Here's our alternate universe soundtrack to The Great Gatsby - a 1920's remake of Psy's megahit song, "Gentleman." My neighbors were probably a bit confused by this. Try to spot some of Psy's iconic dance moves reinterpreted by flappers.

I'm Korean and I absolutely love this cover. I fell that this cover is not supposed to invoke the feeling of a Korean person singing the song but a non-Korean person singing a fun, foreign song.

To all the people complaining that she's mispronouncing and slurring the words, cut her some slack. She's probably never spoken Korean in her life, much less had to sing in it, up until now. And the vocals are amazing nonetheless.

Never understood those trolls. As a russian person and a teacher I always amaized how much time ppl not native to the language spend their time and nerves to say their first sentence. And every time you want to reward their efforts no matter how "correct" it sounded.

J Strix As an Englishman, we have to let things go all the time.
The reality is; even Americans speak and write at a level a 5 year old child would find laughable.
As long as it is understandable it gets a pass, who cares really, unless it’s for an exam!

Different languages use different muscles in order to pronounce that particular dialect. Please realize that it may actually be impossible to pronounce words of non native languages. One other thing is, in order to match a particular note or sound goal a word will be modified to fit that song over correct grammar or pronunciation of a particular language.

im Korean and I actually like this style better than the original! the Korean lyrics pronunciation needs some work but Korean pronunciation is quite difficult so I just appreciate one of my favorite groups doing this cover of Psy. Love it!

Yeah, amazing!! Especially Hillary Thomson (the girl in Black) who got into the spirit of that music and the dance with such ease and finesse..... She kind of took us back in Time. Robyn's singing style and the arrangement of the music complemented the costumes and the 20's Look. Thanks Scott for a really enjoyable experience. Am looking forward to some more uploads featuring Hillary!!!

Love the song, love the style. Really love the dancers. My heart goes to the dancer wearing the cloche; when I see her, the phrase, "Dance like nobody's watching" springs to mind. She looks like she's having a wonderful time, and damn any onlookers who disapprove. That's such a wonderful, infectious feat; I'm in a wheelchair, and all I want is to get up and dance with her.

Funny you should say, I know of no movies like that but Scott Bradlee did a few early 1900's style covers of 80's-90's era songs for Bioshock Infinite, which itself is set in an alternate 1912.

I just love watching all your videos. Every lively part of the band is interesting and so much fun to watch, and the the dancer even add some nice flair. Each instrument has its own voice not to mention the great vocalist. I cant just watch one video at a time they are soo good on the ear and eyes :)

+Gyumin Hyun im guessing she probably learnt it phonetically from the original, not ideal but short of spending a lot of time with a tutor who is fluent... about the only way you can do it

The instruments and voice so fantastic. And wow the dancing. My grandmother was in her twenties in the Roaring Twenties. She still could do the steps. That was in the sixties.

I love the 1920's music and the costuming! Thomas, I am Cheri Allred. I knew your family in Nashville. I used to babysit Benjamin a lot. Maren was Jake's age, and I think you were about the age of Kristen. You have quite the talents!

1920s Jazz and Swing music combined with other genres to eventually become early 1940s Rock and Roll, which laid the groundwork for 1950s Pop music, which slowly evolved over decades and became adapted into other nations such as South Korea, which influences a K-Pop musician to sing a song that garners a worldwide audience, which picks up the attention of a UA-cam channel to take that song and create a 1920s Jazz/Swing version of it.
That's why I love this video so much - it feels like a complete cross-cultural circle of music.
