- Hi wolf pack! Coming at you with another video. The drum are biting! This fish was one of the toughest fish I have ever caught it put up a fight that almost took me overboard haha. One I will definitely never forget. Not sure if it was the 10 ft rod or just a really angry old drum.. thanks for watching & I’ll see y’all in the next one!

Wow girl, the fish keep getting bigger and bigger! You're building some fighting muscles for sure. I'd call this a successful summer for both you and Andy. Wish we had some big fish like that up here in the north. Yes we have some strip bass but typically we go from Haddock to Tuna, not a lot in between to catch. 🎣🎣🎣

Great to see you guys again. Great drum plus it was bigger than either one of the two you guys caught on the last video. That beast looked like it would go 45-50 lbs. I live on the West coast so I’ve never had a chance to catch a Red Drum, congratulations on a great catch and fight. I think the rod length is ok if the grip would be closer to the rod butt, and if the rod action is heavy enough, which apparently it is. If line capacity is an issue I would recommend going to braid which with it’s smaller diameter would increase your capacity. As for the concern about the reel being old, I have a Mitchell, I forget which model 306 maybe but it’s 52 years old and still working great. Old is not bad!!🤣🤣🤣

Y'all's channel is awesome and Heidi is spectacular, loI ! I am a native of the Lowcountry of SC, grew up fishing, surfing, and sailing all my life. But I did live for a few years on the OBX in between stints in college and surfed my brains out (yes I did graduate eventually and went on to get an MBA). The entirety of Eastern NC is such a special, special place but particularly that area between Ocracoke and the Northern OBX. Just based on observation of the videos, I'm guessing y'all are on one of the sounds in that general vicinity... such a gorgeous part of the world and so ripe with outdoor activities. My PB redfish off the beach was an approximate 38 - 40 pounder back in 2016 here in SC. When I was growing up we called them channel bass because they fed in the sloughs in the surf. I love catching those big spot tails ! If I live long enough, I hope to retire up there someday (I am 64 already). Keep it real and keep it fun ! Love the content ! Thank you ;-)

Hi again, another comment. Using light tackle for redfish does make it a battle, but rewarding. You can always use a fighting belt that will make it easier on you. In a pinch I have even taken off my shoe and put the butt of the rod in the shoe against my body to make it easier. Great job, Old Chief

Heidi- You should use a shorter rod when you go after the big ones. I'm talking from experience. When I was stationed in AK in the Army, I mainly fished for Salmon & Halibut. With a shorter rod you have more leverage. (Personal Best= Salmon 62#, Halibut 300+#)
