mostly the people on the discord noting that the accelerator needed some kind of buff to his overcharge or charge time (which he did)

It's 100 dps and the bomb radius was cut in half. And it's even more expensive
Also the dps on old ace pilot was 128 which is 28% better than new ace pilot...that much dps was for a single abillity that doesn't matter that much when you get alot of them

I think you guys forgot to realize that ace pilot is an intermediate tower. It's NOT supposed to be that good. Nerfing its late game usage was a good thing. I'm just glad the hidden detection isn't removed, since that would change a LOT of metas and ruin grind strats.

Its incredible that Corso (and maybe some other people) consider Ranger better than Accel even though the former got slightly nerfed in the same update (probably thats why, but if the stats of TDS Experimental were directly implemented on Ranger, it would most likely be considered worse)
the changes of tds experimental were directly implemented, down to the 1050 damage 150 splash (and if not, the difference was very minor)
ranger is still better than accel nonetheless

Ranger is still better sure accel maybe better in mid game however accel’s max level is the same so no late game change and ranger’s nerf was pretty minimal so realistically Ranger is better overall and more reliable late game wise
@@slendy2504 it wasnt quite nerfed it did 97 dps in tds experimental but in main game it does 92 there isnt that much of a reason to put that stat

I don't know if I like this change for the accelerator. It had a unique role as a burst tower where it could chunk down enemies in short spurts, but it seems like they are leaning away in favor of consistency. I'm fine with buffing it, but I would prefer if the late game towers differed more in terms of play styles.

Sadly because of the firerate bug that has existed for a REALLY long time, the actual dps in on max level is 284.81 cuz the bug makes the firerate 0.08 seconds higher than what it actually says

The +2 range buff could possibly make a great difference in the gameplay
You are definitely sleeping on the range increase, while its only a 10% increase in range, it is a 20% increase in area covered, going from 1256 units² to 1520 units².
Engi sentries have the same range and cant be buffed, but accel can be buffed, so now accel has better map coverage than engi.

@@josardoleon6894 im not saying engi is better but a 4500 gems tower obviously gonna be different then a 2500. Accel needs the best conditions to perform well but engi just alone depends on its own(mostly), so i think if we are doing harder gamemodes, engi is actually the better option depsite accel has a better map cover(in my opinion).
@@josardoleon6894 i think accel needs like a shield that generates by itself so it wont get stunned that often which can help accel deals more dmg( he uses electronic stuff so getting an electro shield is pretty reasonable)

Even with the increased overcharged he's still really vulnerable to any stun. Tho the extra range they gave him with the lower charge cooldown makes it really reliable as the video said.
Is a great tower but still gets slightly outclassed by one flaw.
Wait for the medic rework which makes Accel very reliable.

I think Accelerator's Lock-On mechanic also changed because when I was testing it out, after his burst ended with the Slow Boss he targeted the Hidden Boss in front so that's also a pretty good buff.

I think the buff did well for it, although in terms of a tower, I think they should have actually taken it the other way. Accel is meant to be extremely high dps short burst, and one of the costs with that is enemies slipping by. They should have increased its dps instead to make it more unique as a tower and less like a gold mini - maybe by making it closer to 400 dps but with a shorter burst. Just my opinion though. I am glad they are doing these changes in the first place
Hi Corso 👋 Can you rerank the early game towers since there are many new towers in the game and towers getting reworked / rebalanced?
The biggest problem with the accel was the 5 seconds wasted if it got stunned and you use medic. Since they made it do less dps (assuming it doesnt have cooldown) it will be worse for like hardcore when there is stun after stun
the biggest issue is the lack of stun resistance, without it, he was always hard to use and always needed supports or other dps units to support his back. It was never about its stats.

Finally, a bit worth but still stick to engi lol. We remember old accel where even it only deals 25 damage but with 0.05 tick is better than rn with 40 damage and 0.1 tick (imagine if DJ buff had existed). Sadly it has to go, perhaps with the bugs and animation changes cuz the old one doesn't really deal 25 per tick but shreds with the same amount of dps value it had (compare it with TDS modded version).
Ig getting nowadays accel to max is the priority rather than spamming lvl 3s? cuz the duration it shoots gives more value and the commander boost still affects the ammo so i don't think it shoots fully 12 seconds when with com as well

i got the buff early by using a glitch it has something to do with revive tickets because when i used a revive ticket with my friend i saw the placement cost of accel be 5000 instead of 4250
If there was anything that truely needs a buff it's Ranger and Engineer and countless more. Ranger and Ace Pilot did not deserve nerfs AT ALL.
What devious game mode does the devs plan to make after buffing every unit in the game?
hard ass game mode is all I know.

It still fails to address one thing:
LACK OF STUN IMMUNITY.
Why are ranger, engineer, & gatling gun the meta? STUN IMMUNITY. It doesn’t even have to be entire stun immunity, PARTIAL WORKS, and with how fallen mode is designed, ANY stun immunity is basically REQUIRED for a tower to be viable to use.
Here’s 2 Ideas that are simple to implement, but will give accelerator enough stun immunity.
1. When it’s charging up & cooling down, it can’t be stunned, but it can be stunned when attacking.
2. Accelerator now has a shield that breaks after 2 stuns, so it takes 3 stuns to stun. So the fallen king can definitely stun it, but regular enemies will need to do a lot more to stun accelerator.
This is where the medic comes in, but her only use is late game.
@@AnimanDude-hk8kt medic doesn't help accelerator a lot because the mere fact of a stun is enough to be a detriment. even if it's 1 frame, accel still needs to charge before shooting, making it that much more vulnerable to stun-spammy gamemodes like polluted wastelands 2 and pizza party
if ONLYY we had a tower that was CHEAP and 100% based off of REMOVING STUN from TOWERS like accelerator… if only…

A) Use accelerator & medic, wasting a tower slot.
B). Use engineer even though I know full well it has less DPS, but I can then bring another DPS tower.
The answer is obvious.
You really have a skill issue if you think that ranger is better than accel just because one of the reasons it's good is stun immunity, the game is already easy enough as it is.
I actually think it was great before, i think this buff was needed. To me, Accelerator is suppose to be the ultimate dps, so buffing it makes since as Ranger and especially Gatling has outtook it.
Well, this tower is good now i guess, the increase makes sense due to the dps, i consider it too A tier, it cost 1k more but thats ok

Finally, after seeing how he was overthroned by turret, ranger, engi and gatling, he is finally getting better than turret
I did some maths calculating accel's dps boosted by max commander amx dj with the red track and max mercinary base, it ended up with 516 dps
First, commander 50% buff doesnt make accel tick from 0.108 to 0.058, the real tick after buff is 0.0758 (you can read commander STRATEGY on wiki for info)
And for the formular, it is only 457 dps maximum

Last time I played this game properly accelerator was best in the game and the only other gem tower was engineer which was recently added.

I feel like accelerator should have the highest dps in the game, but actually accelerates the enemies. Not by a lot, but enough that you might need something like freezer or toxic gunner to cancel it out. Also, doesn’t speed up major bosses, just like how you can’t use slowing towers against them.

@@TankFromThe5560 Engi would still be better, accel would just have higher dps. If it speeds up enemies then it could be balanced to around the same. And engi should be better for mid and early game, not late game. It was originally meant for mid game, but then the whole “power creep” thing happened.
