A fantastic side to radio controlled modelling that I had not seen before! These 65" mono and catamaran hulls are propelled through the water with 30cc engines. Full throttle is rarely used. The drivers have to navigate the peaks and troughs of the water, stay clear of other boats and make as many laps in the 20 minute racing time.

Great camera work and video! Offshore has always been my favorite class to race, so it's great to see some of the bigger hulls in the rough stuff! Our offshore courses are mostly about speed. I am 3 blocks from the ocean but we don't have any of that salt-water racing here .... rules, rules, rules. Good on ya blokes.

How long on average do those types of boats last at speed before they need to refuel?
All the races I saw were 20 minutes and no re-fuelling. They have endurance races of 45 minutes apparently. The fuel tanks looked big. Do not know if they would need to refuel for that. Would only add to the excitement if they did though! Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Where are the RC chase helis?
the only music i want to hear is the sound of the boats engines. love model power boats both electric and ic. if you're ever up in Yorkshire go visit the Bridlington model boat club for some national races.
I don't use music that often Peter. Mostly if I go to an event and put together a compilation to give the feel for it. Other vids from this event will be published soon...no music I promise. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

They were not kidding about the 4k 60fps being hard on some PC's to display....
It can be. Click it back on notch on the resolution displayed in the UA-cam player and it'll still be much better than HD. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
