@@killthemall55 not sure if it's me you're asking but most common I see is dodge rams, I've seen a few challemgers but no hellcats. Most Mustangs are newer rhd models but there are some imports, and you get the occasional classic stuff. I also know of a bloke who lives near my grandma who has a c6 corvette.

I feel like grouping all inline 4s together doesn't do some of them justice. The FC20 in the S2000 is an inline four but revs to 9k and sounds incredible
I ain't making a 4 hour long video. I jokingly thought putting Inline 4 motorcycles at SSS tier to spite car guys, so honestly what ended up in the video is better😅

That's why most rotaries are super simple engines, so you don't have to spend so much time unbolting unnecessary crap to get the apex seals out.
Ye they do look quite simple, which is a good thing as it limits part breakage.
When owning an rx7 you have to learn to fix it yourself.
As a 5cylinder enthusiast, it is definitely in SS-Tier. If Beethoven would have had a car, it would have this engine. 🥺

Another great 3 cylinder sound is Yamaha’s 2 stroke 600cc triple in their 1998-2006 Venture snowmobile. Revs to 8500 RPM and screams like it’s the king of whatever trail it’s on. I own one and it’s a blast to drive just for the sound alone.

Only thing that I believe should have been added was the F1 engines, V12s, V10s, V8s (with blown diffuser), and even V6 turbo hybrids.... all a joy to hear, especially at 13k+ revs

You forgot non-turbo V6 engines. Yeah, you mentioned V6 turbos and VQs, but loads of cars come with an NA V6 under the hood: everything from Camrys to Mustangs, Genesis Coupes, and quite a lot of sports sedans from ~2010. Lotus likes to supercharge them.
They all sound like VQs don't try to act like a V6 Camry sounds better than a 350z
Toyota V6 sounds immensely better than a VQ, especially when you throw a supercharger on it and throw it in a Lotus.
Only think that competes with how bad the VQ sounds is the Buick 3.8 from the Grand National. I love mine but holy crap it it hilariously bad.
Alfa Romeo V6s are something else, I own rotaries now but when I had a 3.0 V6 Alfa it made me realize how good and underrepresented sporty NA V6s are in the states.
Lotus takes the Toyota V6 from angry bees to angry bees with whine.

I think vqs get a bad rep because in the US they are more common, here in the UK I don't see them daily, and they don't seem to get the same level of hate. Also there's a video on here of a cammed vq which sounds really nice. As for i5s I think you need to spend some time with volvos as they have the best sounding i5s.
They can sound decent but you really have to know what youre doing tbh. A straight piped or any sort of poor exhaust mod ruins the sound.

In my opinion, I’ll put the boxer 6 and flat plane v8 in SS tier purely because I had heard both on track at the Sepang circuit recently. The scream of Ferrari 458 gt3 v8 and the upshift from the Porsche 911 992 cup car sends down my spine every time they speed down the straight
In my opinion, the tenere 7’s parallel twin I think is reallly cool sounding, with an aftermarket exhaust/header, like it sounds very aggressive and is like a perfect scrambler. One of my favorite bike engines.
I agree a typical 4 cylinder engine may be in C-tier, but there are those twin-cam 4 cylinders which are a cool raspy bunch which I think could be in B-tier.
The Carrera GT and LFA V10s hit different.
Yah, I’d of deffo ranked the LFA V10 an SS tier! It’s the closest sounding car to an F1 car ever made, and it’s sounds fantastic!
Bladed, I was wondering, if the Inline 4 includes motorcycle inline 4s for you.. because to me, for example a Yamaha’s crossplane I4 sounds pretty rad

As a former Honda fanboy and current VQ owner, i can assure you a VQ with a PROPER exhaust sound 10x better than any Honda i4 lol. Of course if you have a straight piped vq it’ll sound like garbage but there’s plenty of good sounding ones. Especially boosted VQ’s 🔥 deserves to be in C tier at least in front of Honda
I have a 4.0 vq and trust me with just resonators it sounds amazing 👏. Most people forget the vq came in more than just z's

i think a missed sound but not to surprising because of the rarity is the inline 4 cross plane. Yamaha R1s are the only bike that dose it but that sound is just a dream sound when it idols sounds like a mini v8 but when giving it full gas just sounds like we found a way to rev a mustang or Chevy to 16k PRM. its one of the few sport bike engines that sacrifices top speed for torque and cornering control.
I wish you made a distinction between the American pushrod V10s and the import V10s since they are as different as a crossplane V8 and a flatplane V8. Also not all I4s are created equal, and the GM Ecotec I4s have a sort of howl to them that Honda and Toyota I4s don't have, while the SR20 will always sound like a tractor. As far is I5s are concerned, I'm just gonna consider it right next to V10s because they have basically the same sound. But I do agree that rotaries are SS-tier. *Takes off redditor hat*

a couple of things really caught my ear really good. ep3 type r at full chat with no plates in Birmingham and supercharged jaguar v8's. both the xjr and f type. those things out of factory sound amazing!

personally like some of the higher revving I4 like the s2k motor and quite a fan of the 4g63. SOME NA V6 engines sound good like a lot of the hondas but i would put them both in A tier. didnt know about the flat 6 motorcycles. now you have me kinda wanting a bike

Loved the video. Just wish you touched more on na v6 bc there is more than just vq. For example, Toyota/Lexus 2gr and Honda/Acura j-series. I’m assuming they would be in c-tier with the inline 4 bc they are mostly used in more expensive versions of the same cars.

I fixed up my dads 93 Wrangler YJ Sport with the 4.0L i6 and a 6 speed manual, my god it was heavenly. Especially when I strait piped it (cat mesh was sideways and had to get rid of it)

About the 3 cylinder cars, some of my friends who own sports cars told me that my 2020 Opel Corsa F sounds like a race car on the limit. The 1.2T engine in the new corsa needs a better exhaust system but still sounds nice to me in stock form.
One inline 6 that i'd like to mention was the S20 straight six made for the c10 gtr and it revs higher than the RB making a sound so mental that you forget a v12 when you listen to it

My brother used to have a Mazda RX-8 with the rotary engine, but it had some issues, and no mechanic around here would touch it, so he ended up selling it.
I don't think I would ever hear a better exhaust note than an RB26 single turbo with the correct 2F2F sound.
It's like a high pitch and a low pitch duet, no other engine does that so perfectly.
That point about V12 is so sad. Kinda glad I live in a “developing country” where there’s only one Lamborghini Huracan, 992 911 GT3, Grand Cherokee SRT and a 458 Spider that recently touch down. Rarely see these types of cars so I appreciate them when I see them.
