I just realized since none of these characters actually have names, GS saying “we’re not on a name basis yet” actually makes sense.
In goblin Slayer no one has names which is very weird.

I figured they didn't have names because most adventurers die early and it makes people mourn less over their eventual deaths (which is how some other anime reasoned about their characters never mentioning their names, but I forgot which one), but that works too

I'm certain he'd love this place...
I'm surprised at how much it stayed true to the original series. You remember all that stuff mentioned about titan storm, like how the Munk trained with her father and how the witch was a top graduate and had a staff given to her as a graduation gift. well, all that is canon information in the goblin slayer universe. However, that information was only revealed in the manga and the show left all that stuff out, presumably to save time. I'm surprised that this show actually knew all this stuff and added it into itself to give the characters more depth.
This is a high quality abridged. You can see it on the fact that the voice actors microphones are studio level and they have quality editing like that little logo for titan storm.

Only recently noticed the captions are funny, such as how the fighting sounds are captioned during the swordman going down.
Best part about abridging Goblin Slayer is that you can give Mr GS any whacko personality and lines cos there isn't any lip movement or facial expression to have to manage.

@@Toneill029 that's not 100% true. If you're good at it people notice because most people half ass it. Healers, support and tanks that are good and don't need to be reminded are very much in demand.
But finding competent people across the board is hard due to the Damage Dealer role as most don't understand that managing hate or enmity or whatever term is being used is the whole party's responsibility.

I honestly thought the Goblins in this series just hacked the Fighter to death like the Warrior, totally skipping the most infamous scene of the pilot. I'm surprised the Fighter lived and that scene was sort-of addressed.

So they basically copied the dragon ball z abridged slug movie by teamfourstar
A DM starts a session with 4 new players and one veteran who will be there after work. The DM tries telling the new players what to do, but the fighter keeps interrupting them. So the DM decides to just give them a practice fight against the goblins, not expecting everyone to roll so low. Then the veteran shows up, getting the gist of the situation and shows up in character. He saves the cleric and the other three are pissed because the DM killed their characters. OOC, the veteran screams at them, telling them it’s their own damn fault for not listening to the DM. After killing the goblins, the DM decides that one of the survived just to take pity on them. But the player didn’t want to play as a monk who got...”man-handled” by goblins, so they retired it early. After the session, the veteran helped the players make new characters while teaching them some basic combat. They all made a dwarf, an elf, and a Dragonborn. And came back next session.
And they all made many higher roles after that
The veteran didn't scream at them! He's gotta save that shit for his roleplaying.
Honestly the vibe i get from this, is that a DND party went and got themselves TPK'd by goblins, and the fighter developed a grudge and made a backup character on the spot, followed shortly after by the others.
I kind of always thought of it more as the party got TPK'd, the DM didn't know how to salvage the session and suddenly another player showed up with a character from another Campaign the DM had run. The DM decided "Well somebody's gotta save these poor bastards." and let him play that character. At least that's the premise I would go for if I was turning this series into a Campaign comic.
@@phillipribbink6903 I think that's pretty much what happened. In the manga there's a lot of references to the gods playing a game using mortals as the pieces and when everyone almost dies they directly reference dice being rolled for GS to get back up

@@lord_wyran I love the comedy of that situation, but at the same time I don't think somebody who played a character as experienced at killing Goblins as Goblin Slayer's player clearly is. Would have gotten killed as easily as the Fighter did. Then again, a Natural 1 has been known to tank whole campaigns, even with experienced players.

Bunch of 1st level PCs decide to just run into a goblin lair,it's almost a TPK but the DM likes the cleric because she at least considered turning back and she started roleplaying in middle of the dungeon while everyone else was just being a dumbass so during the break he texted his friend,Dave to come join his table with his 8th level fighter so the DM could save at least one PC.
This is now the canon in my head.
if I had a DM introduce content like this, balanced like this, I'd leave the table.

@@newtextdocument I think it's mostly based in Pathfinder. I don't have much experience with D&D but I know that Pathfinder enables you to multiclass just like Goblin Slayer (he is scout, ranger and something else).

some dood its a cave they also could have looked for multiple entrances and if none were found start a fire at the entrance then block off the entrance to take all the oxygen out of the cave or at the very least fill it with smoke to make them easier to sneak up on.

I have watched this series a few times now and i have to admit that i can feel that scream in my bones. You can feel the pure pain and suffering in that scream. The VA did amazing with that scream.
