Judging by the taillights it's definitely a 1972 Electra, 1972 was the last year where you could get a desmogged big block V8 before the engines became polluted with smog pumps and emission control devices which totally affected performance and drivability.
nice car, of the 1970's Buick Electra's I consider 1972 to be the best looking one of the bunch, I love the smooth lines of the front end along with how the car looks on the side and the rear
My family had one of these back in the 70s. That thing was huge! I remember how many cigarette lighters it had, one per person :) These cars usually rust out pretty bad in the rear quarters and the skirts made it hard to clean out. Ours was in nice condition when we bought it second hand I think it was around 5 years old but it quickly became a rotting dying dinosaur and was an embarrassing POS. Nice to see the video of this nearly extinct vehicle.
It is amazing how to distinguish cars, and I c someone already commented. The 1972 deck lids should not have vents, 1971 only. This deck lid has been changed !
that does NOT have a dynaflow automatic, they stopped using dynaflow in the early 60's --- This Electra has the TurboHydramatic 400, and excellent 3 speed automatic
Well wait a minute why does it have the louvers in the decklid they were discoutinioud for 1972 as for all full size gm lines people complained the blower motor ran when they didn't want it to the grille is 72. Why would it have a 71 decklid? It looks !Ike it's never even been in a fender bender very nice!
No way this car appraised for $7,254. In showroom condition, which this car is far from, they are not even that much. This car is not in bad shape, for it's age, but this car is no more than $3,000, and that's being very generous.

This has a 1971 trunk lid with the air louvers, 1972 didn't have it, i have one.
+swamprocker1966 Strange, I've owned 3 and theat all had hood vents.
+swamprocker1966 My bad, brother. Thought you meant hood vents.
+niklas2007 ok, no the vents in the trunk lid 71 only
That's not rear heat and air controls. It's a rear window defroster. That's the way they were made back then.
auaiao9 Actually it is a rear window defogger. Defroster is the one with the embedded electrical grids.

+Vernon Small You're wrong. I've owned three 72's. Thaey ALL had hood vents.
+niklas2007 Sorry brother. Thought you meant hood vents. You're right.
Yup !
yup! only certain 1971 gm cars had trunk lid louvers..even the 71 full size wagons had them on the tailgate. no other years did.
Amazing !
how much power does your Electra have? Wish they still made cars like this again today.
