My sister is a trucking insurance agent and truckers with new companies constantly asking for help, I’ll tell her to refer them to your UA-cam channel 😉
I will be releasing a video on the new entrant audit in a week or so!
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful hey 👋 quick question when u get ur insurance, the insurance company noticed the fmcsa that I have insurance or I have to contact the fmcsa and tell them that I purchase the insurance?
Thank you so much! I got all this done in an hr or two while here at work because you explain things so clearly! You saved me a lot of time and stress. Thanks!
Just sent my application in for my llc last night. Your videos are so so valuable, Thank you! They need to teach this stuff in school!!
Question: Is the annual payment for BOC-3 a fee to the agent company? It is my understanding that the FMCSA does not require an annual update unless there is a change of address. Thank you for your videos.
Such an underrated channel... thanks for all the info!
The best channel on UA-cam
I can watch your videos over and over because they are well put together you’re the best keep up the good work… can you make a video about getting the best insurance or insurance rate for new Authority?

Great video! How do i get a ICC number in Illinois. also when Do I get my insurance to file to activate Dot Authority thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for all the information you are sharing. God Bess you
Might be a silly question but does it matter what state the company you use for the BOC3 agent is in ? Is it ok if it's different from your home state or if you plan on driving in a few different states ?
Miranda thank you a lot! for sharing your knowledge with us. It has been a great help.
THANK YOU!! Your videos helped me out so much.
Thank you for your kindness of this video help you me to save money and help myself
Awesome! You’re my lifesaver, Miranda!
I’m gonna do that tonight. Thank you!
thank you! I already got my DOT and MC following the steps from your last video and just finished all the steps in this one. so I should be all done right? I know I still need insurance but other than that am I good to go? again thank you for all the great info and content.
Can you talk about how to get MC number itself for people with USDOT already
I kept on getting the same errors at the end of the video before you modify it. Can you share how to finish modify it? new authority no carriers, no mileage. Could that be the issue? I don't have any mileage to enter nor drivers.
Thanks for the video but I have a quick question I just opened my box truck business I did the boc3 and ucr but with the mcs 150 should I wait after a year to file it or do I have to file it before I even get my first load
MCS150 is just an informational update that has to be done every 24 months. You are good to start rolling!
Good morning, ma'am my question to you is the stare of Wyoming doesn't participate in UCR. My surrounding state are Colorado, Nebraska, Montana and Utah. Now does it matter which state I pick?
Nope! Doesnt matter :)
Thank you Miranda.. God bless you and your family always! We always have you in our prayers even though we don't know each other! My the LORD bless your business and health 🙏. We are just starting out my wife and I. Our sincere respect and regards to you!
So I used a company to get my Dot and MC number. I have my insurance also, but now waiting on them to file the UCR and boc3. Have been communicating with a compliance company that seemed legit to compare notes. This second company is telling me about a driver file I need that will cost an extra $200. I'm stuck as to how to move forward and get to where I can start hauling legally.
You’re the best in the business!
I don't care if you don't work with hot shots, I'm still watching your videos!!! :) If I remember correctly you had said in another video that you found out you didn't need to pay $150 annually for
boc-3. is the company in this video the company that was charging you yearly?, and if so are you still using them?
Haha thank you for watching. yes, our BOC 3 company charges an annual fee that I wasn't even aware was NOT necessary to charge until I started this channel. So yes I am looking into getting another BOC3 coverage at this time
I LOVE your silly face it's beautiful. I don't care what my wife thinks. That face keeps my attention and I've learned so much from you. Thank you so much we are going to cash app a lil sumtin sumtin when we get our first load. Girl you are the G.O.A.T. of youtube!
I was looking for this comment!
Hello awesome video, after getting the USDOT and MC I went ahead and got the BOC3, UCR and everything else you spoke about. When should I start the IRP process?
Msg for guide 🔝🔝◼◼⤴⤴
Get that form 2290 and then start it right away if you are planning to start operating soon :) IRP can sometimes take a month to get done- at least in the wonderful state of CA haha
Hi Miranda I was wondering if the boc3 needs to be renew every year, I tough it was only the 150 form every 24 months, I heard that only when you changing something on your company is when you have to update the boc 3 form, please let me know I’m little confused, thanks
Do they charge 150 every year or is it just a 1 time charge. I actually heard from a lawyer this is a just one time fee he said an every year charge is a rip off
Thank you for information very easy
Hey, do we need UCR registration as an auto transport broker?
Awesome information! You are the BEST ❤️
Miranda, you said in other educational video that we should renew BOC 3 every 3 years Could you please clarify that ? Thank you I really learned a lot and appreciate your lessons :)
It all depends on the boc3 provider- some don’t require renewal unless there’s a name change or ownership change, others ask to renew every year
Thank you sooo much, If you just got your intrastate plates do you have to pay whole price fora portioned plates
?
Hi Virginia, yes you pay full price on estimate miles the first time. After that, you pay once a year for all miles driven throughout the year.
Thanks and appreciate your time and help..
Quick question I got my USDOT & MC then I did BoC 3, UCR, 2290 and enrolled for alcohol test got my truck and insurance did I miss anything?
Another question plz do I have to send a copy of UCR, boc 3 and insurance to fmcsa ?? Or they will get update automatically and the insurance company will update them??
appreciate your response.
For the UCR, BOC3 and Insurance, this will automatically be updated with the FMCSA. Also, if you are doing interstate operations, dont forget to apply for IFTA and IRP! :)
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful don’t need id u under 26k pounds also don’t need to update mc -150 when u first apply for mc number unless u mad a mistake with information
Is the UCR required for cargo van owner operators, under 10,000 pounds?
What about the company type authorization part I need help answering the questions
Hello Miranda, I’m in California, do I need a company name registered with the state before I get my MC and DOT numbers?.
Thank you for your videos they are very helpful.
Hi! Not necessarily a company name but I do recommend an LLC. Many operate as sole proprietors and dont require any company formation but LLC keeps you safer
Thank you really like your video 🙏🏿😁
Can I use my personal vic to get my authority until I get my cargo van or box truck? I'll be using my personal vic for courier loads until my authority ages.
Thank you for all the information. Just a quick question: I am a Intrastate owner operator and business owner of a dump truck in Cali I received my CADOT # and just need to know if I need to file for my MCP# or a CA# first? And is there anything else I will need to move forward. Thank you
Great question but unfortunately I am useless in this department as I am not sure what the regulations are for a dump truck. I would reach out to the FMCSA!
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful No worries. Thank you for your response and all your input and will definitely follow up with the FMCSA.
Wow I did it. Thank you for the guidance.
hey 👋 quick question when u get ur insurance, the insurance company noticed the fmcsa that I have insurance or I have to contact the fmcsa and tell them that I purchase the insurance?
The insurance company will notify the FMCSA
You are the best 🎉
Do you provide a service that helps a company get all the stuff necessary for my own authority, mc and dot?
I Have received alert after i just paid the DOT application: 'You must update your DBA name for you USDOT number registration information or operating authority registration so your DBA name matches in both systems . ???? So they want me to file operating authority and send them the # ???Thank you
If your base state is not one of the participating states?
Very Helpful. Thank you.
Good morning Miranda!
How are you doing?
I have tricky question! :)
If I got my BOC-3 and to age my Authority for brokers I'll got Insurance for my Chevrolet Astro Van (GWV 6000lbs) with Commercial Automobile Public Liability insurance (bodily injury/property damage/environmental restoration) Freight:--$1,000,000 - will such insurance work to get my Authority active for FMCSA with my Chevrolet Astro Van (GWV 6000lbs)? Does FMCSA require some other types of insurances to activate my Authority?
If it will work and my authority become active - will it cause a New Entrant Safety Audit? (without getting IFTA, IRP plates, UCR)
And another question: how and where does brokers see carrier's insurance? If I will get only Public liability insurance (bodily injury/property damage/environmental restoration) and age my Authority for a while until I get a truck, and after changing insurance and getting also cargo insurance and physical damage insurance and start work with brokers - will they see that I didn't have a cargo insurance?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Artem! Tricky question indeed but happy to try to answer! As long as you meet the minimum requirement of 750K in public liability insurance, that will activate your authority. You do not need any other type of insurance to activate the MC number. In terms of a new entrant audit, yes, it will trigger the countdown to your new entrant audit.
Brokers have their own system to see the insurance, but they also use SAFER: li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_carrquery.prc_carrlist
Brokers only care about cargo insurance when you actually start hauling loads for them. For example, once you book a load with TQL, TQL will need you to have 1 million in liability and 100k in cargo insurance. Physical damage insurance is not a requirement by brokers, but is a requirement by financial institutions if you are financing your truck!
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful Thank you for answering, Miranda!
I do very appreciate your help and your videos are very helpful for new beginners as me. I see you channel is growing up because it's really deserve the growing because of your great contribution and help!
Thank you very much
Can I do intrastate loads while I wait for MC authority. I have boc3 and insurance already.
If you have all the state specific permits, then yes!
If the vehicle is less 10 000 lb i dont need the ucr please letme know
Question: when I applied for my Boc3 it asked for my DOT number but I don't recall them asking for the MC number did I do something wrong? An agent filed for me already.
After you get your authority and insurance how long does it take for you to be eligible to drive
Once your MC number is active, you are good to go!
I have 2 cargo vans do I need to register for UCR if I am crossing the state line?
thank you so much, your the best
Ok I have a Question, I was Told the BOC-3 Only has to filed once and Needs No renewal Unless There is a Change in Ownership. Can you Explain
It depends not he company you use. Some BOC3 providers require an annual refiling
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful Oh OK! Thank you.
We have the same agents for boc 3 but others say their is no need to renew it unless you have made a change of address, name etc.
I got the email that i need to renew it what should i do?
You got any experience in dealing with truck auctions ?
Not yet, but I will in a very short while haha
The very best !!!
How much do you charge to set a trucking business start to finish.. Llc etc

Is UCR mandatory. We operate from NJ and it’s not a participating state. What to do.
Great question, in this case you have to get UCR from a neighboring state. For example, people who are based out of OR have to register with UCR through WA
just starting the process in getting our MC# your videos are amazing… i also have a question with the UCR since we are located in New Jersey do we just pick one of the closest states???
For the biennial update which information is required to be updated or changed?
If you have no changes, you dont have to update anything. You just have to log in and confirm the info is current. Otherwise update whatever changed in your company
Best ever🎉
How can I retain your services?
I know that brokers and shippers would need your MC and DOT numbers but is it wise to advertise them or is their a potential for fraud or other carriers using your company identity?
Interesting question! Unfortunately, you would have to advertise your MC and DOT number on your truck (on both sides) in order to be compliant. I have not yet heard of carriers using someone else's identity :)
Pretty sure they will need additional info to use the numbers like ein name and address and company number ect
Hey I recently just got my USDOT# to let it age. Is the msc150 form required to let it age? Or it’s only required when I’m ready to file for my authority?
MCS150 needs to be updated every 24 months or whenever there is a change in the company.
Hi,
How do I submit my insurance to get my mc active?
You agent submits proof of insurance to the FMCSA
Thank you 🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽
You made it REAL SIMPLE and easy following your steps on getting my authority
🥇💎
Thank you can you do one on how to properly negotiate by miles to price PLEASE
I have a few negotiation videos but would love to do another one! What do you mean by miles to price?
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful how the prices change by region, how to check the weather were the driver is going thru .. the best states to get a load out etc
@@Travelingwithmelisa yes I will definitely make videos about that! Thank you for the idea 😊
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful you’re welcome thank you for a GREAT and Easy to comprehend channel. Also can you make a back office video for compliance
@@Travelingwithmelisa absolutely!
Do I need to have insurance before applying for boc 3?
Nope- you can do BOC3 first and then insurance
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful Im new to this and I was wondering if I can start as soleproprietor and then later upgrade to an llc or would that be complicated?
I have a question I need some clarification on. I'm getting into the cattle hauling business. I got my USDOT number from the fmcsa website but it never prompted me to file the mcs 150. On their website it says carriers don't need an mc number if they haul exempt commodities, cattle are federally exempt and not regulated, as are other commodities of little value: hay, wheat, etc.. Which led me to believe I don't need an MC number. Others make it seem like I may need one. What do you know about this? I just wanted someone smarter than me to confirm if I need one or not.
Hi Caleb! I dont know much about this but from the research I have done, it looks like if you are a carrier who is exclusively hauling exempt commodities, you are not required to have an MC number. I would recommend for you to reach out to the FMCSA using their Chat option. They will be able to clarify this further! :)
Hey, what is all the talk about drug test and alcohol test? I use to get emails, and asked them were they from USDOT,, then emails stop.
Hi Mike, yes when you get your DOT/MC number, you get a ton of calls from all sorts of third party providers who are trying to sell you a service. You do need to be enrolled in a random testing program to be compliant though!
No sure if you mention there are 9 states not involved in UCR therefore those residents in whiting those state need to file through the neighbor state! Any way those 9 state not involve are just as involved as the other!
Good point! Yes, Oregon is one of them and must be filed through WA! :)
The boc-3 form does not expire and does not need to be renewed unless you make name changes to your company or address
Depends on who you use for BOC3
When filling for the Boc 3 it ask for legal name, is that asking for my name or company name?
The company name
Help! Addind a new truck
Do i need a new dot number n mc ? Or can i use the ones i have already or i just need to add the new truck info in the dot account?
You just add your truck to your existing authority
Thank you sis🙏
Do you put virtual address (if using one) on this file?
Also is the mcs 150 for cargo vans too?
what do i do if i have no mc number
My state is not listed in registration for Ucr(fl)
In this case, you will need to choose a nearby state for your UCR. For example, OR is not listed so you would choose WA :)
I would like you to help me finalize my authority…… what is the best option to reach you ☝️!???🙏🏽
How long does it take them to grant the mc
10 business days
@@TruckingMadeSuccessful do u make them?
So many Spam emails and phone calls after getting your DOT. Everybody wants to get your money. They make there websites to look like FMCSA and probably the client this women helps pays double the price what FMCSA need. I am tired from such a spammers. Аnd they are going to the hell they should know it!
Algorithm algorithm algorithm ❤😊
