I watched this playthrough while it happened. I played with my own group at around the same time. And here I am again, more than a year later, starting this series over again. I really can't recommend this series enough. The game itself is incredible and worth playing with your own group, the players of this particular series are super entertaining, and, based on this comment right here, it is actually rewatchable despite being a legacy game. So why are you still reading this? Watch the thing!
This was a lot of fun! Only real comment I have is to make sure you watch out for outside pathways, just like the house, they have specific "doorways" and not all of them are 4way, so you technically shouldn't have been able to pass directly from the creek to the pasture, as there was no connecting pathway. Just like the house, you can only pass between tiles if two yellow doorways connect, outside, you can only pass between tiles if two dirt pathways connect.
Spoiler: I choose to believe that Damien was a viking and that was his ghost, and for some reason had to possess a relative (Silas) in order to enact revenge. My argument for this is that the viking ghost departed when Emily (Damien's killer) expired.
So glad I'm getting into this legacy campaign from the ground floor, these Legacy games are fascinating and I already love Betrayal. I'm only about a hour in but am already super impressed with how the game is focusing on storytelling and is overall just an fantastic update of the original. We need creepy ambience and possibly lighting for the rest of the campaign.
It helped that he was scratching off all the boxes on everyone's card as they died. Conclusion was that only the first card dealt was ever the witch or there was none.
I'm super excited to see how Betrayal handles the legacy game aspect. I feel like I may be setting my hopes too high but I'm hoping for an overarching plot that ties in to the individual play sessions.
Here at the beginning of the video, so I hope I'm not asking a question that gets answered, but... Graham said they won't follow up the full campaign with a Free Mode play, but will Free Mode enter rotation on AFK?
This might not matter since these are kinda pre-recoreded, but rooms like the kitchen and the creek work better if you think of them as healing tiles rather than a stat boost, since having lower stats makes it easier to get the bonus
I played one game with the creek that extended the game by 30 minutes due to the last 2 of us healing. And then another last weekend were we hide the creek to prevent that exact thing (we were trying to end the game before 1am)
@@LuciferVlcak It's a special rule for that scenario. You can't really defend 'with' a weapon, you're correct. And that's why Nevin didn't add dice to his roll. But if they don't possess a weapon, they can't do damage to the Viking (even if they win the combat) *at all* (aside from traps). But because Nevin did have a weapon, he can do damage on his defense (like normal). And the role-play fluff is that they're using the weapon to hurt him, when he can't be hurt by fisticuffs (which is why Emily wasn't able to harm Silas even though she won her defense combat, which normally should harm him). To clarify, also regardless of how much damage they do, he goes down 1 on the Blood track. Which is why Beth only did 1 damage, even though she won her offense by like a lot and should have otherwise shot him right in his forehead.
Minor spoiler for chapter 1: If you find the Broach in the other omen room, the book instructs you to give the broach a different name than what the LRR crew found. I'm not far enough into my own playgroup's run to know whether or not it's actually important to properly record the omen names as the tome instructs.
Ahrpigi welcome to the cult of appreciating cam. Your duty now is to farther spread the appreciation of cam and induct new recruits who appreciate cam.
Creative_Commander I do think it’s all or nothing, though. You may ring the bells and move everyone. Confirmed by Rod Daviau on BGG: boardgamegeek.com/thread/2102975/move-all-players-1-tile
Huh, I guess my group assumed the same, maybe I’m thinking something else, but that’s what my group did. We did the other haunt in chapter 1 and won because early on I moved only those that needed to be moved. Though the dev of the game does take precedence. Thanks for letting me know
You know what? It would be funny to go ahead and add that card and put the family crest on it anyways just because. And to be fair, let fate decide by a coin toss: heads not being a witch tails being a witch. I'd really like to know what that card says IF it actually exists. I also wonder what the haunt would be if it started in the Kitchen as well...
Cam spending 10 minutes (not literally but it felt like forever) on the scratch off card to see if his character is human or a witch was soooo..... Cam. 😂
1:22:49 "So are you patching up holes in your wall, with furniture?" Look don't judge me. I get enough shit from that wolf. Said all my stuff looked tacky.... judgmental ass wolf...
Spoilers beware!!! Okay, so at the end there, during the second game, someone made a comment about the defender not being able to deal damage, thus Ghram took a point of damage away, well that isn’t true... and yeah there was a moment or two where he didn’t deal damage to anyone. So idk what ya guys wanna do. Either way is fine, just wanted to let y’all know. This game is awesome, you guys are great, can’t wait to see more.
Technically, in this case the defender wouldn't deal damage to the viking if the defender rolls higher, as the heros can only deal damage with a weapon, and defending is counted as unarmed.
In this version of the game, the stairway leads to the landing, you don't need anything special to get into or out of the basement. There's also no 'roof' area, as far as I know.
i appreciate how much adam cares about twitch names... but i love watching cam mess with him/them XD and i hope he deliberately butchers my name one day :P
@2:06:30 Spoilers (Game 2/Chapter 1): The character Emily is a Ninja, I'm gonna be sad when this ghost kills her, as she's like 42 years old now, and just got up from being slammed into the cement by a gd Viking Berserker, and then roundhouse kicked him in his jaw. And when she was 14, she butchered 2 adults and an old man with her bare hands.
Here's a little cheat for you guys: if you line up the front steps with the entrance hall, if an outside tile and ground floor tile have a connecting door, it becomes adjacent. Example: the Hearth and the Crossroads. If you match them together, you can go through like a regular tile.
Oh yes... Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference. So, how do we tell weither she is made of wood? Does wood sink in water? What also floats in water? A Duck. Exactly! So... logically. If... she weighs the same as Duck... she's made of Wood. And therefore..... A Witch!
“The best reveal is that there is no witch”…..Adam grins to the camera 😂😂priceless!!!
Emily: Oh, You're approaching me?
Everyone else: I can't beat the witch out of you without getting closer.
Emily: Then come as close as you like.
Paul Frakher I recognise your profile picture, do you have any idea where Stg. Frog went? I can’t find it anywhere, sorry if this is off topic.
Perfect.

"I've seen Adam run out of a room cause a mannequin fell over."
To be fair Ben, so have you. From an Adam mannequin, you put there yourself.
When they guessed that there was no witch, I was imagining Paul walking out of the shadows cackling madly, being like It was ME, you fools!

Would someone kindly explain to me what is meant by 'legacy' in regards to these games?
@@KUROHiTO88 sorry for the necro, but legacy simply means that each game session builds on the previous game session and changes are usually permanent

I house ruled that. If you rolled a blank you can't use the weapon the rest of the game. I wasn't destroying a weapon
Then don't play a legacy game, if you're not willing to destroy cards.
"Oh you have ghosts in your blood. Why don't you cocaine about it?"

I would be entertained by the idea of the family heirloom doggo who mysteriously outlives everyone.

James has been hype for Betrayal Legacy ever since the Risk Legacy series a million years ago. So glad to see it underway!
So excited to watch this series. I'm playing through this with my group right now. We're about 6 or 7 chapters in.
The Creek and the Kitchen are designed so that weak people can recover but strong people will likely waste time.
I'm getting to watch all these old streams. This one is SOO GOOD! These 5 have to do something like this again!
And yes, my math is correct, I'm including Paul because he's awesome and funny and I love his off camera jokes and tips.
