Hi, I'm Uyen Ninh but please just call me Uyen!
I moved from Vietnam to Germany 3 years ago for studying. I make silly videos about how Germany looks like through the eyes of a Vietnamese student - on my way to be your favourite Ausländer! :D - Розваги
I am really enjoying the longer videos. I can tell that you’re getting more comfortable with the longer format.
Thank you for the support ❤️ it’s way more challenging for me than the short form format, but it is also a lot of fun to make
I agree! More longer videos please! 🩷
@@uyenninh your editing is getting much more complex! Nice.
For a second I thought 'Why are they talking about 🏏 Cricket ' 😭
Shes faking the extrovert side… lol, because shes an INFP
It would be pretty exhausting (for the longer format indeed)
i know because INFP flock to me to seek refuge LOL
This is how vlogging should be done. No flexing, no pretentions, no airs, no effs given😂! I normally never watch vlogs, but your authenticity makes things so interesting! Btw, Berlin is almost always a food trip for us, too - my husband and I live in Leipzig.
I couldn't agree more. This was so enjoyable to watch.
And also dragging things or hinting at things so you’re forced to watch a whole video of boring stuff. I just either scroll on or skip to the end. Not with her videos. It’s all interesting and genuine.
Oooh, I went to a Vietnamese restaurant in Leipzig, it was heavenly. I had the vegan duck made of seitan. It was better than real meat. Amazing.
@@theverhohnepeople8934 it's true, lots of good food in Leipzig as well, we're never disappointed with it. But Berlin is just on another level of course!
omg I always wanted to visit Leipzig!
The history of the dong xuan centre is actually really inspiring. The west and east of berlin hired guest workers from all around the world, and in the eastern part of berlin that was mainly vietnamese workers. They didnt have any ingredients from back home though. So a vietnamese man started buying these slaughter halls for cheap and turned them one after another into these markets. He even started a specialised shipping firm that managed all the supplies for him xD.
Hi, your mostly right, but the part with the slaughter halls are wrong. All halls are newly build, one after a other and continue. This area was former a industrial complex around to produce "electrical coal" (contact brushes) and other parts for electrical motors. After the reunion of east and west Germany, this area was "led open" as the company was going off business.
The Dong Xuan Center complex is the 3-th or 4-th great trading center in Berlin for Asian products over the time - and the largest and actual best. 2 of the formal existent are closed and the last other existent is not far from the Dong Xuan Center, at the Marzahner Str. 17, 13053 Berlin. (I would not recommend a visit as the center is almost empty and dying...)
The owner of the Dong Xuan Center (and his family) have build some other businesses around the center, like a hotel and the newly opened event center right at the entry of the area. The event center is build at the foundation of the formal "Kulturhaus Elektrokohle" (culture center for the workers at the business complex "electrical coal").
I'm almost shopping every week(end) with my wife there and each time amazed about the size and the count of shops you can buy from, and almost each time there are more shops. 😅🤤
@@theta-my8837 thanks for correcting me, i just assumed that they were slaughter halls cause Lichtenberg was kind of known at the time for them! I also go regularly (at least once a month), they just have the best viet-thai food in Berlin xD
@@Obsidianen The slaughter halls area are not fare from the Dong Xuan Center, roughly 3km. Have a look at this for further information: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zentralvieh-_und_Schlachthof
If you like to have a view of the remaining ruins at the "Hammelauktionshalle" at the "Blankensteinpark" right beside the "Rinderauktionshalle", yet used by "Zweirad Stadler."
07:00 I was shook and kinda mad 😂 that's my family's restaurant and you just happened to go there on a day or time when I wasn't working, damn it!
Oh wow!!
The fact that I, an American, am watching a Vietnamese UA-camr tour Germany while speaking English makes me feel like I'm living in the best timeline 😊
Same here. She makes me laugh. Greetings from Florida. 😊
England gave the world the medium (ie. Language) by which multi-national relationships like this are possible. You're welcome. 🎉
@raptor4441, as a Somali watching this I agree with your comment.
A Slovak person, speaking neither German nor Vietnamese, here. Thank you for making English the new Lingua Franca so people from all of the world can understand each other (yea, I know, the English people have something with it as well).
@@suzy8109 Hmmm. The way English was spread wasn't exactly peaceful (*cough* murderous Colonialism and Exploitation), a bit misplaced to say "you are welcome", don't you think? Oh well. 😅 But hey, the Angles and Saxons (Danes, Germans) brought you English to your Island. You are welcome. 😂
Excellent vlog! My girlfriend is Indian, and the amount of similarities in ...everything you guys do and we do is astonishing. Poor German boyfriend who has to go through infinite Vietnamese restaurants for content! Especially at 7:25, when you say "I'm from North and this is South so its even new to me" is verbatim what she says, haha!
It doesn't seem like a chore to him, he obviously really enjoys seeing Uyen be happy, and he liked the food too
I mean it's a lot different with respect to india tho... North Indian kashmiri & South Indian Tamil are basically 180° different from each other.
Your time stamp is 10 seconds off
People from different countries have far more in common than not. Yet people always focus of the differences.
I am a British Indian and even I can confirm that the cultural and cuisine differences between North and South India are like Night and Day. I may be biased but I would say North Indian cuisine is best.
Im lying in hospital trying to distract myself from the pain. This video was a delight to watch. You have an amazing personality and the pair of you are so cute! Thank you for sharing a bit of your lives with us. xx
Hope you’ll get well soon 🍀
Wishing you a speedy recovery
Omg she should pin this comment fr.
Hope your recovery is going well!
Hope you are well now!
You both are just as funny, sweet, and charming in long format as you are in short format! Thank you for taking the time to share your adventures with us. Here's to many more!
I eat too good uyên ninh thank you
It's nice when someone is able to enjoy Berlin as much as you do. I feel like it's always kind of a hit or miss for someone visiting. So it's nice that you were able to show the small, but amazing sides of Berlin :)
Berlin is relatively small in comparison to the greatest European cities as Paris London or Mockba. So I guess Berlin might be quite boring
I now want to visit Germany but definitely Berlin
@@freetibett5024Except Berlin is much, much bigger than Paris. Nice try, chap.
@@freetibett5024".. Berlin might be boring" said literally no one ever... You dont know anything about Berlin, do you?
@@Thiesi no its not.. It's just the inner city of Paris that is its own district.. The whole city of Paris is much bigger than berlin
I would never have guessed that there was such a large Vietnamese presence in Berlin! Thank you for taking us along with you!
A relic from the GDR.
It comes as a result of Communist Work Exchange Programs. So, you'll see this immigration phenomenon in formerly Communist areas, like Prague.
They generally have a decently large presence in east germany! When i was growing up and in school, every stage of my school life had at least one second generation vietnamese person in there, one of them was even my best friend growing up.
back then east germany had a contract with vietnam and vietnamese workers were sent there.
@@Desmaad Ah. I grew up in west berlin and was confused but that makes sense now.
Thank you Uyen and German Fiancé for sharing your fun getaway to Berlin. What an honour to be invited to Google and be gifted with a new phone. Im so glad you found a little Vietnamese corner in Germany. Walking makes you hungry so im not surprised you had space for all that amazing food 😊hopefully you didn’t feel too homesick afterwards.
Looking forward to your next adventure. 👏🏼
German fiancé!
@@jackiedelvalle oops, I forgot he'd been upgraded...
Hi Uyen, you both are so funny, relatable and down to earth. If you ever plan to come to Paris, don't hesitate to reach out. We have a pretty big vietnamese community (13th arrondissement) and my boyfriend and I would be delighted to be your guides.
You two are so cute, love the vlogs 💜
Can you recommend good vietnamese restaurants in Paris?
@@MissSarahGM hello yes, there's "Le sourire de Saïgon" - "Viet Pho" "Bonjour Vietnam" for some really nice bobun - "Un jour a Hanoï" - "Do et Riz" "Pho Bida" (this one is a must) you'll find a lot of other places in Paris but those ones are iconic
@@Black3404 thank you so much! I love pandan desserts, do you know where to buy them?
@@MissSarahGM Yess, "Pâtisserie de Choisy" has a whole theme around pandan desserts and sponges, it's so good. Or "Binici" less choices but very cute dessert designs and one or two pandan specialties
Chef’s kiss to this video. SO good! I, too, navigate by food. You two make excellent tour guides. Very good editing as well!
Really loving your content, is so refreshing to see someone not pretending, and just enjoying good things in life 💗
For real! Love her content and I’m from the US
You are honestly such a comfort person for me. Your videos really ease my anxiety and I look forward to them so much. Thank you Uyen 💙
Your long form vids really remind me of OG UA-cam where 'normal' people were just sharing their unique lives.
The adventures you two share with us viewers are so enjoyable! You balance wholesome but realistic content so well. I look forward to every notification from your channel.
You should go to Düsseldorf, here we have plenty of asian supermarket and restaurant (authentic one, not the germanized version! ;) ), the city center is practically full with Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese restoes! We even have a Vietnamese foodcourt (complete with stalls and plastic chair - just like in Asia), though the location is a bit away. Either way, Ddorf nearer from Mannheim, Berlin is farther. ;)
Agree! There's also an Indian one. And there's so many different pastry shops around the station, Greek, Korean, Japanese, Turkish, Korean, Chinese etc. You can experience the sweets of the world there🤤
Where is the vietnamese foodcourt located? :) Need to go there!
Hallo! What's the name of the Vietnamese food court in Düsseldorf please? I'd really like to visit the city soon 😊
@@audemakowski8171i think it’s Kim Phi but the food court only opens on Saturday
@@phantranhoang343 thank you so much! I'm saving the address 😊
I love to see someone who, when there is good food to be had, just go ahead and enjoy it. That's actually pretty wholesome.
Watching your video and seeing how happy you were put a smile on my own face!! I love watching you two enjoy yourselves. Also your editing skills have improved a lot 😊 Thank you Uyen for the amazing content 💕
You seem so genuine to me. I love it 😊 it feels so relaxing to follow you around. Both of you make it easy to enjoy your content. Without any pressure of perfection 🙏🏻 you are doing so well
Wow! Berlin seems like an incredible place. I live in Rhode Island, USA. I'd love to visit one day.
Also I really love the longer videos too! Keep them coming.
We have some wonderful Vietnamese restaurants in Connecticut, if you're ever interested. (A family friend is Vietnamese, so we have the inside scoop)😊
@@Kiki-D-Kimono Really?? What city? I'll definitely go check it out.
And you are not wrong 😉it's amazing
Berlin is next to New York City, London, Amsterdam and Tokyo my favorite city. However, Berlin hits different if you are into partying. The night clubs in Berlin raised me😂
@@rinmartell2678 That does sound fun!!!
Your joy and happiness really shown through in this video. Keep smiling!
I grew up in northern California with so many different cultures and as a result I love trying different cuisines.
Thank you for being yourself in all of your videos! ❤
One of the reasons I love Berlin. Everyone gets to find their niche. Everyone gets to feel at home. Yet also plenty of spaces for all the niches to mingle. You discover those things only if you're not only sticking to the touristy spots of course. Beautiful video.
To a degree - if you are a sensitive person, you value politeness, or you have ptsd, it's one of the harshest european cities to be in
@@vacafuega certainly. if you can't handle any harshness or rough edges around you, and exclusively want to surround yourself with pleasant things, Berlin won't necessarily be for you... or any other big cosmopolitan city like New York, London, Paris etc tbh. Although I do know plenty of polite and sensitive artistic types who still love Berlin and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
Anyway, thankfully Germany has a lot of wonderful smaller towns but also proper cities which will be more pleasant to people of that nature. That's one positive thing about Germany, it's not just one city that's worth living in and they all have their very own vibe.
@@vacafuega Maybe if you choose to live in the middle of Neukölln...
This was so fun to watch, thank you for showing us your trips with your fiance ❤️
Feeling like trying out some vietnamese foods suddenly
Love the longer videos and it’s so cute the tiny bit of German accent you are getting along the way
Your channel is an amazing immersion into both Vietnamese and German culture! I love your relationship with your boyfriend. Your honesty and humor are very refreshing. Thank you Uyen!
Only channel I have a smile plastered on my face always while watching. Thank you both so much for sharing your cultures, stories, love and adventures with us!!

The “I’m F U L L” had me laughing 😂 loving the long format videos!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Really enjoyed this.
It's so refreshing to watch you traveling and eat various videos. You have that innocence that would make everyone smile. I watch your videos to cheer myself whenever I feel down or upset.
The editing in this vlog is SO cute, the personality of both of you really shines through in everything, including the music! Really really well done hope you keep up the long form! I would even subscribe to a Patreon for this style of content :)
This was a wonderful video, thank you for making this. I really enjoyed seeing how much you liked Berlin.
Thank you for sharing your trip with us. I love seeing your experiences and how you both relate to the food of each others cultures.
I like you, Uyen! You are so friendly and natural.
The first online personality I really like.
Thank you so much for showing Brammibal's. We were in Berlin last week and we tried their donuts. Soooo delicious! And thank you for explaining Vietnamese coffee in another video. We tried it in a vegan Vietnamese restaurant and we liked it so much that we bought everything to make it at home.
I also tried it at a vegan Vietnamese restaurant. How hard is it to make at home?
Watching your vlogs is really fun and relaxing! I hope you continue making more long videos in the future, I'll be cheering you on 💌
Absolutely loved watching this!!! It’s great seeing you both having a wonderful time and especially getting to eat food that makes you happy in your soul🥰
Great video! Love it. And love that you found a place where you can get things from your home. ❤ Seeing you so happy made me feel happy. And you guys seem to have a great relationship. Very funny parts of the video that was very charming. 😊
I enjoyed this video so much! I lived in Berlin for a couple years, and as an asian(korean), vietnamese and thai food helped me to survive. 😅 Btw I already commented at your other videos, your natural charming personality shines in your longer ones better.
I love these longer vlogs! And it's especially fun to see your travels!
This vlog is so natural and I feel comfortable watching it 🥰🥳
more vlogs to come pls 🌞🌞🌞
No words how much i love uyen. Her vlogs are both enjoyable and informative. Im so happy that i accidentally found your tiktok and now your vlogs. ♥️♥️
I like German BF's accent and taste in t-shirts. I love Uyen's sense of humor! Before these videos I was never really interested in visiting Germany but you guys make it fun!🙏
I would also like to have this T-shirt. Have tried the Google image search and unfortunately found nothing.
I would love to travel with you two!! So very sweet and relaxed and fun!!
I feel very inspired when I watch your videos because I want to be a content creator as well and I can’t relate to most youtubers that show a glamorized life.
Your content is so genuine, simple and authentic, it’s so heartwarming to watch!❤️
I can see myself doing it like you do at some point, seeing your success inspire so many people I hope you know that!
You both are so sweet! Your relationship is so adorable!
I love your unique comedic editing. I knew you were northern vietnamese since my family comes from there too (but I have to admit that I find southern cuisine the tastier 😅)
I'm really happy to see you two enjoying my city. Berlin can really be a wonderful place. I'm glad that you saw some of the best of what Berlin has to offer!
The neighborhood that Don Xuan Center is is has very deep history with the Vietnamese population of Berlin. Also, Treptower Park across from the Embassy. If you didn't get a chance to learn about and experience how essential that history is to Berlin's culture and values today, we can get you hooked up with resources. The reason you felt so at home here is because Berlin is, and has been for generations, a home to Vietnamese people.
This was great loved the long format and GF was adorable as always. Glad you two had such a great time.
I keep smiling throughout the video, love your positive energy ❤️❤️
I love watching your little adventures :)
omg if you ever go back could you review some of the vegan vietnamnese places in berlin? theres sooo many and i love them all but i've always wondered how authentic they are!
Love seeing your travel stories. I hope its as fun for you as it looks from here. Great job as always!
They are so genuine. Love it❤
I think you have an awesome personality. Aside from being funny, you're adorable, articulate, witty and so much more that I know I'll learn as I continue to watch your videos. With all that said, here's the awkwardly random question....where did you purchase the green daisy sweater? It's so cute! I need one in my life. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm going on a trip to Berlin alone for the first time in September and I'm autistic so new things and places are really hard for me. Getting familiar with Berlin ahead of time with your video is super helpful and will make the whole experience less stressful and more enjoyable! Once again thank you for making this video!
I'm also excited to get to check out an authentic vietnamese restaurant, as where I live doesn't have any.
I love seeing you two enjoy your time in Berlin, it is so cute!
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing your adventures in Belin and letting me live vicariously thru you 🙂
I really do love your long video!! please do this more 🥂 it's so relaxing and comfortable to watch.
+++I never expected to see 아침햇살 drinks hahaha
Oh, I love the video, makes me appreciate Berlin just that little bit more again, when it starts getting on my nerves a bit. ;-) I've lived here for 20+ years now, but there are still some places I have never been, like the Illuseum. But I really like Dong Xuan center, for me, it's like a little vacation without having to drive very far :-) Just last time when we went there I tried the boiled rice dough with sausage you had. Never had it before and loooooved it, it was so good! Thank you for taking us with you on your adventures!
I loved this video so much! It felt like i was there with you guys shopping and seeing all the delicious food. You are so adorable and funny and down to earth, and you both are so great together. I loved the longer video as well. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
This was fantastic! Thanks for sharing this great trip!

Your videos are so fun to watch and i enjoy watching them over and over again because they are so comforting 😊😊
Your videos bring me so much joy!!
Wow sugar cane juice! We drink it in Brazil too, many times with lemon juice and ice. And when we are eating "pastel" which is a type of fried dumpling. I miss it so much 🤤
Vegan doughnuts! They look so good.
That museum looks fun.
In Berlin you get everything in vegan
I love your vlog style it reminds me of my favorite tv shows where they travel to eat. I watched a lot when I was younger and you get to see the personality behind the person as well. I love it its very comforting watching you 😊
love your videos! i miss Berlin! ty for sharing!
You seem like such a fun travel buddy.
Glad you enjoyed your trip!
You guys are sooo soo sweet!! Im a huge fan of yours Uyen! 🥰🤗
This was so fun to watch! I enjoy your sense of humor that gets to be showcased in your shorts, but I also just really like you and German Fiancé as people too 😊
These always cheer me up. Thank you for sharing your lovely life . ❤
Crazy! I’m in Berlin right now for 3 days before visiting other parts of Germany and it’s been so fun!
The roasted rice drink is really the good one. And you can find it at every korean store 😊

I love the long videos, Berlins vietnmese food is some of the best I've had in Germany, I went in 2018 and didn't want to leave!
This is one of my favorite channels. Thanks for the laughs and interesting topics.
Frau Ninh,

Perfekt.
The Czech Republic has a huge Vietnamese community, which means we get plenty of vietnamese restaurants and shops selling produce. There is even a small town called Little Hanoi in the outskirts that has even more shops/services/businesses for the Vietnamese community 🩷

I only recently found you through UA-cam shorts. My husband is from German decent, and we've talked about moving (at least visiting) in the future. I love these longer form videos! You are so charming and cozy! Thank you for your content!
I could watch this for hours! Love you Guys!
I could feel your excitement about eating your home cuisine! I feel same way when having the opportunity to eat authentic Bulgarian food! 😂❤
I would love to try Bulgarian food. I had a Bulgarian aupair as a kid and she never cooked us anything that was Bulgarian. I had aupairs from different countries round the world growing up 😅

I just want to say thank you for making this blog! I love your videos it’s entertaining and simple and I just love it! Have a good day!
I'm glad I'm learning about the Vietnamese diaspora via your channel. I never knew there was a large Vietnamese population in Germany, with enough in Berlin to have dedicated areas of Vietnamese culture. I grew up in an area with a relatively large Vietnamese population (I had Viet friends growing up, many Asian supermarkets had signs in Vietnamese, and of course, I loved eating pho and banh mi). I'm happy that people in other parts of the world have access to a similar experience I did due to the Vietnamese immigrants in their areas.
Thanks for taking us with you on such an enjoyable trip to Berlin. It's lovely to see how much you're enjoying the food and touch of home.
I love this vlog! Makes me want to stay in Berlin awhile.
You‘re both are just the cutest thank u for sharing your trip:))
