The moment the opening credits began after the opening scene I knew this would be my favorite movie of the year, and it was, is, will forever be one of my favorites. It's so hilariously important to this world. Glad Taika got the adapted screenplay win, and of course Parasite is amazing, but I was still just a little butt hurt he didn't take home best picture.
FOK YEA! Taika has become one of my favorite film makers. Very happy he's getting the recognition & fame he deserves.

Jojo Rabbit is a wonderful film. It may not be for some people, but there's no way you can watch it and think it promotes hatred.

Thank you for making this film, so that children could see it! Taika, would you consider making a coming-of-age story with a female child protagonist. I feel like there's not as many as there are for boys!
I was actually in a screening of Jojo when a group of people walked out (a group of young men). But because of how long they stayed I'm pretty sure they left because they thought from the trailers it'd be a 'Nazi comedy' and what they got was an actual story with beautifully written, real, heartfelt characters. The trailers did focus heavily on Taikas character and I think that made some people nervous and unfortunately made some people excited about what they probably thought would be some kind of hilarious pro-Hitler laugh-a-thon. I loved the film so much and am still asking everyone if they've seen it yet and recommending they do, no one I've encouraged has regretted it yet
he speaks for me i feel! abandoned kid, native, abused by family and kids but i still pushed through and am upful and kind, loving, sensitive and successful. never let others turn me bitter ( jk im pretty fuckin toxic towards assholes but not people in general, i love you until u show me you suck lol )
Matua Taika, you make us so proud here in Aotearoa. Absolutely spot on with how we are as a people. We just don’t promote ourselves like most do coz our actions speak louder than our words ever can, plus we love getting awards but rather not get them in front of everyone and having to do speeches haha 😂 It’s pretty stink how someone still has to make a movie about teaching people how to not be a Nazi. We may be far away from the rest of the world and maybe that’s a good thing. We love anyone and everyone. That’s how we were brought up.

Please pick on American films. Jo Jo Rabbit is a breath of fresh air. The film industry in "AMERICA" is boring. Subject matter ? Jo Jo Rabbit is a masterpiece.

And since the ally forces in the end are american, it's very likely this didn't take place in the east of Germany.

He didn't get the empathy or subtleties of the characters, or the humour; he seemed very black and white. Taika handled his subtle disrespect with admirable graciousness and humility.
