    Doesn’t really surprise me, in these remote areas it’s no wonder creatures grow to be so large. Very few natural predators, if any, making them the apex predator with bountiful sources of food and virtually no resistance from humans. Plus, given the remoteness, it’s not like many people are looking for it, which gives it confidence. I’ve always said the largest record breaking animals all exist in the only places we don’t look for them… Aka the middle of nowhere

    • @bingbongbingbongbingbongbing90
      @bingbongbingbongbingbongbing90 8 місяців тому +1

      Yes but I suspect these guys are bullshitting because these stories make money.
      There are probably some Lolong or a little larger sized crocodiles out there, though we have and do hunt a lot of crocodiles so their chances of reaching that size is decreased. With less hunting time will tell if we get more monster crocs. Saying that 29ft is insane that croc would likely weigh 3-4 times that if lolong, it doesn’t seem likely.

      Actually in Australia in the early to mid 1900's they were killing 30ft plus crocs. I came across a floating dead 14 ft croc that was bloated and had a bite mark on the side of it from a croc that had a head width of more than double the size of the dead one. The big ones get very territorial. This was in Gulf of Carpentaria Northern Australia. A place called Arakun. A guy had been taken off the end of his jetty. he was standing on the jetty. They had his funeral the day we arrived. No body because he was eaten. I've had my fish taken off the end of my rod from a large croc only feet away in a 15 foot boat. I have seen 20 plus ft crocs quite a few times. Also in the kimberley's , Top of Western Australia. All very remote areas. Had them try and tip boats and try to launch into the boats and push them back with the oars. The little boat these guys had is ridiculous.

    Legend says that he was raised by a witch.
    Eyewitnesses claims that this crocodile is big as a passenger bus and most people who saw this crocodile estimates that the length is between 9-12meters. (No one would believe you and people would think that you're crazy if you tell them that you saw a 12 meter croc.)
    This croc was spotted with a full grown carabao on its mouth and the size of the head was almost as big as the carabao.
    According to the locals, lolong was too small compared to potol.
    Potol has a big scar on his snout.
    POTOL is a present day Deinosuchus and will break all the records.

    Many people know that the Saltwater Crocodile and (to a lesser degree) the Nile Crocodile are capable of attaining supersize lengths of 6+ Meter, 20 Foot Individuals but these two species are not the only extant mega-massive crocodilians. Among the The Orinoco Crocodile, The American Crocodile, The Gharial, The Tomistoma (aka False or Malayan Gharial), The Black Caiman and even the American Alligator, Super Size 20 Foot 6+ Meter Males were once not uncommon, but hunting with firearms has largely removed the genetics for Giantism from modern gene pools.

    • @johnnyfavorite1194
      @johnnyfavorite1194 4 роки тому +29

      fullswing Possibly. But consider the plentiful species like the American Alligator. Nobody has found a 19 Foot Gator since Edward Avery McIlhenny (The Man who literally wrote the book on the Species) shot one in 1890. He also captured a 17-Footer Alive. Alligators have been a protected species since 1967, so where are the mega-gators? The largest harvested in modern times was a 15-Footer shot in 2014. (recently there were 2019 news articles claiming another 15-Foot-Gator was shot in Florida but the pictures accompanying the article tell a less impressive story) The biggest Gators are always bagged first so perhaps they do not get the opportunity to pass on those supersize genes. Now consider the endangered species like the Orinoco Croc, The Tomistoma, and the Gharial. You are correct that it takes perhaps four or five decades for a Crocodilian to grow to 5-6 meters so maybe the stuff of 6 meter animals still exists.

We were excited to see the 13 ft and my buddy got a picture maybe 30 ft from it on the other side of a barb wired fence. Then when we found the 16 ft , it was just scary. Sun bathing on the shore. No hunting is allowed there, or public access for security reasons, and we were surveying, used the reflectorless EDM to measure them. One of the guards said there is a bigger one, with a missing foot , but we never saw it . Still pretty cool .

    That same crocodile hunter was in another documentary with Lolong and he investigated two reports of another monster crocodile. In the first sighting he literally missed the beast by only hours and the slide mark was still left visible in the grass near the water. He measured it and came out with a length of near 40 feet. In the second sighting a man said that a massive crocodile killed one of his cattle. He said the monster tried to drag the dead animal under a bridge but got stuck so he got a good look at the monster. He said a second giant crocodile came and started feeding on the dead cattle. The farmer said that the smaller crocodile was Lolong and that the monster was 40 feet long. The croc hunter also estimated the beast at 40 feet long. I find it unlikely that there are crocodiles that big alive today but I am open to the idea of crocodiles in the 8 meter range.

Chtio could do things with that croc that are astounding. And it wasn't that Pocho had this affection for other humans... only the man who'd taken such care of it when it was injured. So this 29 1/2 foot monster croc could Easily be At least 1000 pounds more and possibly even hit up to 2 full tons or 4000 lbs.
