold water water as long as you soak the clothes, bed sheets, etc. overnight. It's great to remove menstrual blood stains, reusable baby napkins and ankerchiefs. Baking soda has a thousand purposes, keep it at home and it is incredibly cheap. Vinegar is another great cheap natural disinfectant. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Cheeky Panda is a bamboo toilet paper that is more sustainable because bamboo grows a lot faster than trees, plus it means you save thousands of trees being cut down. x
For anyone who doesn’t want to buy a sprouter, I use my existing 3 tier bamboo steamer. In terms of whether to buy at the store or have it shipped: it's all about the extra packaging. Hi Immy. The quality of your videos are amazing. I watch the old and the new and you can really tell how far you have come. Well done! On the multi-purpose cleaner concentrate I thought I'd share that even more zero waste and cheaper version would be to make your own, which is super simple (taken from Clean My Space UA-cam channel): 2cups water + 1teaspoon of liquid soap + 10 drops of essential oils (shake in the spay bottle). The cool thing about these things is that ingredients needed can be used for multiple purposes around the house!

I'd love to hear your opinion on using soap nuts as a detergent, if you or anyone you know has tried it. They sell them at my local zero waste shop, and obviously they don't contain the harmful chemicals that conventional laundry detergents do, but are they sustainable in terms of production, sourcing, etc?
The soap nuts (they're actually berries) only work with hot water so you need to run your washing machine on the hot cycle.. unless you boil them before in some water and use that water as your detergent. They also don't really remove stains so you need to treat the stain separately prior doing your laundry. I stopped using them because of the hot water dilemma (couldn't be bothered boiling them beforehand and I only use the hot cycle on rare occasions) and also because they didn't left my clothes really clean. Also, most of the nut soaps you can buy come from India, Nepal, etc so that's shipping from quite far if you're in the US or Europe. I also read somewhere (sorry can't find it now) that most local workers weren't paid fairly and as the demand for soap nuts increases those become more expensive for locals who can't afford them anymore (same issue with most quinoa from Peru for example). All in all I reckon there might be more sustainable options in your area. You can check online for recipes of soap made with horse-chestnuts, as they too contain saponins, or other nuts/berries that might be local to you. Hope that helps and maybe someone who knows more than me or has tricks to make them work can give you more info & advice :)
@@rougeapoisblancs Thank you! I reckoned there would probably be some issues concerning transport and working conditions. I will definitely be trying out your tip with using horse-chestnuts instead (there are loads in my area)
I used them for four months and was not impressed. My bed linens especially became more and more dirty over time and the first time that I washed them with real washing powder after the four months I could see a big difference. And I followed all instructions with hot water etc. From what I can read (but it’s annoying how hard it is to find proper data) they don’t work better than simply using plain water. But I think a washing machine cleans a good deal on it own by simple mechanics and that’s why some people feel they work for a time - before the grime starts to build up.
The Pepsi logo is finally gone! Another amazing video. Autumn really is the best season. ☺️ I always love your content but these days I feel like your videos really are next level. Great work! ☺️
I keep mine in a box/container from ethique! Basically it’s a little covered tray you can keep in your shower that has holes in the bottom for water to drain out. They’re the only company I’ve seen selling something like that, but I’m sure there’d be a way to diy something similar if you’re feeling crafty!
I keep mine in a container too! It's just a glass jar I reused. The main thing for me is to make sure to not let water get into the jar during my shower, and then to take the lid off when I leave the shower, so the soap/shampoo will have a chance to dry! And if it does turn into goo and you can't dry it out, you can mix it with a bit more water in a container and use it like you would a liquid soap, though I avoid doing that because I tend to use too much of it when it's a liquid.
I find that shampoo bars last much, much longer if they are dried out in between uses. I take mine out of the shower when I get out of the shower. This extends their life a lot. Hope this is helpful Ⓜ️ary🍁

But I think a washing machine cleans a good deal on it own by simple mechanics and that’s why some people feel they work for a time - before the grime starts to build up.
wow, thats one of my life goals to become zero waste! those were some great tips to start :)
love your videos i wish i could afford the books you read but i'm on a very tight budget so will enjoy your videos insteadxx

As a tall girl, Im so curious, how tall are you Immy? You dress wonderfully for your lovely figure :)
Loved this video :))
i love my current shampoo bar but how do you keep it from turning into a puddle of goo
