@@SageandStoneHomestead it’s going strong, but tomatoes are nowhere near done, I have lots of baby ones 😂 My peppers are tiny too, but we started to heat up 2 weeks ago and really heat up this past week, otherwise has been a really nice summer to be outside, but not great for heat loving stuff. I have tons of strawberries, lettuce, beets, potatoes and flowers, this is the year for flowers! Like I didn’t love them, water them sporadically no compost etc and they are all blooming and happy! Your garden tours do such a great job of highlighting what an excellent gardener you are!! Love seeing all you have growing & I'm more than a little envious of your amazing tomatoes!! Enjoy them!! 😋 God bless!
It's been a great season here so far!! It's the birds. Usually the bugs are really bad by now, there's been a few squash bugs and Japanese beetles but not much beyond that... yet!
Those tomatoes are gorgeous!!! I can only imagine they taste as good as they look!!! Your squash varieties have really turned around for you this year!!! If you weren't busy already, your garden looks to be going into overdrive!!😂 Your archway is simply beautiful!!! It looks like a magical place to escape a hectic day!!! I hope you are feeling better!!!! Take care of yourself and don't over do it!!! Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!🙏
Your garden is amazing! That tomato was a monster! I loved the squash on the trellis. So much fruit! Your Black Eyed Peas look great! So tall! I'll try to get caught up on your vids. Great garden Heather!!!
Hi Heather, could you please give us the names of the tomato varieties you grew in 2022 and the varieties currently growing in your 2023 garden? Your garden and greenhouse are lovely and plants are so lush and healthy. Thank you for sharing.
Last year I grew Heatmaster Tomatoes in the greenhouse and Belgian Giant in the raised bed garden. This year I'm growing Belgian Giant and Brandywine in the raised bed garden as well as Black beauty, Thornburns TerraCotta, and a few plum and cherry tomato types: Black Strawberry tomato, Tigerella, SuperSweet 100, Blue Cream Berries and Yellow Currant Tomatoes ♥
Wonderful garden tour . You have a phenomenal memory for the names. On many tours people will say something like this is one of our squash but Im not sure wat one I planted here. Even what you initially thought was round zucchini (I bought that) you then corrected yourself. Also love that you do experiment with different types.
Thank you!! There are a few tomatoes that I can't recall, but I'm 99% sure after sitting on it for a while that the orange tomato is Thornburns Terra Cotta.
WOW congratulations. You have done so well with your garden. I am going to start mine by the end of August. I bought a 5 tier stacker for the Strawberries. I have been buying a few thing each fortnight. I get the inspiration from you. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
You do know that you can eat the black eyed peas green shelled out and they are delicious? I pick my purple hull peas when they have a tinge of purple and the peas inside are plump.
Heather, you could whip up a few yarn supports... with some old yarn, just make a few single knit strands and tie the bottom together, about 6 strands, then put the fruit into the center and tie the tops together and tie to the trellis... you know, kinda like a "plant hanger" "macrame "... it'd be cheap, especially if you use some old thrifted yard .. just a thought... it'd probably be cheaper than pantyhose too .🤷♀️👍 your garden is amazing ❤❤❤ TFS, Lori
Beautiful garden tour Heather! So many wonderful fruits and veggies, so happy that it's turning out so well. Those tomatoes are indeed monsters! Hahaha. Can't wait to see how all the various melons turn out, those are some of my favorite kinds of fruits. The archway with the rocking chair would be a haven for me too, love it and glad you're getting to enjoy it some.
Your garden is doing wonderful!!! Just a thought for you melons, I cut up a old tshirt and made slings for our melons/squash last year. It worked well. Just was cheaper and what i had on hand. Happy gardening!!!
UA-cam recommended your channel to me, and I'm not disappointed that I stopped by and watched your tour. Your Melon and Squash lane is a thing of beauty! Also, that Batwing Pumpkin is so cute! I'm growing a bush Winter Squash for the second year running called Golden Nugget that produces mini 'pumpkins' that would make a wonderful contrast in a display with those. Great eating too!
@@SageandStoneHomestead I'm gonna go with probably both . There have been insane amounts of pill bugs and well, we both know how weird the weather in Ky has been lol.
Loved your video! Your vegetable tomato and pepper plants ate so lush and healthy. I'm in zone 10/south florida and my tomatoes have done very poorly. Maybe the intense heat and heavy rains. I'm not giving up though. I've been growing in large fabric pots, but I think I'll plant the next plants in the ground. Thanks for sharing all of the details about what you're growing!
Out of all the UA-cam garden tours I’ve seen, yours is the most lush, healthy, and productive I’ve seen to date!! I’m in Missouri, and when I try to grow an heirloom like my favorite Brandywine, I lose it to disease so early, and may get two tomatoes off of one plant. So I’ve switched to hybrids 😢. I didn’t see a hint of disease anywhere in your garden, and everything you grow is so big and healthy! We make our own compost, but until this year have had no animal manure to add to it (we now have 5 chickens!). I heard you mention manure, so guessing that’s the secret !!! Once again, well done, Heather!!
Thank you so much! There definitely is disease I just cut diseased leaves off the plants a couple times a week to try to prolong their lives! The disease is about due to take over anyway though, it probably won't be so lush for long!! ❤️
Your gardens, and especially the lane, look amazing! Thank you so very much for sharing this video! When you get only small harvests at a time of the beans, I'm sure you can add them into suppers, but a friend of mine also said fresh green beans can be put on a baking sheet and baked with a sprinkle of salt and pepper (or even Tajin seasoning) just enough to keep the crunch and makes a great healthy snack. So exciting to see all those fruits and veggies! 😁
Everything looks so beautiful!!!! Make sure to save you sunflower stalks too. The inside can be dug out, dehydrated and made into sunflower flour. Happy gardening
@@SageandStoneHomestead we let the heads get ready then pick them. Then wait about 4 days pull up stalks and cut in 12” lengths. Split in half and dig out white goodie!!!! Place in dehydrator or freeze dry. After done powder up and store on shelf. I have some that is 2 years old and still good. I always add about a tablespoon of flour to 1 cup sunflower flour. Makes great for fried foods or add to meatloaf. Yum yum
Hi Heather. Two things I wanted to say, #1 I am glad that you are doing better. #2 I am also glad your garden is doing great this year. Keep up the great work.
So jealous of those monster tomatoes! They are about impossible to grow here in the desert, we are too hot and dry. The first flower clusters will set but not after that because the pollen dies before it can fertilize the flower.
@@SageandStoneHomestead It has been insanely hot especially this year! We have not had all time record breakers but breaking records for this or that date AND Phoenix recorded the highest overnight LOW temp this week in history; Like 97 degrees overnight. Here at my place (90 miles east of Phx and 3300 ft elevation) it was 90 degrees at 5;30 this morning... This has been miserable and unrelenting, this is usually our monsoon season and even if we don't get a lot of rain we will have some cloud cover but not happening right now

The spaghetti squash looks great! Where did you get the seeds for the white scalloped squash (is it also called Patty-Pan?)?
I got them from seeds n such!
Yup. It is also called Patty pan.
Did you have to train your vines or did the grow up the trellis on their own?
Most of the vines I only trained in the beginning but the melons and cukes I have to re-wrap every so often!
