I love love to eat sun warmed tomatoes right off the vine !! And I love eating tomatoe sandwiches with hellmens mayonnaise and alittle salt and pepper my mouth is watering for one now !! Lol..🍅🍞🧂yummy but I ate my last store bought tomatoes 2 days ago I need to buy more. Since I been living in the car I buy the vine ripe from the store and I put them on the dash and the get sun most of the day so I cheat and the ripen and get warmed by the sun from the car but as soon as I find a better place to live I will have a small garden next year and with all the knowledge I have gotten this year and last year from Heather I am sure I will have a good growing garden thank you Heather !!
@SageandStoneHomestead I love your channel and once I stumbled upon it I've been hooked...lol I watch alot of the older stuff too and I tear up with you when you have those had days being a Homestead but girl I got to say you are one hard working woman, mama, farmer and of course a wife. 🩷🩷
Oh my goodness Heather. That is a big harvest again. Busy, Busy. I am so happy for you. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Whenever I cut my sweetcorn stalks I throw them to my goats. They LOVE it!! I do space it out some, giving them 1 good armload per day. I'm canning peaches also!! Aren't we being blessed with abundance!! God bless to you & your homestead!
I once made a trellis like yours with scraps of fencing and concrete reinforcing mesh. Covered in cucumbers and melons the middle collapsed. I propped it up with some 2x4s but still had to crawl on my hands and knees to get under it to get some of the fruits. In working with cattle panel arches over the years I"ve discovered you do need some support every 2-3 panels. I built a chicken house out of them that is 6 panels long, fastened to 2x8" bottom boards instead of T posts. Each end is framed up with scrap 2x4 and pallet wood with a door and there are 2 dividing walls inside making it so I can make it into three compartments for breeding season or leave the inside doors open to make one big pen. On your trellis you might just frame up each end and then a support in the middle. Your gardens look amazing. Mine, well, not so much. Everything here is struggling. The last measurable rain I had was March 24. We are hovering at about 105-110 every day. Even the weed tree Alianthus are dying back
How exciting!!! I recognize that voice!!!😂 Your garden haul looks amazing!!! Those tomatoes look delicious!!! My favorite tomatoes are also the more "meaty" varieties, the flavor and texture just can't be beat!!! Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!!
We sometimes buy the snacking peppers from our Aldi here in the UK to stuff, so I saved the seeds from each colour to see if they'd grow, not knowing if they were F1s, or Heirlooms. They did though, so I was able to save seed from those too. Sometimes it's worth experimenting, like with your Melon 😁
Amazing as always! I traded eggs for Bartlet pears..making pear butter as I watch! I have a volunteer pumpkin that I've been feeding to my chickens..they look funny, must of crossed with another.
We grew eggplant when I was growing up, and though I don't remember the variety (except it was from Burpee seeds), my mother used to tell me an eggplant is ripe as soon as it loses some of the glossiness, regardless of size. What a lovely garden tour, thank you! Absolutely delighted to see the mystery plants making something edible and the darling flowers all over. It's my goal to get some borage growing here - for some reason, borage and dill have been uncooperative for me to grow. I know once I get them going, I might want help to get it to stop growing... But both are lovely, so... 🤣
As far as I understand, squash fall into three different families cucurbita pepo, cucurbita maxima, cucurbita moschata and if the are in the same group they can cross. I’ve just found your channel and really enjoying it. I’m watch from New Zealand. 😊
It looks like I have to pay to be a member. So sad I can’t be a member. I pray that you will still have good videos for the ones that can’t afford the membership.
You have me so curious about the armpit melons lol. Any possibility of you selling seeds for them when you get them to a stable point? Asking for myself LOL.
Ronde de Nice, Kamo Kamo, or Mongogu de Guatamala type? At first when I saw the leaves, I was thinking Zucchini Grey, but then I saw the squash. So, I think you could have some cross pollination, not so pure seed.
Where do you recommend online to buy seeds? We bought off Amazon and got a horrible yield this year. No cucumbers at all. And I do want to try more of a variety of a few things next year.
OH NO. We are affiliates with Sow Right Seeds and have loved their quality and the plants are exactly as they are labeled and gorgeous. We have a coupon Code with them SageStone10 to get 10% off, there is a link in the description of the video or you could Google it! We also buy from Baker Creek Heriloom seeds and Seeds N such and Botanical Interests.
By the color it looks like it would be Mexican squash but not the size… so maybe it’s a mixture of two of them like a spaghetti squash with a Mexican squash
Looks like round zucchini….. I have 2 round zucchini plants and they look exactly like that. I have had a few that was yellowish color so I’m thinking it may be a pollinating issue or water issue…..but I’m not sure this is my 2 nd year growing vegetables and my 1 st time growing zucchini 😊

Supposedly there were some big mix ups at the seed suppliers. A good number of people got some crazy things verses what they bought!
Man!! Add me to the list, lol!!!
That was Derek’s voice I heard at the end! So exciting, can’t wait to see what/who he’s bringing 😍

GREAT plan I'll totally do that with the sweet corn stalks!!

Hi et bonne journée
Hello There! ♥
They are looking good. Nice work
Amazing as always!
I traded eggs for Bartlet pears..making pear butter as I watch! I have a volunteer pumpkin that I've been feeding to my chickens..they look funny, must of crossed with another.
What a great trade!! We have some pear trees and I'm SO EXCITED for those harvests, a couple years yet!!
The spaghetti squash can cross with zucchini. If you saved seeds, it might have crossed, like the melons. I think that they are both "pepo".
And squash crosses CAN be toxic right? I bought these seeds from Seeds N Such. I hear toxic crosses are bitter to eat.
Nice video
Thank you!
Yucky spots on tomatoes look like stink bug damage. Beautiful tomatoes.
Interesting!! There's pinkish powdery stuff that looks either bacterial or fungal
That's an 8 ball zucchini! You usually pick those around the size of a baseball 😊
That's so funny because those fruit look so different compared to the all green round zucchini I planted!!
Borage I can get to come back, Dill has been harder for me!!
As far as I understand, squash fall into three different families cucurbita pepo, cucurbita maxima, cucurbita moschata and if the are in the same group they can cross. I’ve just found your channel and really enjoying it. I’m watch from New Zealand. 😊
That has to be a cross right? It's so funny looking! Thanks for watching!
Yeah I’ve had spaghetti squash crosses that have looked similar. Do you have an Instagram account I couldn’t find you?
It looks like I have to pay to be a member. So sad I can’t be a member. I pray that you will still have good videos for the ones that can’t afford the membership.
Yes totally! Nothing will change here on the channel ♥
I'm with you financially.... 😕 But we'll still have our dose of Heather several times a week!! 🙂
Maybe it's a Zumpkin? 😅😂
LOL that's what a lot of people think but you've clearly got the best name for it! 🏆
Your trellis looks like it went through a modern art filter 😂
It does!!!
You have me so curious about the armpit melons lol. Any possibility of you selling seeds for them when you get them to a stable point? Asking for myself LOL.
Yes!! I'll sell them unstable if people want to take a bit of a risk, I think it's 6 generations for stability? I need to really look into it!
@@SageandStoneHomestead I would gladly take some to try out in the Spring! At my own risk of course.
They look like bush Reno squash . A lot like pepper squash.
I Google that and the squash in the greenhouse aren't ribbed but their coloring makes them look that way for sure!
Ronde de Nice, Kamo Kamo, or Mongogu de Guatamala type? At first when I saw the leaves, I was thinking Zucchini Grey, but then I saw the squash. So, I think you could have some cross pollination, not so pure seed.
Yes the leaves are very zucchini looking!!!
You can cure them off the vine you know
Yes for sure! I was reading that as long as the stem is green there is still nutrition transfer going on so I'll leave them just a tad longer! ❤️
Hi, where did you get the seeds for the belgium giant tomatoes? Are they the pink variety? Thanks!
Yes they are and I got my initial seeds from MI Gardener and I've been saving them back for a few years since they are heirloom!
Where do you recommend online to buy seeds? We bought off Amazon and got a horrible yield this year. No cucumbers at all. And I do want to try more of a variety of a few things next year.

MIgardener , baker seeds . Botanical interests garden . Freedom farmers USA
How are you going to preserve all those melons? Freeze drying?
Yes that's the plan!!
By the color it looks like it would be Mexican squash but not the size… so maybe it’s a mixture of two of them like a spaghetti squash with a Mexican squash
I'm not familiar with that variety, I'll look it up!!!
Looks like a round zucchini
Sorta but also not! It's bizarre! ♥
Very interesting!! Thank you!!
Are they getting cross pollinated? Mine did and they were pretty interesting 😂
The squash? possibly but these were seeds bought in this year!
How can you tell when a honeydew melon is ready?
The slight changes in color of the rind. Plus they will smell like a melon and not like a cucumber! ❤️
@@SageandStoneHomestead Thank you.
