I was 25 years old when I was a fan of Championship Ballroom Dancing in that year - 1996. But I did not know a hint of the advanced patterns and figures they were doing at all - I was just starting ballrooming at that time. I can reveal now that the samba music played on that video was "Jibaro" by Electra, and from the not-so-clear music from the cha-cha, I think the cha-cha music played was "Chiquita Bonita" by Gigantes del Latino (Giants of Latin). Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin were my favorite Latin dancesport couple and I wanted to be like them so I studied International Latin from 1997 to right now - reading the Walter Laird technique books, studied the ISTD syllabi, and tried to teach myself everything that I need to know to master International Latin. Of course I took some group classes in International Latin and I think I got the arm styling and musicality right down to the details!!!!
