Hi, I'm Maristela from Brasil. I've been knitting for 50 years, I like to learn. Where I live it's very cold too. 🥰I love your channel. Thanks fo sharing with us.
Love the idea of your winter sweater. and I love the colors.....the red will make or brake the feel of the sweater.....gotta get the 'right' red. Can't wait to see your finished garment. I just did a sweater in a forest green as the main color and like a goldest type of color for the colorwork. Great podcast! thanks for the ideas and inspirations!
Absolutely love you and your podcast and so grateful you shared your gorgeous EPP quilt and the Last Homely House podcast in your last episode. I'm a daily knitter and an off and on again quilter and I'm excited to discover this EPP avenue/rabbit hole. Currently knitting on my second Elah cardigan in a row by Isabell Kraemer, the first for my daughter and this one is for me. Looking forward to seeing what colors you decide on for your Holiday Doodle. You can't go wrong with any John Arbon yarn!
You are so sweet and very welcome! I love Kate's podcast; it is so calm and easy to watch and she doesn't get too hung up on absolute accuracy :) The Elah cardigan is a lovely one! Thank you for watching 🥰
How lovely to be able to ”walk around” with you in the beautiful cities and yarn shops! Thank you! I love the question about christmas sweater colors. I admit I’ve never thought about it, but I think I would have knitted a red one (kind of the red you were showung from John Arbor) with light grey as the accent color for Christmas proper, and I think a navy one with white snowflakes as accents (maybe with a added thread of white glitter) for winter in general. In Sweden, it’s usually very dark and snowy, so I think that would catch the spirit! :)
Oh wow, now you have got me thinking! Holding a sparkly thread with a more "ordinary" colour would be a fantastic effect and I love the idea of a midnight blue... That is such a good suggestion! I am off to Köln (Cologne) today for a little mooch around so you now know what to expect in the next episode :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Aachen is beautiful.I know the gorgeous yarn shop there. They have a nice variety of yarn and a lot of wool yarn too.I am located near Koblenz and it is great to hear that you have a nice visit to Rhein in Flammen.
Hi neighbour :) We had a lovely time in Koblenz last weekend. The fireworks were amazing! You are very lucky to live close by. Thank you for watching 🥰
Oh the wrap, the wrap! In that gorgeous earthy colour. So exciting!!!!! I must have about 4 wraps in my Ravelry queue because what's not to love? And this one is further wrap inspo.❤
I have been wanting to make a wrap for ages and this one is just so pretty! I also love the one that's in testing from Rust Knitwear as well. All over brioche would definitely be a challenge for me though :) I have now decided on my yarn for the festive sweater and it's not John Arbon ;) I will talk about it on Monday and hopefully I will have a chance to swatch if not cast on before then. Thank you for watching 🥰
Thank you Kathryn for posting another lovely video. Your Pacific Knit co sweater sounds like a fun project. I’ve just started a Yule do sweater ( think I’ll enter it in the MAL) and like you I don’t want to put all that work in just to wear it a few time each year. Look forward to your next episode 💐
You should! It is a lovely day out :) Although wait until La Volotte is open again in September so you can visit 2 delightful yarn shops ;) Thank you for watching 🥰
Hi Moomeeno. I love your podcast - your knits, yarns and interesting visits to yarn shops. I am knitting swatches for a cardigan to give to my daughter-in-law's mother at Christmas. Also knitting socks, but I am always knitting socks. I have so much yarn that I am trying to avoid buying any more and the socks definitely came from my collection but I have to get a move on or it will outlive me!! 😂
That sounds lovely :) Which cardigan pattern have you decided to go for? Also, I have come to the conclusion that buying yarn and knitting yarn are two separate hobbies so it is fine to do both 🥰 Thank you so much for watching! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a lovely comment 🥰 Kathryn x x x
@@madebymoomeeno The pattern is the Kildalton cardigan from Kate Davies Designs. And I agree with you about the buying yarn and knitting it. Definitely two of my favourite activities. Claire xx

Hi your ridge tee is a gorgeous colour. I’m knitting a Pathfinder Top from The Journal of Scottish Yarn using Ginger Twist Masham Mayhem in the colour Emerald City. Love the video of Aachen, I have been for 40+ years, it’s such a beautiful city ❤
Ginger Twist yarn is something I would like to get my hands on sometime! Definitely worth a little trip to Edinburgh :) I love Aachen too; it is such a pretty city 🥰
While joining you I’m working on dark brown socks 🤪! And hope to start and finish two dark green jumpers before natural light is very limited ! Your idea of the Christmas vest or jumper is lovely but I would probably need more time ! The pattern looks great . I’ll be interested in which colours you choose as I personally prefer a more subtle look.
Doing your darker knits in the summer is boss-level knitting strategy :) Also, if you start a Christmas jumper this year you don't have to finish it for this Christmas :) I am the silly person on a deadline hahaha! Thank you for watching 🥰
Hi Catherine, thank you for another lovely podcast. Aachen is a beautiful city. When we lived in Maastricht we visited it frequently. I am knitting the Ilha sweater at the moment with Uschitita yarn, single merino. I just split body and sleeves. It is a very nice knit. Happy knitting to you❤
Your project sounds lovely! I am glad you enjoyed the little trip down memory lane; I am really loving making these little films :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Thank you. Lovely podcast. it is interesting to see other knitters pattern choices and colors. Lovely knits. I am not a summer knits knitter I just work on smaller woolly projects . Achen looks lovely. Thank you again.
I am doing a test Crochet for a new tester. I’ve never tested for before. And I love you sharing if it’s great for a new knitter because I am a new knitter. I have knit one tank top. I am knitting my first pair of socks. I have one done have to do the other of you hats, but I want to do the muscle, I started it , and I need to get back on it
That sounds great! If it is not a secret test, which pattern are you making? I hope it goes well and good luck with your musselburgh :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Hi Kathryn! It's lovely to see another of your great videos. Your ridge tee is very beautiful, and it actually goes very well with your yellow skirt. Seeing your video a strange idea popped in my head: that your colors go very well with the colors of the gerbera flowers that are behind you! I think that a combination of orange, medium green, yellow and brown lights you up very much! And they are more colors for spring and not christmas... it's just a thought! 😌🙃
Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! You really have an eye for colour :) It is so hard to choose colours for a new project! I have so many ideas and it is difficult to settle on a final choice! I have time though so I can enjoy the process :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Hi there! I have to agree about the Purlo Soho hat- it’s one of my favs to give as gifts. Love the tee shirt your wearing. I have some of that same Drops yarn that I’ve had for “yonks” as you say : ) Might have to join your MAL to use up that stash. What a lovely town and yarn shop. I’m starting to plan our trip to the UK next summer. I think we’ll mostly be in Scotland but I’m going to convince my friends to go to Northern England and stop by the John Arbon studio. My friend’s a crocheter, so if yarn is involved it won’t take much convincing. Our husbands will have to find something else to do. Do you know of a place where I could find a list of all the yarn festivals in the UK? Thanks for another lovely video!
You are very welcome and thank you for such a lovely comment! Planning trips is the best :) There is a good list of yarn fesitvals in the UK here (it gets updated each year) beingknitterly.co.uk/uk-yarn-festivals/ Also, keep in mind that visits to John Arbon are by appointment unless its their open weekend (usually in July I think) :) Thank you for watching 🥰
Hello :) Yes, there are several yarn shops here! The closest to me is called StrickArt but sadly they do not allow photography or filming or I would take the podcast on a tour. There is also a discount yarn store called Das Wolle Depot but as it is tricky to get to by bus I am ashamed to say I've haven't visited yet but I will do soon I hope. The place I consider to be my local yarn shop is Die Geschenke Werkstatt and I did a little tour in Episode 9 :) There are a few more places (like Wolle Willich) who do not have a bricks and mortar shop but you can pick up from them. MG has a history of textile production which was the main industry here for many years but sadly not so much wool! Thank you for watching 🥰
Does the Musselburgh sit on the head without the fold up brim slipping down? Some fold up hats don't stay in place. Being double knit, will it have more tendency to slip? If you run out of yarn, look on Ravelry Stash.
I haven’t had a problem with the Musselburgh slipping down and I checked with my partner and he said the same. If you’re worried, you could knit it a little shorter and not fold the brim maybe? Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Oh my goodness! You are absolutely right! I have just gone in and checked and default settings and they are crazy! I assumed they placed one ad in the middle and had no idea there were so many! Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. I have changed the settings on every video because the "new" default had even been applied to my old videos. I am so sorry x x x
