yo, that flickering red lighting is annoying and that rgb setup is so wack and played out. if you were a teenager id understand but I cant take you seriously with those fans there.
I love the 45mm field of view for some reason. I have 35mm and 50mm but somehow I love the sigma 30mm on apsc sony a6000 which is 30mm x 1,5 = 45mm

I went for the Sony; it drops to less than half the price of the Samyang when its for sale on Amazon; I got mine for 129 new. That's in the UK, but a UK pound is equivalent to a US dollar when it comes to retail prices, once taxes are factored in.
Wonder why there's not many 50 1.4-1.8 that are weather sealed and budget friendly anymore... Back in the day I used the Nikon D700 with a 50 1.4G all the time. Recently got a Sony A7iii and anything even remotely close is so expensive... :|

Nice comparison. If you do the Zeiss/Samyang comparison, can you mention differences you see in real world use pertaining to focal length? How much difference does the focal length make in terms of bokeh and unflattering distortion in mid range portraits for example> 45mm is an unusual focal length. closer to 50mm than 35mm, but wider than 50 for sure. (Or 55mm)
43mm is actually dead normal so the 45 should be pretty close to zero distortion, Pentax is the only one that makes a true 43
since sony 50mm struggle to perform, is it samyang much more better to capture moment in split second? i have 50mm 1.8 and the performance not much faster and accuracy a little bit off.. maybe im considering the samyang 45mm 1.8.
The 45 is the better lens in this case.
My Samyang AF 45mm F1.8 FE is very loud and horrible in autofocus.
I don't have the Sony lens but I tested it and it is very good in my opinion. It's a bargain for sure. Never tested the Samyang though.

Was the firmware up to date to version 3 on the Sony ? Apparently it makes a huge difference for autofocus.
I think samyangs pics looks much better
None of those, I will choose Sony 35mm 1.8 or Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8
The only issue I have with the Samyang 45mm is an issue I have with all of their lenses - you need an external dock to update the firmware.

If you have two lenses it's a very good investment
I actually love the character of the Sony. I don't love the colors I tend to get with Samyang lenses (I've used four of them), and I dislike how they feel and look, for some reason. I wish Sony would update their nifty, but the AF speed and accuracy I get with the 50 1.8 is pretty fantastic and I have no need to replace.
What camera do you pair it with for that fantastic af speed and accuracy?alot of reviews online say otherwise
@@asa9268 a7iii and a7c. No harm in taking the word of the majority reviewers. I've never missed a shot on a job due to the Sony being too slow or misreading the plane, though the Samyang/Rokinon is faster. It's not a noticeable advtange to me personally.
what do you mean by dock for firmware for the Samyang lens?

I do have Samyang 35mm 2.8 and I cannot see the point to get 45mm lens but rather 50mm or 55mm lens. I do like pictures but if video is needed I do use Sony 24-105 G lens with OSS and have no problems.
Both are so small that size does not matter at all.
I have the Samyang 45mm and so i am glad to see it did well against the budget FE 50mm. I would like to see your comparison of the Samyang and the FE 55mm. And your comment about the Samyang 50mm f/1.4 made me chuckle.
This 45mm is tempting. Wondering if it's worth it since I already own the 35mm 1.8 Suggestions, please.
That's a bit too close in focal length for me personally.. consider an 85. Great combo!

Option 1 : shud I sell kit lens 28-70 3.5-5.6 and get Tamron 28-75 2.8 instead ?
Option 2 : keep kit lens and buy samyang 45 1.8 or samyang 35 1.4 instead ?
Can't go wrong with the Tamron. A big step up from the kit lens.

Samyang 50mm f1.4 is a good lens, why did you say its one of the worst?
Optically its decent. Its AF is known to be terrible. That was my experience. Hope you had a better one!
