This is the type of skateboarding I want to do, I'm 30 years old, started skating about a year ago on and off, Brett always makes art that inspires and is stunning, great job all round
I'm 36 and starting, get it!
Havent given freestyle much attention, been focused on Longboard Dance and Freestyle fits me better and easier on my body due to board flex it softens the blows
@@Connarhea I got my wife into it and we have been doing it since September of 2018. Shes never skated in her life and can do alot of dance moves and some grab tricks. I think it's easy to transition into because board is longer so you have more room to make mistakes but still be on board. Any skating will take time but Longboard seems to be more forgiving. Check out Hans Wouters on UA-cam, lot of instructional videos. Its smooth and doesnt hurt my body, really love the look of skateboarding but it was painful on knees and ankles for me and alot less forgiving when you make a mistake. Only time wev gotten hurt is going fast on hills which we now avoid doing lol.
@@Connarhea - I might be able to help with advice on a few things. I skated from a very young age, up until I was 18 (when I injured myself and subsequently found audio production, which took over my life). I recently hit 40 and just got back on a board, so now I experience skating as a much older person. I dont think I'll ever street skate much anymore, at least not like I used to. The body is much less forgiving now, especially when it slams on concrete! Mini ramps are a blast though man, and I feel are a perfect way for older people to not only have fun, but get a good flow going. From there, you can make a much easier transition to flat ground techniques.

This video makes it feel like the progression in skateboarding has come full circle. I love that there are still people keeping this style of skateboarding alive and still inventing new tricks. Now that I'm in my 30's and my body can't handle street skating like it could when I was 16 this feels like something I could still learn and progress at. Who knew some wheels on a piece of wood could turn into something so beautiful and engrossing.
