yeah it's rare for it to happen. I love the remake of urusei yatsura and so far I'm absolutely loving this remake as well. feeling blessed with these remakes.

Bro you are lying to yourself I have never seen the older version and knew nothing about Spice and Wolf or the story.... and today's episode is one of them to be watched on 1. 5X speed lol it was pretty boring. I do feel like they are trying to still make the show interesting but really it's just an economics lesson for a fantasy world LOL I know it's like considered one of the best anime when it was originally released but if something don't change or actually happen soon I don't care if it's a classic or not I'll be dropping it

@@elimDBZ literally this previous season we got Isekai shoujo stories like Dr.Elise and the Yuri one which is I am in love with the Villianess which were both great reading for me and the anime were pretty good too also 7th Time Loop too that one is a pure Shoujo too
This episode was the episode that drew me in and made me want to go read the light novel. The currency talk was interesting to me. But, this episode was the first real glimpse of the character dynamic and synergy between Holo and Lawrence.
People need to relearn how to just be comfortable & start focusing on enjoying nice things.

@@jebes909090 there are very few minor changes along with some of the more obvious stuff, though we'll be seeing a MASSIVE change in the second cour as this will likely adapt an entire volume the original completely left out

I think it's more of a testament to the original source material. A damn good story and characters can often stand the test of time in any medium. That being said, we've also seen the complete opposite of the spectrum, but when you can feel the passion of the production team, it's electric.

rosario manga is peak, only issue i have with it is the massive cliffhanger ending and the lack of screen time of his parents, I wanted to see how the parents would react to mc becoming a vampire.

Back when I first watched S&W, I was like no way this dude found a cute naked wolf girl and ended up teaching her economics. If this series is released by today standard it will be like Harem in the labyrinth of another world 🤣🤣
Never watched the original but this maybe my favorite of the season s. It takes simplicity and makes it transcendent with the way our two leads are together, with their banter and how they help each other.
People need to remember that Hunter x Hunter (2011), FMA: Brotherhood, Fruits Basket (2019) are great remakes now adding Spice & Wolf (2024) to the list, but I kind of understand people's fears that Berserk (2016), Shaman King are also remakes but letdowns big time...
It all depends on the studio and crew that are involved in the production determine the outcome

Yes Chibi, Kevin Penkin is indeed working on the music of this remake, one of the things that first hinted to me that this was gonna be a good remake back when people were fretting over the trailers when they first dropped
It's so odd hearing kevin pekin's compositions with this instrumentation. There was one piece in this episode around 17ish minutes in that reminded me its his music, but also just fits so well

Chibi i still remember your old Spice and wolf poster in your old setup before you moved into the house you and your dad built
It’s a very faithful adaptation when it comes to everything except the parts the 2008 anime changed from the source material, in a way it’s more faithful to the source material than the beloved 2008 anime. However as great as i think it is i still think the saturation is a bit more than I expected the story should have. The 2008 nailed it in that regard, but everything else is basically perfect and I’m so happy to hear the original voice actors again.

As I was going to watch this new episode, I saw the first Episode was out in Dub, and curious, I checked it out, and was happy to learn that the original VAs are back.
Spice and Wolf is my favorite series. the remake to me maintains the core story very well even if there are some slight differences between the OG anime and this one. the core parts and points of the story is still the same.
The apple is representative of knowledge. The author uses this symbology to great effect to subtely get across thenfact that holo is a very wise knowledgeable character. Beautiful writing.
Omg I'm so happy the VAs for the English dub are back. I watched spice and wolf for the first time in like 2017, when I really got into anime. Everyone said it was an amazing series (tho not complete), so I decided to give it chance. I absolutely loved it! Especially the chemistry between Holo and Lawrence in the English dub. I was worried they'd get new VAs for the English, especially now that it's Crunchyroll and not Funimation doing it. That's exciting to hear!
I was waiting for another Spice and Wolf video. I think the remake is doing good so far, makes Mondays more enjoyable.
The remake has proven to be surprisingly good. Hell I went into this with the good old nostalgia goggles firmly in place and a non-quite-healthy level of skepticism at first, but so far, putting aside my preference for the old OP and art style, this is proving itself to be a worthy remake, perhaps even better since its presumably sticking to the source material (I'll assume they won't skip an entire novel this time)

I know this is kind of off topic but after realizing the original dub va's are coming back as well, HOW CAN I NOT BE EXCITED RN!?!?!? Like S&W is one of the few dubs I have had the luxuary of enjoying back when dubs were on the lower quality side for most anime that weren't mainstream. So idc if you think I'm weird but I'm going to watch both Sub and Dub of S&W as it comes out OP, Ed, and all. I already watched the old version in both sub and dub multiple times after all so this is nothing new.
old ones were good but many anime have a bad history of retconning a good story i didn't know this for years before i jumped into manga's and light novels. Similarly the season 2 of spice and wolf rubbed me the wrong way at the time but i didn't think much then just disappointed clearly this anime remake being here shows more people felt the same way.
I I'm enjoying the remake and I can't wait to watch this again once all the episodes are out I also like how in the new op they reference the old op that was pretty cool

Never thought I would EVER say this... but... IN PASSIONE WE TRUST!
At least they didn’t make us wait 2 months for the English dub, but there’s absolutely no reason why they can’t release both at the same time. The dub is done, why won’t they release it at the same time, there’s no good reason. This is why i much prefer netflix getting getting new anime, they release both immediately.

When people do remakes and say that want to remake it for a modern audience, they actually mean that they want to change everything for _an entirely different_ audience, while simultaniously hating the old audience, and delibereately make things they dislike out of spite. Meanwhile, this series truly is made for today's audience that is simply a good story for everybody.

My only confusion is wondering why isn't Clowy Lawrence's trade partner within the village. Like the original Anime, it sets up an interesting love and painful betrayal... I'm a dub watcher and, I haven't yet read the novles so I don't know if Clowy played as big of a role in the Novles or if she wasn't as prevent and just a background character.

One thing I find annoying is people keep saying “the original is better, the original is better.” lol just let us newcomers enjoy the show! I’ve never seen the original and I LOVE this one so far!
While I'm loving the remake, and I'm mega thankful for it. I will say that the older anime has done some of these scenes so much better.
My Economical mind activates while watching Spice and Wolf.

I agree that this is a good remake. But, honestly speaking, it's so, so similar to the original that I'd prefer them to make a season 3 and just continue the story. Unlike, say, FMA, the original adaptation didn't stray too far from the LNs. At this rate we'll get two good adaptations of the beginning of the story and no adaptations of the latter parts.
I don't think it's that complicated... Sure, the story has to be interesting, but what I love is the interaction between the characters ^^
My one nitpick is that the howling bit in the first episode was did better in the original anime, otherwise it's flawless.
_Sailor Moon Crystal_ is a good example of a remake done right because it is supposed to follow the manga close. It would have been better to copy the colors from the cel anime since it would have been possible in the digital anime age.
Now I'm wishing for a great teacher Onizuka remake but in the Twitter world definitely wont like this

I have an honest question. Why do you like this books series so much? We started watching the new series but could not see what it is so good about it. So we then watched the entire original series and found it better than the remake.
i was proven wrong about this remake already. it's better than the original in a few ways. that forced love interest never showed up and the pacing is faster without loosing anything.
Chloe? She did show up as a cameo in ep1. She was one of the villagers chasing Yarei. Didn't read the novels, so I was confused when Yarei cut the last wheat and she wasn't shown anytime after that.
I hope to see more proper Anime reamkes in the future.

The studio behind it is such a good studio, they get a lot of crap for Interspecies Reviewers and Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World, but the animation is always on point and all the characters are cute. Glad they finally getting there name out with spice and wolf remake and I know they will continue to keep making 10 out of 10 episodes!
