Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I really like this figure, I've gotten use to the smaller body but I wish he came with an unmasked head cause that Peter design in the animated series has always stuck with me for some reason.
How the eyes are drawn in TAS has always been my fav look

Spider-Man TAS - I love this series. GOAT in my opinion. And the figure is very well made and close to the cartoon.
My town's Walmart usually does a shitty job with Marvel Legends. They have so much Black Panther stuff that nobody's buying and the Xmen wave is on clearance, but I nearly had a stroke last night when I saw this guy was the only one, sitting by himself, waiting for me.

You got admit the cell shading is pretty close to TAS Spidey and when you see the light blue color of the suit it matches perfectly

For anyone who's thinking about removing the cell-shading, only remove the ones on the leg. Don't try to do the arms and torso unless you're ready to repaint, since the arms and legs are molded in red.
This is the Amazing Fantasy buck where Spider-Man is a 15-year-old. He is college age in the Animated Series.
Idrk why people don’t like the articulation segments. That’s always been my favorite part of his videos, even if I’ve seen the body mold before
I usually dont like cell shaded figures much, but I have to say, on this Spidey, it doesnt look too bad. Yes, there is some inconsistency in the "lighting", but that's also in vanilla pose... I actually think that the cell shading would be way more consistent, if he was in a crouchy, twisted Spidey pose... and perhaps that's what they meant to do? ...I may be giving hasbro too much credit, but again, I DO see how the shading COULD totally work. I agree that they used the wrong buck. The "renew your vows" Spidey, would have definitely been more accurate. ...do keep in mind, I dont own the figure and these opinions are only based on watching a couple review videos. Overall, it doesnt seem too bad, considering. Sik
I don't think Cell shading looks bad on this camera or that Cyclops. Maybe it's the blue and How dark it is and blends in?
My only issue with this is that I would've preferred if he was slightly more bulky, because in the animated series, he wasn't exactly skinny, like he wasn't Venom sized, but he was bigger than the average Spider man. But other than that this figure is perfect in my opinion.

I love this light blue attire but I agree with you on the body choice. The should have used the other body mold instead.
This is my fav Spider-Man legends of 2022. I was trying to get 3 of them that day but couldn’t get any then got lucky days later so I had gotten mines back in December. The only other Spider-Man figure I bought last year was the mafex one but I love the animated series so I def had to get this figure. I just opened mines a few days ago and can’t put it down lol
Yes sir....I ordered mine off eBay and should receive him within the week. I just got tired of Walmart not having him in stock. For me, he'll make a "spectacular" addition to my Spiderverse shelf.

The headswap with the retro Spidey head onto the Walmart exclusive: BINGO! As close to a proper iconic John Romita Sr. 70's-80's Spider-Man as I've seen, yet, with the lighter blue paint. (You know, the one that was used on basically ALL THE MERCHANDISING, and became the iconic version known all over the world, that us 70's-80's kids grew up with...) If I can get that cell shading off mine, even better, but if this is as close as we get, I can be happy with it. (Still can't believe we got Japanese Spider-Man BEFORE a Romita Sr.! Especially during the 60th anniversary...)
Toe articulation use the first appearance head sculpt and take out the cell shading, this will be the greates Spider-Man ML of all time
Feel like the best 90's Animated Spidey figure you can pull together right now would be this head on the Amazing Friends 3-Pack Spidey. But I'm sticking with Renew your vows - not spending $100 pre scalper on a figure, much as I love the show.
The vintage Ben Reilly Spider-Man head goes well with the body
I love mines. However I do agree that they should’ve used the renew your vows body mold for this one. However it’s still a great figure and just happy I was able to get him. Not my top Spider-Man ML figure but definitely top 3 for sure. Retro card spidey, renew your vows followed by this one. Another great video prime!

I want an update of the Raft box-set Spider-Man figure on a newer body. Bright blue and smaller eyes work for a classic Spidey, but I want darker blue and big McFarlane style eyes. Like the 1990 #1 cover.

I'm still going to wait for Hasbro to re-do a ML Todd McFarlane designi Spider-Man figure cuz technically we've got him in the SDCC 2016 box set (I think) but that figure is waaay to expensive to get it nowadays.
I do gotta say. I think this one and the renew your vows are tied! I do think renew your vows has the best articulation but I do think this animated spidey has the ultimate head sculpt, and colour choices for the red and blue are amazing! I personally think the amazing friends spidey with the animated head is the ultimate Spider-Man figure! Just needs that toe articulation

Shart, do you like living in an area void of Walmarts, or would would you rather have one? I'm not a huge fan of the store but with constant exclusives and inflation going crazy bonkers, I'm happy to have one in my town. I guess it's a necessary evil.

8:12 In my opinion, for the sculpt, I would like to see, The renew your vows head on a bigger body of the amazing fantasy spider man with the legs of the cyborg spidy (yes I know that one isn't a cyborg, but I can't remember the actual names.) with the shoulders of falcon, and the arms of the renew your vows spidey.
As for articulation, the torso articulation needs to be modified with the waist being another ball joint instead of another abcrunch. lastly, we need to ditch the drop-down hips they are a pain to pose with.
I got the same figures from the 90's cartoon and i have to say they both rock and yes it was a lot harder to get Spider-man than Venom. I totally agree with you about the shading on Spider-man keep up the great figure reviews peice!!
We need that body mold with the ryv feet and the classic light blue and red colors and that will be the perfect spidey
If hasbro is focusing on TAS spiderman figs this year we need a kraven, chameleon, Smythe, blade, the spot, and big man spider from the show
This mold works best because it scales better with retro venom
I really enjoy the head, but I always thought his red was more pinkish and the blue was darker. It's kind of a specific critique, but it matters a little to me lol.

I found mine about 3 weeks ago in a random toy isle in wallmart but It obviously was never listed on the website as in store , believe me I checked , so you might just get lucky going inside , found my lizard the same way
I like him, had fun shooting him but it didn't hit the nostalgia factor as much as the AF Spidey but as I have the Pulsecon Venom, this guy was a must to go with him.
Wish we could get a marvel legends Todd McFarlane Spider-Man with a body mold like the one in Todd’s storyline. Or a 2 pack with both Todd McFarlanes Spider-Man and lizard from issues # 1-5

I don't mind the body, it's the availability that bothers me. I got to preorder 2, but 1 arrived with sloppy paints, I wish I could find more in stores and get to choose 1 with nice paint apps to keep one in the box and display 1 loose.
I prefer the retro card body, so I would like to get one just for the headsculpt, but I can't find it anywhere. Ay, why did they make this a Wal-Mart exclusive! I wouldn't mind having some of the animated figures without cel-shading though; the only one I thought was necessary was Venom; not the biggest fan of Hasbro's technique for it. I would replace the cel-shading with what they did with the "Red Hulk" Spidey figure, a more gradient-like type of shading. I use that Spider-man and the "Urban Legends" Daredevil for my animated display. It kind of reminds me of the "Venom Saga" DVD cover where the Venom half was shaded with midnight blue.
Yoiur improvements on the figure would definitely be improvements.
I haven’t removed the cel shading from mine even though I’ve done it with every other fig that has it. I keep it so that it’s obvious when you look at my spider-verse display that it’s supposed to be Peter from the animated series instead of the comics. But that’s just me🤷

See, I disagree, I think they should have given him the arms to port the webwings in because that would have made this my default Spider-Man. The color of blue is perfect and is what every Spidey should come with going forward.

Great review bro! I like the head sculpt and the color of the main blue, but otherwise I it's meeeeh, I mean it's great but I can't find it and don't have the money for it anyways. I love the 3 pack version and the FA version the best though right now, then followed by the RYV Spidey. But other than that 6 armed Spidey and this animated version I don't think we have seen that shade of blue which is what most of us want right. Like the snapshot Spidey, one of my favorite oldies, it has that blue and yeah I hope we get that blue on a non cell shaded animated spidey.
they really did nail the headsculpt, but then its all kinda meh as you go down the figure from there. Im def happy with the figure tho!

Hmmmm? Retro Spidey with the animated head looks good. Articulated toes should have been on it. To me I think back to the super posable figure that came out in this line originally. I bet they give it another go in the two packs they are doing this year. My favorite of 2022 is the Amazing Fantasy Spidey with RYV feet. To me 60th anniversary means I want a killer Amazing Fantasy 15 Spidey. I think the figure even with the web wings or holes is pretty awesome. I have all the others too. I just enjoy that the most. Lately I’ve been getting an itch to buy more of the 90s animated line on card. You know the ones I had already. Oh well. I hope Hasbro makes an animated Aunt May, Peter, MJ, and Felicia.

I got mine a couple of months ago, ordered from an overseas seller. They're not that rare, Hasbro and Walmart are both just terrible at distributing, especially in the U.S.

I didn't want to buy another spidey but maaaaan his look. Bright red and blue is outstanding. The head taken right from the cartoon I LOVE it. This is my TAS spider-man. I'm glad they used this body because I gotta say RyV/Retro spidey bodymolds are so frustrating becase how loose are the legs because of drop down hips. Man. And only one thing I don't like in this spidey is definelty shading it's just bad, looks weird, wolverine shading is much better. And I'm sad to say I think the new symbiote spidey from VHS 2pack will have same bad shading. My favorite spidey is definetly still RyV because the head, big symbole, toe articulation, pete head, and I like this different darker blue suit. This Still will be my Perfect Spider-man. But man I'm so afraid what hasbro gonna do next. I have enough of spideys and I don't want to be forced to buy another one 🤦♂

They didnt fill the holes in the arms, they just swapped them with the renew your vows spider-man arms.
It makes his arms too big and out of proportion. Plus they have way worse range of articulation, just a weird decision all around.
How do you get it in Europe? Where Walmart doesn't exist?
