Two years after and the Warlock legacy is still my favorite legacy video. All of the legacy’s are great but the production quality and writing for this is the best, regardless of what Ben thinks!
As someone that mained a Warlock from Vanilla until Pandas, and that hasnt touched WoW since Warlords release....you're stroking my nostalgia quite hard.
+- “Negrido” - Same, though I went through WoD for strange reasons like goldfarming and some WPvP on the side. Oh, and getting the level 795 legendary ring. That's going to be it for me, just about.
One of my funniest memories of TBC is getting kicked from numerous groups because I was "ninjaing all the Soul Shards", or "looting Soul Shards mid-fight on trash" instead of DPSing. Oh the ignorance of other players.
+Stephan Conzen I hear ya man, I mained a priest in vanilla and one of key raiders was this chick who was a lock and a few of us would have go out before a raid to load her bags with shards it was bs. I didn't mind helping her just the mechanic. We had another lock get kicked because he didnt dps, he just drained soul all the time saying 'its doing damage' lol
+Stephan Conzen I once got harassed by my raid because i was "getting damaged all the time", obviously i was standing in the fire, it had nothing to do with Life Tap... Then when I finally explained how Life Tap worked, my raid didnt want me to use it because I was "draining the healer's mana to replenish my own".
7 years later and I still love this video. Man I miss Ghosty. I know there was drama and all but I really hope Mike and Andy still talk in the background. And honestly I'd love to see a Ghost cameo with the new production quality Chris and the rest of the team have brought to the channel. It's been years, time to let bygones be bygones I say!
It was more of a tickle incinerate with a bitchslap chaosbolt, when people realised they rerolled demo or got kicked from raids. as a main warlock in wod i Went from steady 30k dps to steady 80k dps just by changing spec. Destro sucked ass in wod
I kinda like the idea of Vanilla Warlocks. Think about it, distrusted masters of a diying profession; frowned upon Mages and Priests, who studied "proper" magic; striking fear into the hearts of even the bravest heroes, but the Warriors, who just plain hate them; practicing dark arts that noone understands; summoning demons, who btw, did try to destroy Azeroth just a while ago, sometimes resulting in mysterious and tragic "accidents"; laying curses upon the supersticious folk; only called upon when you need them, either to fight fire with fire, or just for the utility, but noone is thrilled by their company. Would you want one of them to hang out in your party?
fits with why I chose lock as my main for the past many years. I came from Everquest and loved the necromancer who of course was an evil class and hated and the warlock was as close as I could get to a necro in WoW. This is how I viewed the class and at least from the lore perspective they made it seem that way.
Fecal gets it! The Everquest classic Shaman/Necro/Enchanter are some of the best designed spell casters in any MMO I've ever played. Look at how many spell similarities the WoW warlock has had compared to the Everquest Necro. The WoW devs were all world first raid leaders in EQ as well, so of course they took a ton of inspiration.
Hey @Preach, glad to see I made your video not once but twice! Once when you were talking about my guide and arguing about how best to level a warlock @3:41. And my spectacular HM Mimiron Firefighter tanking @34:53. Keep it up mate!
I played a lot of PvP in TBC and I want to add something to the dominance of SL/SL Lock. TBC introduced resilience as a stat for the first time, and it's purpose was to prevent people from getting one-shot in pvp, like what happened often in vanilla (especially for the clothies). How did resilience do that? Well, reduce damage taken from crits. Awesome. Except dots didn't crit. So everyone else was dealing reduced damage in pvp, except locks were blasting on full dps. This wasn't fixed until 2.3 if my memory serves me right.
+MannnisEi haha i remember a m8 playing a rogue complayning about me ( lock ) having more armor then him and having more HP then our MT . aaa the fun times were shit was (even more ) out of order :P
+JoneZ2610 yhe sl-sl was discussing for sure sometimes taking ages to kill I didn't pop a whole lot in that time more into pve. But yhe I know what you mean
+MannnisEi SL/SL also let us solo dungeons so easily. Another lock friend and I were duoing most TBC dungeons. It was ridiculous. Not heroic, of course.
No i never played Vanilla but i loved the greenfire quest (MoP) on my warlock, very hard to get but very cool and rewarding. And now when i see destro walrock with red fire i feel powerful =D.
It’s been years since I first saw this. Still one of my favorite series on YT. Warlock main since 2005 baby! Almost shed a tear while watching this amazing retrospective again. Good times.
Damn +Preach Gaming, I wish every other youtuber had the decency like you to provide atleast the names of the awesome soundtracks they use in their videos. Thanks and fantastic video. +1.
+fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you! i created a script to like the video without even opening youtube.
+fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck you! I pressed the like button before he posted the video.
Not going to lie. I've watched this at least three times now due to how much love I have for preach, ghost and the warlock. great work guys you did this Legacy to perfection.
So happy I was around to experience some of these legendary warlock moments. Getting my Dreadsteed and earning my pets just felt so awesome. Awesome video Preach and Ghost. The effort into this production was worth it :)
+supajasiu I want mages, probably the class that had the most spec switches out of all the others. This patch, fire is best, next one arcane is best, fire is back, now it's frost. I remember if you we're a frost mage in ICC you we're probably booted. Water elemental went from being a a pet for 3 mins to a permanent one, fingers of frost allowed spells based on freezing to actually work, and then frozon orb: the beautiful frozon orb! Also Deep Freeze had huge changes, i miss the massive damage bonus of stun immune targets. Arcane has been through a lot, given that for a long time they were a single spell class that had another button for releasing stacks. Fire, which went from dealing loads of crits to dots and crits.
i listened to this last night while playing wow and came back and actually watched the whole thing today, really good stuff man, love the warlock in wow, hearthstone and in heroes of the storm with guldan. literally the best class in any game!
I love this video but man I'm gonna need more detail on the music because I really want to know where that song from the 33:00 wrath of the Lich King intro bit came from. It's such a good song and I know I've heard it before but I can't find it in any of the OSTs you mentioned.
I main destro, and during MoP I felt like a god. Miss the times, ember tap at its prime, kil'jadens cunning; running around corners unleashing chaos bolts and incinerates. Never feared 2v1s and was up to the challenge for 3v1s without the thoughts of impossibility. Good times for destro, good times indeed
We were gods in Mists. Destro had the hp of a tank, the mobility of a hunter, the DPS of a mage, the self-healing of a blood DK, and by far the best aoe in the game.
had fun with destro in pvp after fighting the idea of it but for some reason affliction is always what I want a lock to be. Then again I play as unholy in a DK so there is that
in vanilla, pvp was mostly fun for horde players, as with alliance warlocks you had to face undead rogues, where will of the forsaken was a 5(!) seconds immunity to every cc the warlock had. And there were MANY undeads
As a human warlock, rogues of any kind weren't too big of a problem besides their stunlock. Quickly tab targetting onto them and putting some dots up before rogues leave their stealth always meant that rogues would have a bad time. This was amplified by Fel Hunter's increased stealth detection and the Human racial. As an alliance warlock, i'd hardly use the succubus anyway since over half of my enemies were immune to seduce, she runs out of mana too quickly and it'd be much more handy to be able to dispel myself/purge enemies and spell lock for up to 8 seconds. In my experience the biggest problem for alliance warlocks in pvp are undead mages with their immunity to the warlock's only CC, spell lock that scales with your own spellhit, mobility, durability and nuke spells.
Preacha!!! Been a fan for quite some time now, must say that I love your content! This video gave me such joy, even though I have never been able to get into the warlock class. Keep up the good work sir!
I found it soul crushing that Blizzard got rid of the Dreadsteed questline. I woulf reroll another lock just to do this quest again. Also, I disagree, the mighty Dreadsteed of Xoroth is still one of the best looking mounts in the game.
Nice vid Preach! Damn you got me so nostalgic now... I have not played wow in such a long time now. Between you and guys like Cobrak I'm starting to feel the urge to start playing again and start making people hurt in battlegrounds again. Awesome vid bud. Keep it up!
I went through the songs you posted and I still couldn't find it, What is the song that starts at 40:48? Right at the beginning of the MoP segment? Thanks!
Awesome video Preach! was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. have played warlock for a decade i had forgotten some of the early vanilla and tbc stuff. And boy do i miss those demon quests, so much good class flavor, lost... and Doomguard summoning was the best, hillarity for hours when you summoned one after a wipe and "lost" control of it... precious memories :)
While watching this I was paying a bit attension to the name "Alkaline" a druid 20:05 and to my utter suprise its my old raidguild on Chromaggus at my vanilla raiding time, we got cthun first and stuff. Such good old memories... But the odds that you got fotage of us, hah... oh, right...you want some old fotage from vanilla times I frapsed some on cd's thats laying around somewhere. Got a whole aq40 run with the guild "definision" from a druids perspective.!
Ahh man that was such a good video! :) Thank you, I love how well researched and versed it was, makes me feel much better about maining a warlock in WoD xD
thank you so much for this vid man, i'm re-subing , i miss being an op monster warlock. and what better time to come back when legion is around the corner, fighting demon hordes with demon hordes of our own.
To date one of the biggest slaps in the face I had as a warlock main was doing so much work to get that dreadsteed and then everyone getting it practically for free in the next update.
No. 3rd warlock used CoR to reduce enemy armour for rogues and dps warriors :D 4th might have used CoW, but the debuff slot might have been used for another one.
I was a gladiator warlock during BC, played one since vanilla...came back to the class time and time again until this day. This video hits hard, makes me sad :( All those good times and memories during each expansion and the sad state they are now =\ from the glory of what hooked me in from the start.
I've been a Warlock since vanilla and even though I experienced pretty much everything in this first hand, it was so wonderful to see this and bring back that nostalgia.....smiled and laughed through the whole thing...THANK YOU!
Jordan Shank Id much rather have a great player on a class that's not "simcrafted good" rather than some dickwad flavor of the month reroll that is ass at a "good simmed" class.
Their DPS compared to other classes in logs was just flat out lower for the same iLvl (not that Ilvl is a good measuring stick but you get what I mean). All 3 specs were in the lower half of DPS rankings for high end raids (Mythic). They still are not fantastic but they have 2 specs round midway with Demo being reasonably competitive now.
Finaly Sargeras listened to my prayers and we have Warlock Legacy video!! and what a video it was.. When I tried first wow in wotlk I played a mage, was bored and left.. then I got back in WoD.. with mage again, since I know I want to be a caster.. get bored again..then a friend reccommended me a warlock, and my life was never the same after.. Thank you preach for this video as it trully is a masterpiece that glorifies the Warlocks and puts them in their right spot.. on the top!
Don't play WoW anymore (still follow you because you're a boss), but when I did it was always the Lock I went back to, ever since Vanilla. So excited to see you finally looking at them and talking about the good and bad. Keep up the great work, man.
+jjilatt123 Also the Dreadsteed quest was badass as hell and not a day goes by that I lament that they removed it so newer players can't experience it. So glad you brought up how amazing that quest line was. Seriously, who thought going from making a giant summoning circle with weird demonic artifacts to JUST LEARNING IT was a good idea? The nerf to the mats needed in TBC was enough in my opinion.
honestly that intro was so fucking insane that i still cant comprehend it ... the rest almost felt like a let down since i got that sick lord of the rings intro vibe from it ! solid 8/8 video m8
Great vid, you missed few things though: - In Nac, you had to make and hand out healthstones one at a time because you could only hold one and nothing in Nax gave shards - On Patchwerk and other high damage fights there was no spare healing during progression. - Sacrifice Locks could get ANOTHER 10% damage in TBC if a healer rez'd the succubus they sacrificed (timing was tricky but it could be done)
This honestly is my favorite of his Legacy videos, and what got me interested in playing a Warlock in Classic.
Two years after and the Warlock legacy is still my favorite legacy video. All of the legacy’s are great but the production quality and writing for this is the best, regardless of what Ben thinks!

We are going home my friend, we are going home.
"Loyal Voidwalkers"

Destruction Warlock in WoD is like throwing marshmallows at the enemy and then suddenly using nuclear warheads.
Amen. Allelulia.
lol
took me a while to figure out wtf UI! :^)" is supposed to represent
Yes! it was Beautiful!

Such a brilliant point man.. Thematically, you are absolutely correct.. I'd never looked at Vanilla warlock like that.
Well said

That's class fantasy. Completely unrelated to a two-button rotation
49 min, OOOOOOOO, I got to get popcorn!
You need proper priorities
If its that long i better get my bleach
Hey @Preach, glad to see I made your video not once but twice! Once when you were talking about my guide and arguing about how best to level a warlock @3:41. And my spectacular HM Mimiron Firefighter tanking @34:53. Keep it up mate!

greenfire isn't vanilla
he said mop you moron, now I go kill my self for defending someone.... (pew sound)
This didn't age well lol
Absolutely fantastic video. I'm glad that you're able to put the time and effort into these that you want to now. Keep up the epic work Preach!
It’s been years since I first saw this. Still one of my favorite series on YT. Warlock main since 2005 baby! Almost shed a tear while watching this amazing retrospective again. Good times.
Really put a lot of effort into this one, great job preach!! And ghosty.

Very very interesting video, makes me appreciate my Lock even more! Also, HELL YEAH on that Dark Souls music son!
So happy I was around to experience some of these legendary warlock moments. Getting my Dreadsteed and earning my pets just felt so awesome. Awesome video Preach and Ghost. The effort into this production was worth it :)
Any hints which legacy next? BRING ON THE SHAMANS! Everyone must know there fall from Two-handed grace...
Demon hunter legacy
+1!!!!
+supajasiu YEES!!! :D
+supajasiu I want mages, probably the class that had the most spec switches out of all the others. This patch, fire is best, next one arcane is best, fire is back, now it's frost. I remember if you we're a frost mage in ICC you we're probably booted.

Fire, which went from dealing loads of crits to dots and crits.
+supajasiu hunters would be more interesting, with they weird stuff that was melee focused talents and such, leading up to the full melee hunter now
The legacy videos helped me get thru an awful break up a while back, thanks a lot preach
i listened to this last night while playing wow and came back and actually watched the whole thing today, really good stuff man, love the warlock in wow, hearthstone and in heroes of the storm with guldan. literally the best class in any game!
wiiagent Witch Doc is my Warlock for Diablo 3 and Its still the best so your statement is right!
remembering my warlock mount quest, getting guildie's to help and the months it took for preparation, yeah those were the days!
I lost a good wow friend because of Dreedsteed quest.
I love this video but man I'm gonna need more detail on the music because I really want to know where that song from the 33:00 wrath of the Lich King intro bit came from. It's such a good song and I know I've heard it before but I can't find it in any of the OSTs you mentioned.
+Bushflare Great Grey Wolf Sif - Dark Souls OST

Thank you, traveler. I have little to offer but this.
< 1 Humanity added to your inventory. >
You deserve it more than I.
+Carpe WoW Check the description man
absolutely marvelous preacher! might be the best legacy to date or at the very least the most detailed one. Keep up the great work!
Destro was the best. Alas, it didn't last.
We were gods in Mists. Destro had the hp of a tank, the mobility of a hunter, the DPS of a mage, the self-healing of a blood DK, and by far the best aoe in the game.
and the CC of a rogue
had fun with destro in pvp after fighting the idea of it but for some reason affliction is always what I want a lock to be. Then again I play as unholy in a DK so there is that
Remember the 1mln plus dps on the second boss in Siege? Affli and Destro were both so good
MoP was the high point of the Warlock in general and Demonology in particular.
But it was also the expansion with the best overall class design.
Destro was so good in MoP that i havnt played it since, nothing comes close to that feeling of wrecking people in arena with ease
RULES OF NATION xD
Great video preach ;)
+Der Feomanthar Nature ^^
+AcidIce Oh my bad xD Thanks dude :P
I've never played end game warlock, but i really enjoyed this video and it was interesting from start to finish! Thank you, very well done mate.
The dread steed mount quest line was awesome.. so many players will never know ..
Excellent video preach. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Worth all the effort you put in.
in vanilla, pvp was mostly fun for horde players, as with alliance warlocks you had to face undead rogues, where will of the forsaken was a 5(!) seconds immunity to every cc the warlock had.
Thank you so much for making the vid :) it was awesome.
FFS Preach you owe me a new laptop. I got spunk all over it because of the sudden upload.
Also: 48:20 And his name is GHOST CENA
+Kain Bloodshower Where, I couldn't see him?

Finally got some time to watch this video and I must say it was a piece of art. Amazing video.
dissapointed that he glazed over the advent of deathcoil. No other spell effected the quality of life with warlocks more than that spell.
One of my favourite videos of all time and I thank you for it!
I love the whole legacy series. I've rewatched them soooooo many times. Lol
Preacha!!! Been a fan for quite some time now, must say that I love your content! This video gave me such joy, even though I have never been able to get into the warlock class. Keep up the good work sir!
I feel like maybe an anorak isn't the most... majestic clothing option for a rouge. XD
+The Crow but your standard numbered sports T-shirt was the best for a Warlock?
+The Crow never EVER... question Ghosty's transmog skill. fucking dish faces these days.
+Ghost ATHLETIC EIGHTY-FUCKING-EIGHT M8!!
+The Crow Anorak of Shadows new legion rogue spell confirmed
Bruh, the music choice was awsome! Good job, enjoyed it alot!
Agreed!
I found it soul crushing that Blizzard got rid of the Dreadsteed questline. I woulf reroll another lock just to do this quest again.
Also, I disagree, the mighty Dreadsteed of Xoroth is still one of the best looking mounts in the game.
Tsuneo625 The Green Fire quest is amazing and still able to be done
Nice vid Preach! Damn you got me so nostalgic now... I have not played wow in such a long time now. Between you and guys like Cobrak I'm starting to feel the urge to start playing again and start making people hurt in battlegrounds again. Awesome vid bud. Keep it up!
Ive decided to add a drinking game to all your videos preach. Everytime somene says "boring" or "Mate" I drink. 38:06 - 38:21 killed me.
DUDE THIS is way better than your older vids... GJ!!
Ooooh all this Hotline Miami music feels so good
+Hean I love it!
I was hyped when i heard the BloodBorne music!
OMG THIS IS THE BEST INTRO TO ONE OF YOUR VIDEOS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! You kick so much ass man. Great job. Love your vids.
Now that Classic versions are coming, it's time to binge watch all these Legacy videos.
Really great video Preach! I really do hope that you will continue this series with all the classes. As always, keep up the good work!
Preach please do Shamans next!
I've mained a Shaman since Vanilla. They have an interesting story to tell!
Shammies need love!
Fantastic video, well worth the wait. Keep up all the great work for all of your videos.
I went through the songs you posted and I still couldn't find it,
What is the song that starts at 40:48? Right at the beginning of the MoP segment?
Thanks!
Light Club - Blizzard
Thank you!
Awesome video Preach! was a nostalgic trip down memory lane. have played warlock for a decade i had forgotten some of the early vanilla and tbc stuff. Same here, good old memories. Can see both Renjility and Cawley there. Is Lolpotatis tanking here? :D
Ahh man that was such a good video! :) Thank you, I love how well researched and versed it was, makes me feel much better about maining a warlock in WoD xD

Great video preach! Love from Denmark

thank you so much for this vid man, i'm re-subing , i miss being an op monster warlock. and what better time to come back when legion is around the corner, fighting demon hordes with demon hordes of our own.
as a person whose only ever played a prot warrior. I recently started a warlock on the Kronus server and holy shit they're amazing
Great video, alot of time goes into these and I appreciate it!
Been loving em
To date one of the biggest slaps in the face I had as a warlock main was doing so much work to get that dreadsteed and then everyone getting it practically for free in the next update.
Great work . Been maining a warlock since Vanilla . Loved going down memory lane . Keep up the good work
The girl's voice is so good
Those kind of videos are exactly why I subscribed to this channel
Which song is it that starts playing at 27:05?
Found it, Remorse-Scatter
I really enjoyed this longer form of legacy video, great job!
RKO OUT OF NOWHERE!
The work load put into these legacy videos, appreciated.
I approve of that hotline Miami 2 music
This was AMAZING, a 49 minute video that sucked me into the past of WoW again and felt like it was only a few minutes it kept me that hooked.
you had me at four ghosties on a couch! LOL!!!
No. 3rd warlock used CoR to reduce enemy armour for rogues and dps warriors :D
4th might have used CoW, but the debuff slot might have been used for another one.
You just made roll a warlock
+MacTavish Welcome to the Master class brother :)

I was a gladiator warlock during BC, played one since vanilla...came back to the class time and time again until this day. This video hits hard, makes me sad :( All those good times and memories during each expansion and the sad state they are now =\ from the glory of what hooked me in from the start.
I can't wait for the shaman version of this. What a strange road it's been for shamans, seems like blizzard has never known what to do with them.
shammys had thier own version of dont do damage, buff others in thier totems. several heated arguments about grace of air totem vs windfury totem.
amazing job on the video Preach... simply amazing.
this feels so dark soulsy
The bloodbourne music?
and the dark souls' music for the start of WoTLK
The rogue theme is from the opening cinematic of Bloodborne :D
holy shit i cant believe i missed this for 2 weeks. kick ass video mike what an awesome ending :D
Wtb legacy of shaman
Thx for the video keep it up! Never seen this channel or any wow youtubers for that matter
RIP warlock in legion
soul flame, how i miss you deeply.
@@electricmayhem8147 i miss wrath and cata warlock
I've been a Warlock since vanilla and even though I experienced pretty much everything in this first hand, it was so wonderful to see this and bring back that nostalgia.....smiled and laughed through the whole thing...THANK YOU!
"Bring the player, not the class." Ugh. What total BS.
Knowing the WoW playerbase, I'd rather bring the class...
Jordan Shank Id much rather have a great player on a class that's not "simcrafted good" rather than some dickwad flavor of the month reroll that is ass at a "good simmed" class.
It's fucking retarded is what it is. Blizzard had no excuse, they were doing anything they could to stem the bleeding of a rapidly-failing game.
This was eeeeeepic!!!!! really well done Preacher man, well played :)
Wrath was okay, not amazeballs? Lol, wrath is THE best version of the game there is. For PVP. Everything else is shit compared to it
For PvP? You mean where protection paladins ran amok with overpowered death knights? Yes, I'm a gladiator warlock talking.
Thanks Preach for another awesome video I will rewatch several times. :)
this class sucks in Legion, FYI
why?
They were weak at legion launch but recently got buffed in a balance patch. This guy lacks patience.
diggoryx how exactly were they weak? I'm a bit confused o.0
Except sim wise, Demos are the highest dps on a single target
Finaly Sargeras listened to my prayers and we have Warlock Legacy video!! and what a video it was.. When I tried first wow in wotlk I played a mage, was bored and left.. then I got back in WoD.. with mage again, since I know I want to be a caster.. get bored again..then a friend reccommended me a warlock, and my life was never the same after.. Thank you preach for this video as it trully is a masterpiece that glorifies the Warlocks and puts them in their right spot.. on the top!
that skit was cringy AF
Jonathan Jr. Winkles just like your overused picture :)
Emil Axelsson Ur smiley face at the end is cancer
Just as bad as flat brim hat fuckboys putting AF at the end of everything, huh?
STUNNER! STUNNER! OMG!!!!!! Lol. Freaking loved the ending! Loved the whole vid! Freaking love you guys. Preach and Ghosty FTW M8!!
That’s an rko..
Man I love our videos . I started at the end of vanilla and have been hooked every sense.
Great video man. Keep it up, i love these legacy vids
Amazing Preach. Absolutely loved it! Good times man, can't wait for the next one. :D
Nice to see the Legacy of the Warlock after a long wait. Worth it! =)
honestly that intro was so fucking insane that i still cant comprehend it ... the rest almost felt like a let down since i got that sick lord of the rings intro vibe from it !
solid 8/8 video m8
Great vid, you missed few things though:
- In Nac, you had to make and hand out healthstones one at a time because you could only hold one and nothing in Nax gave shards
- On Patchwerk and other high damage fights there was no spare healing during progression.
- Sacrifice Locks could get ANOTHER 10% damage in TBC if a healer rez'd the succubus they sacrificed (timing was tricky but it could be done)
These videos are so nice to just listen to while chillin farming in WoW
