Unfortunately that’s planned obsolescence for you really, we will never go back to the days when machines lasted 20 years. Really 7 years for a machine of today is good
It is what it is! Probably just out of warranty and then it was only worth running it into the ground.
@@bootsowen these only have 1yr warranty, which tells you everything you need to know about indesit
7 years for Indesit is amazing! 😬
Usually alot of them seem to last 7 like my Hotpoint died at 8 and aunts died at 7 😂
It's not really long enough for a machine that you pay so much for!
@@bootsowen these were about £250 if not less for the 7kg one, my aunites was probably £300 new and lasted 7 years for 7 people, my Hotpoint WMF760 bearings went after 11 years
Surprised how it lasted 7 years 😯
Regarding “Merloni” are you referring to a particular manufacturing site or product line?
I think Merloni is one of the factories that manufacturing is subcontracted to, but Please correct me.
@@bootsowen I don’t know 🤷♂️ but it’s an interesting question, so let’s open it up to others.
The Merloni family founded the company, so is the lack of quality that broad in the products across the firm.
@@bootsowen To make things interesting (well for those inclined :-D ) there was two Merloni companies, formed by two brothers after a family feud. One was Merloni Elettrodomestici, that owned the Indesit, Ariston and later from 2001, Hotpoint. Merloni Elettrodomestici changed it's name to Indesit Company around 2002 and is now owned (including their factories) by Whirlpool since 2014l. The other Merloni, Antonio Merloni often made appliances for third parties under contract (i.e. Bendix, older Whirlpool washer dryers and built in appliances for MFI). They also would buy local brands, with Servis in the UK being one. They went bust around 2007 though their factory was owned by another company (JP Industries) and still produced appliances to their design under the old Ardo brand until last year.
my old indesit went the same way, changed the tub within 6 years.
Then the tub wasnt right cos it kept rubbing the door seal.
so they condemned it.
i guess u could possibly put a different tub in there from another brand, not sure if works ... could be worth a try ? to see if the machine will work??? one thing ive never seen others do,
This machine is gone some time ago Ben. It was a video that was waiting to be edited. It is crazy to see how bad the bearings could be.
IIIIIIH! Indesit! SCHROTT!
My grandma had a 12 year old indesit
Owen, I come across several sealed drum Indesit machines with duff bearings, not a brand to be trusted and in the same league as Hotpoint. No doubt out of balance loads and high spin speeds don't help, again it's the mechanically illiterate that start off the snow ball effect, cheers
You see, the more machines they sell the more money they make!
@@bootsowen Yes and some people are willing to accept the balance of price over quality, however they can last a long time. Care with load size and spin speeds, cheers
Sadly in My country You won't find any washers at the street if it was me i'll try to fix it Even tho is a crappy machine me still Nice vídeo!
What country is that, sometimes you have to know where to look!
And here we are what a shame ☹️
For an indesit 7 years is good 😂😂 usually rare they last more than about 3
Cheapest seals, so the bearings get wet. These machines washes good, but can't last for years in a family
That is true
It's 7 years old and they fell apart I used to work for them
What did you do for them?
@@bootsowen I did everything with them buddy im a domestic service engineer, I work for bosch now
