James Gunn will make a better Superman than Snyder. The more I think about Snyder's choices, the more I think he had some contempt for the comics. He had Superman stealing people's clothes off their clothe's line. He killed Jimmy Olsen immediately. Batman was killing and shooting people. Clark didn't wear glasses or act like a farm boy. Pa Kent died in a weird way to make a weird point. It's just all so... Snyder. IMHO, he's been exposed as a bit of an edge lord. Looking forward to Gunn's playful approach. Loved Guardians.

I might comment a few times. Got to the BEEFCAKE section and this is TRUE TRUE TRUE!!! My cousin messaged me last year when Kraven was supposed to come out and said "LETS GO SEE IT" and she is in ZERO way into anything with superheroes. She only wanted to see Aaron Taylor-Johnson because he looked so great in the trailers.
I've always liked the skin-tight approach to the suit so that alone makes me resistant to fully loving the suit…it looks like a motocross suit and I really hope they fix it in post to make the suit look more sleek. Regardless though I'm very excited for this iteration of Superman...🤷🏽♀️
Go back to square one! There’s a great love story about Clark chasing Lois and Lois chasing Superman, themes of identity and duality, what a man is vs what he ought to be, what women look for in a man, etc. That’s a romance that’s never really realized it’s potential in the movies and it was a missed opportunity in the Snyderverse when they opted to go the realistic route and had Lois figure out his identity from the get go. If Gunn’s movie isn’t gonna be apart of the Reevesverse then it should be a back-to-basics superman story anyway

They were filming at Mentor Headlands Beach last week as well as downtown Cleveland. Mentor Headlands Beach is about 15 mins east of Cleveland. Looking forward to seeing my local beach in this film.

The maths will need looked at, but I'd say given that this has so many heroes I'd say 2 is fine. Also introducing them without origin stories? When Superman first came out, he was more smart alecky and more aggressive, his stories pitting him against wife beaters and big business. I would like to see stories that return him to his roots. Something else that improves Superman stories is when his powers are in danger because his being all powerful limits conflict.
Modern audiences like 'cuteness', for lack of a better term: Rocket, Groot, Baby Yoda, Tony Stark, Peter Parker; Cap's butt is memed more than his muscles; so I think Corenswet has a chance 👌
I love the bright colors, the trunks, the yellow S on the back of the cape. I'm still not sold on the leather motor cross jacket design, but am hopeful it looks good on film. It could definitely use the beefcake. I am hopeful that this movie will be your classic Superman type movie/story. I'm getting good vibes from this production as to that. I understand a lot of people aren't interested in Superman because he's so wholesome and simple by design. He is hard to write for. But I still believe Superman will bring in a lot of comic book fans and families to theaters, by virtue of the IP and being a multi-generational character. Kids and adults can engage their parents and grandparents about this movie. Though with it being a Gunn script/movie, can he offer enough broad appeal to all those generations?
Grace, you're absolutely correct in your read of Mr. Terrific's hair. It gives 70s, so much so that I thought this movie must be a period piece. It does not scream timeless.
Arrowverse Mister Terrific Curtis Holt is gay. Comic books Mister Terrific Michael Holt is straight. Mad respect for Edi Gothegi's legs, but I still think his face is too narrow. Still, much better fitting casting than Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner. Nowadays, not just stunt suits, but even regular suits tend to be baggy. Superman's will almost certainly be made to look tight in postproduction. And the overall look is very similar to the Fortnite suit, but every single detail (collar, cape, logo, belt, trunks, boots, cuffs, piping) is distinctly different. Phase 1 MCU had quite a bit of cheesecake (not as much as previous decades, but more than the basically zilch Hollywood has been doing since MeToo) and very little beefcake. Cap and Thor got like one shirtless scene each, and that was it. Corneswet is a hunky dreamboat. I have no idea what your problem is. Also, Lois looks great. But I do agree that Jimmy doesn't look geeky enough nor ginger enough, which is baffling given that the casting was a 9.5 out of 10 in both respects. Let's hope hair, at least, is just lighting and will be fixed. Captain Marvel dominated the Golden Age until he was sued out of publication. Superman very much dominated the Silver Age (alongside his spin-offs Superboy, Supergirl, Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, and Superman's Girl Friend Lois Lane - plus top billing on World's Finest). The Adam West show basically saved Batman. The Bronze Age was dominated by New/Teen Titans and Legion of Super-Heroes. After CoIE, Batman and Superman had roughly equal footing (with each other and Spider-Man and X-Men at Marvel), although Batman did get a boost by Tim Burton's films and built up a stronger foundation of iconic stories throughout the '80s and '90s, leading to slightly more spin-offs than Superman got in that period. Batman(/Batgod) has only really been dominating DC since the Chris Nolan films.

Fortnight probably got early drafts of the Super suit. They did not design it first. It probably wasn't suppose to be released till the photos of the movie, and that is why James is so upset. So no. It's not the Fortnight suit. It's the suit they designed based off what the studio gave them that leaked too early.

The new 52 costume isn't a good choice. It doesn't make sense to give young superman the Kingdome come symbol. This movie isnt made by a fan

I think the light tone of this movie could make it an all ages affair at the summer box office next year. And that's a fun idea.

When Superman first came out, he was more smart alecky and more aggressive, his stories pitting him against wife beaters and big business. I would like to see stories that return him to his roots. Something else that improves Superman stories is when his powers are in danger because his being all powerful limits conflict.
I liked reading comics where Superman's main conflict is making hard choices. Not being able to be everywhere all at once.
The castings and looks for the Superman movie have been spot on so far… right off the pages of a comic book 🔥

I love the bright colors, the trunks, the yellow S on the back of the cape. I'm still not sold on the leather motor cross jacket design, but am hopeful it looks good on film. It could definitely use the beefcake. I am hopeful that this movie will be your classic Superman type movie/story. I'm getting good vibes from this production as to that. I understand a lot of people aren't interested in Superman because he's so wholesome and simple by design. He is hard to write for. But I still believe Superman will bring in a lot of comic book fans and families to theaters, by virtue of the IP and being a multi-generational character. Kids and adults can engage their parents and grandparents about this movie. Though with it being a Gunn script/movie, can he offer enough broad appeal to all those generations?

Arrowverse Mister Terrific Curtis Holt is gay. Comic books Mister Terrific Michael Holt is straight. Mad respect for Edi Gothegi's legs, but I still think his face is too narrow. Still, much better fitting casting than Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner.
Nowadays, not just stunt suits, but even regular suits tend to be baggy. Superman's will almost certainly be made to look tight in postproduction. And the overall look is very similar to the Fortnite suit, but every single detail (collar, cape, logo, belt, trunks, boots, cuffs, piping) is distinctly different.
Phase 1 MCU had quite a bit of cheesecake (not as much as previous decades, but more than the basically zilch Hollywood has been doing since MeToo) and very little beefcake. Cap and Thor got like one shirtless scene each, and that was it.
Corneswet is a hunky dreamboat. I have no idea what your problem is. Also, Lois looks great. But I do agree that Jimmy doesn't look geeky enough nor ginger enough, which is baffling given that the casting was a 9.5 out of 10 in both respects. Let's hope hair, at least, is just lighting and will be fixed.

The Adam West show basically saved Batman. The Bronze Age was dominated by New/Teen Titans and Legion of Super-Heroes. After CoIE, Batman and Superman had roughly equal footing (with each other and Spider-Man and X-Men at Marvel), although Batman did get a boost by Tim Burton's films and built up a stronger foundation of iconic stories throughout the '80s and '90s, leading to slightly more spin-offs than Superman got in that period. Batman(/Batgod) has only really been dominating DC since the Chris Nolan films.

Fortnight probably got early drafts of the Super suit. They did not design it first. It probably wasn't suppose to be released till the photos of the movie, and that is why James is so upset. So no. It's not the Fortnight suit. It's the suit they designed based off what the studio gave them that leaked too early.
